"Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's Twitter account got ahead of him on Friday evening... 'Scott is in. Are you? Join our team today.'"

"Attached was a black and white photo of Walker under the caption: 'SCOTT WALKER IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT.'"
The message quickly disappeared from Walker's Twitter feed, but it could still be viewed on his account for several hours. On Friday night, Twitter spokesman Nu Wexler said in a statement: "We're looking into today's issue, and we've determined the Walker team was not at fault."
So who's at fault? (I don't get it.)

It was intentional.

It was done to get attention.

It worked.

The Chinese hacked his twitter account and posted the phoney tweet?

PR is PR however it comes. The amateur is just lucky, again.

He's been running since November. The actual announcement date is meaningless.

I today realized that I just don't support Walker. It is a bonus that boneheaded Wisconsonites who want to turn their country into Greece or Puerto Rico hate him so much that he disturbs their dreams, but that just isn't enough. I would vote for him over Hillary or Sanders in a New York minute though.

"I today realized that I just don't support Walker."

What was it?

I would support anybody who understands this central fact: the raw exercise of power by the federal government reduces the prosperity, freedom and happiness of the American people. Walker seems to understand this fact.

The establishment (Democrat and Republican) wishes to exercise power. That is why I cannot support Jeb or any other Democrat.

I like Jindal better but Walker seems to be better at surviving hostility and will be a survivor. I just worry about Trump doing a Perot. That was what got us into the Clinton storm in 1992.

tim in vermont said...

If Clinton hadn't been shepherded in by Perot, maybe we don't launch a missile attack on Afghanistan in 98 to distract from a blow job, and maybe then Mullah Omar does not approve 9-11 in retaliation.

Would George H.W. Bush have signed the repeal of Glass Steagall the way Clinton did? Who knows? I know George H.W. Bush would have been a better, less venal, president.

Maybe Sanders and Trump both run as independents. Then who wins? It's Martin Van Burean all over again.

I'm sensing a bizarro Althouse theme today: "Anyone's Fault But Mine"

I don't care anymore. He hired Brad Dayspring and now he's dead to me.

Of course they are "at fault." If somebody else did the screwup, the Walker Team hired them.

Mike Grebe will have little sympathy for this bullshit.

Walker also just announced the U of W tenure cuts and budget cuts. Is garage hysterical yet ?

I see all of the republican candidates as cabinet officers and agency heads in the next republican administration. I just don't see who is the 2016 republican presidential candidate yet.

I still don't hear that much about him. Saw a blurb about him being anti-gay marriage despite the strong objections of his wife and sons, but that was it. Don't even know if it's true.

According to ABC News:

Twitter is now coming forward to clear Walker's team of any fault and investigating how the tweet was posted in error.

"We're looking into today's issue, and we've determined the Walker team was not at fault," a spokesman for Twitter said in a statement Friday night.

Walker's press secretary AshLee Strong told ABC News in a statement, "We're happy Twitter confirmed this wasn't Team Walker's post and are investigating what happened."

Lol. Blame it on Twitter

Has Walker EVER taken responsibility for anything his team has done?

The buck never stops with Scott Walker. Despite being executive. What a joke of a leader

No one cares. These days it's all Trump, all the time. Gimme some of that sweet, sweet Trumpy music.

Birkel said...

Mark,
You must be ready to list all the times President Obama has taken responsibility for his Administration's failures.

Projection is not just a river in Egypt.

ARM, Bloomberg had an excellent article on wed related to what Trump is up to and it heavily involves Trumps popularity overseas in selling his personal brand to developers for use in their properties.

It is a very lucrative operation which dwarfs any lost business in the US.

He should be. Seems the head of the GAB is an old friend of Lois Learner.

Has anybody thought it might be a Walker hater who works at Twitter? Or maybe just call them a HRC supporter. They thought they could do this to make Walker look like a fool. Did they succeed or not?

Birches said...

I can't believe so many of you are turning on Walker already. Who would be better? Cruz? Rubio? Jeb?

Seriously.

To answer Ann's question: "So who's at fault? (I don't get it.)"

Twitter probably is. Who else could it be?

Maybe professional accounts come the ability to schedule tweets-Walker announces at 10AM, and the tweet was supposed to be out at 10:30 AM. Only someone at Twitter goofed and published it early. I'd guess it was something like that-Twitter releasing before its embargo time ended.

I like Walker, but Jeb! just raised $114 Million in 3 months. In politics, money talks and bullsh&t walks.

Methinks, we are gonna have to learn to love Jeb!

Mark said...

Yes, Birkel. Let's believe it is secretly a conspiracy by someone within Twitter messing with their whole system just to embarrass Walker.

No one ever makes mistakes with technology.

This is a 'reply all' type mistake. Can I blame Google for hitting reply all?

Its all a conspiracy to Walker shpporters. Knowing Lois Lerner is proof of guilt for Repubs, yet having a deputy chief of staff currently in jail is not proof of anything.

Good luck with your tinfoil hat business Michael K

Only if you votr for him.

Trump is resonating. Watch who backs Trump. That will be the winner.

machine: "such amazing leadership..."

The best leaders should always be judged by the quality and coordination of their tweets.

Said no serious thinker ever, at anytime.

Once again machine, try to keep it to one word posts. Beyond that it becomes, let's just say, problematic, for you.

The U of W cuts seem politically suicidal to me.

Alex, that is a feature not a bug to Walkerites. They politics of jealousy and hatred .... anti intellectual class resentment.
