The dog didn't have a bucket list!

"New York Man Takes Dying Dog on Bucket List Adventure Across the Nation."

Why would you take a suffering, dying dog on a big road trip instead of just keeping him in his familiar, comfortable home? For Instagram? For cheeseball "human interest" stories in the media?

Didn't the Pope just warn people about investing too much emotion into their pets? Isn't that relevant?

Is the dog having a nice day or not. You can tell.

Eagerness comes up.

On the Dog's Bucket List:

Watch my Master have a three-some.

Watch my Master have sex with a Cheerleader.

Watch my Master lick cocaine off a hooker's ass.

Watch my Master be Happy.

I am Laslo.

Is that what Pope Francis just said? I wonder what his namesake would think?

Laslo, as a dog, you might teach your master a new trick.

They need cruise ships built for our elite pet dogs who have never even seen Europe or the Mediterranean. How cruel can we be to limit a dog's world to only local land ...like serfs.

Same reason a man would but his wife a power tool set for her birthday. He wants it.

A pet male dog really only has one thing on his Bucket List: give me my balls back.

Only if you then get to sniff the ass and it's a new and interesting ass. Otherwise, it's not dog bucket list worthy.

Look up "Projection" in your Psych 101 book.

This is a better example of real compassion.

My golden retriever died of cancer and she would stand in water up to her belly in her last months. I'm sure it made her feel better.

I'll bet the dog was simply happy to be with his owner.

Depends upon what the dog liked to do. Some of them are just crazy about car rides. And so, even if the dog was declining, 12,000 miles in a car would be just great. OTOH if it was painful for the dog to get in and out of the car, this ride was no treat. We need more facts before we opine either way.

I'll bet he has a photo of the dog wearing a T-shirt and sunglasses.

Skeptical -- From the pictures it looks like the dog had trouble sitting and standing. Getting in and out of the car must have been a chore. He did it like a trooper to please his master.

Looks like he tortured the poor dog. You can tell its in constant pain being harried about the country like that.

Screw the owner.

It's simply ridiculous to think that animals have bucket lists. This dog is terminally ill and obviously not able to walk well, and he looks unhappy in a lot of the photos. The owner did it for his own publicity, not for the dog's benefit. The dog doesn't care about seeing tourist attractions. Just ridiculous. And cruel.

Because people are losing their marbles over their dogs. Dogs in purses, dog parks, doggy spas, gourmet organic dog food, etc. Fur kids in Christmas card pictures. P.D. James' "The Children of Men" was prophetic.

My elderly dogs bucket list is pretty short:

eat
sleep
brief walk
get a treat
sleep some more
another treat
sleep
eat
sleep
move to bedroom
more sleeping

Hey, that's pretty much MY bucket list!

@Meade

My wife reminds me that our dog actually has only one thing on her bucket list, being near her people.
