“Scott Walker’s momentum puts him solidly in first place,” said J. Ann Selzer, president of West Des Moines-based Selzer & Co., which conducted the poll. “For the time being, he’s doing the right things to make the right first impression.”

This is all smoke and mirrors, Annie will vote for Hillary.
Walker/Fiorina?
Walker is looking better. Rand Paul is self destructing. Florin just doesn't have enough of a record. Maybe VP to cover the vagina vote.
Fiorina. Damn autocorrect !!!!
"Maybe VP to cover..."
Her main strength seems to be her willingness to be willing to take the fight to the media and Hillary, so there's more she can offer.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Walker/Rubio ticket.
Walker has no vision. He will not be able to articulate why conservatism is distinct from corporatism and why it should be our direction in 2017. Hillary has no vision either, but she can inherit the Democratic coalition in whole plus 10% of GOP women.
Walker is O'Malley, not Sanders.
Hillary’s vision is of the next dozen million dollars coming into her Foundation (money laundering operation) to line her and Bill’s pockets. That includes selling US interests to high bidders.
Her vision obviously included taking Libya and giving it to her lackies to carve up while shipping arms to Syrian rebels (now called ISIS) from a place called Benghazi.
Some call that vision, others call it national suicide under a corruptocrat of the first order.
If you even tolerate Hillary, your assessment of Walker is worhless.
No one deserves to win, but someone will.
Unknown, my tolerance for Hillary is irrelevant to her 300+ electoral votes.
Louis said: Walker has no vision."
A few questions for Louis:
I'm curious, what constitutes "vision" in a candidate and how do we discern it?
Which of the other candidates possess "vision".
Is vision something a candidate can develop, or is a currently visionless candidate doomed to a permanent lack of ocular acuity?
---Unknown, my tolerance for Hillary is irrelevant to her 300+ electoral votes.
So our political lords are going to force this corrupt mess on us and we are going to buy it? You speak only for mindless, power worshipping liberals.
I speak only for myself.
Bobber, those aren't hard questions though the answers would be fairly subjective. I am not interested enough to respond beyond this.
Beware candidates who have visions.
"Has expanded his early lead in Iowa"
Because voting is just like a horse race.
This kind of writing is meant to influence voting patterns and it works great on the low information voter.
Stephanopoulis was pushing Carson this morning on his show, saying that he "leads" all candidates. No mention of Walker leading in Iowa. I think the Dims are most afraid of Walker and Rubio but I prefer Walker to Rubio because governors ! Fox had Carly but, again, I don't think she has the right stuff. Anybody who can't beat Boxer, even in California, is pretty weak as a candidate. I'd like to see Condi Rice take on Kemala Harris for Boxer's seat but Condi may have other good options.
So he "wins" Iowa and then doesn't contest Florida?
Thin gruel. The real news is that nobody in the group stands out.
The media will play the horse race game for the rest of the year, since it's a lot easier than working. But since it's the Stupid Party's caucuses that determine the nomination (not the primary voters in states that have primaries) and the caucuses are controlled by the party's establishment, the probable nominee will be Jeb. Which will likely mean another eight years of a Democrat in the White House.
Walker's vision:
Dismantling the unsustainable Liberal uber-state.
Walter's two terms as governor reveal a vision the idiot above dislikes.
**insert fingers into ears here, liberals**
I'm surprised at how poorly Ted Cruz is playing in Iowa, but perhaps I shouldn't be.
Corruption and rank incompetence doesn't seem to be a drawback for GOP voters.

Hillary isn't on the GOP ticket.

In other words 'vision' is a word that only means what the author wants it to mean, and conveys no definable substance to his opinion.
Walker is not a screamer but he punches back. I am in favor of a Walker-Rubio ticket. With Fiorina a close 2nd for my VP pick. However, if it were Walker-Fiorina, the media would demonize them as the evil enemy of the working family.
Thanks for chiming in garage. It is always interesting to hear the middle school take on things.
Walker executed conservative policies in Wisc. How have they worked out?
From my perch in Calif, they seemed to have worked well.
I like the guy.
Bay Area Guy:
Besting the performance of the Liberal leviathan is damning with faint praise.
But it is a start.
I don't want "vision" from Presidents. I want them to get government the FUCK out our lives. If you want to call that a "vision" so be it. It seems to me that Scott Walker's instincts are towards the libertarian side. That's good enough for me.
If it makes the Democrats feel any better, I'm afraid of Rubio too...
BAG - there is only so much a governor can do. Businesses fleeing Wisconsin is a long-term trend that nothing can reverse.
From where I sit in WI, business isn't fleeing here any faster then they are fleeing anywhere else in this country.
It's past time that Republican candidates aggressively take on...and debunk...this 1%/income inequality horseshit that is wrecking our economy. We need to create a tax and regulatory climate that encourages the rich folks to make investments in startup ventures. Until that happens, the "new normal" will be a permanent condition.
I don't know why post-Reagan conservative politicians are so unwilling to make that argument loudly and often.

I admire Walker's style. I call it "bland ambition." Not bland in a pejorative sense but rather plainspoken and down-to-earth. He always focuses on competence and getting the job done. He lacks foreign affairs experience (unless you count dealing with hostile Illini). But hey, Obama lacked diplomatic experience too. But Obama turned out to be a narcissist which Walker definitely is not.
Walker for President.
VP: Susanna Martinez, current governor of NM. Female, Hispanic, experienced administrator, winner in a purple state. She's a good speaker, too. Only downside is that she will bring just a few electoral votes, but they are votes that the GOP will not get otherwise. Anything is better than nothing. Carly wont bring CA no matter what, and she's a political newbie Great Sec of Commerce, though.

I would say that libertarianism becomes a real vision when the rhetoric answers the audience's full demands. People who stand before an audience praising the l-word and pledging to keep government out of medicare and social security shouldn't be trusted.

Well, for someone who sold contraband to the Iranians, yes...
----Businesses fleeing Wisconsin is a long-term trend that nothing can reverse.
Perhaps your statement about businesses fleeing Wisconsin is overstated…
State Unemployment Rate Declines to 4.4%, New Post-Recession Low
The 4.4 percent rate is the state's lowest rate since April 2008 and is lower than the national unemployment rate of 5.4 percent in April. Wisconsin's total employment grew by 44,600 year-over-year while the number of unemployed declined by 33,900

Yeah, I think the Clinton foundation has biilions to pay for 24X7 internet trolling. They put in in a special 'Help Haiti' account

Ditching Walker this early? I thought you'd go all feminist after the conventions.
@ Loius - Hillary! will not get 10% of GOP women. I have more confidence in GOP women than that - they vote with their brains, not their hormones.
Rubio/Martinez--make a solid play for Hispanics. If the GOP breaks 40% of the Hispanic vote, Hillary cannot win. And think of how much fun it will be to watch her try, and speak like Speedy Gonzales in her speeches. An inglorious end to the Clintons!
"Deserves? Deserves' got nothin' to do with it."
