Reality Alert: Army and Marine bases are surrounded by single girls who arrange caravans to meet young horny single soldiers at bars. That is how Toys R Us stays in business nine months later.
The next lesson will be about how to ask the enemy to hold still.
Just remember, Dakota Meyer was being punished for shooting back at Taliban who were firing mortars into his base camp. They did not have uniforms on, you see.
That punishment saved his life as he was not allowed to accompany his civil affairs unit into the village where they were ambushed.
He and the motor pool sergeant who was driving were left behind.
Corporal Meyer maintained security at a patrol rally point while other members of his team moved on foot with two platoons of Afghan National Army and Border Police into the village of Ganjgal for a pre-dawn meeting with village elders. Moving into the village, the patrol was ambushed by more than 50 enemy fighters firing rocket propelled grenades, mortars, and machine guns from houses and fortified positions on the slopes above. Hearing over the radio that four U.S. team members were cut off, Corporal Meyer seized the initiative. With a fellow Marine driving, Corporal Meyer took the exposed gunner's position in a gun-truck as they drove down the steeply terraced terrain in a daring attempt to disrupt the enemy attack and locate the trapped U.S. team. Disregarding intense enemy fire now concentrated on their lone vehicle, Corporal Meyer killed a number of enemy fighters with the mounted machine guns and his rifle, some at near point blank range, as he and his driver made three solo trips into the ambush area. During the first two trips, he and his driver evacuated two dozen Afghan soldiers, many of whom were wounded. When one machine gun became inoperable, he directed a return to the rally point to switch to another gun-truck for a third trip into the ambush area where his accurate fire directly supported the remaining U.S. personnel and Afghan soldiers fighting their way out of the ambush.
He later found his team all dead.
Still under heavy enemy fire, he dismounted the vehicle on the fifth trip and moved on foot to locate and recover the bodies of his team members.
With those ROE, we should have no troops in Afghanistan.
What, the whole gigantic Pentagon bureaucracy can't compile a proper all-purpose sexual consent/release form that protects our warriors against liability?
This is the PC "affirmative consent" crap they are trying to push on college campii, where drunken males having sex are rapists and drunken females having sex are rape victims, regardless of consent given.
Women should not be in units with men in them, if this is the result.
In 2002 Domitrz, then a stay-at-home dad, attracted notice from “educational experts” while delivering his “Can I Kiss You?” talk at a national conference.
I'll bet he has a lot of empathy for the soldiers and Marines.
Why don't they offer this training to Hollywood scriptwriters and directors? Has anyone ever seen a TV or movie character break the mood to ask such a question before planting a screen kiss? Hollywood is supposed to be the heart of Leftist PC culture. If every movie and TV show adopted this, presumably it would be far more effective at speeding the meme (e.g., cigarettes in 30s -70s movies). But at the risk of box office numbers. Absent that, this should be seen as typical SJW social humiliation of lower caste whites.
The military has been doing this stuff since at least the 70s. In the AF it was called Social Actions Training. It was mandatory and we had to go every few months. Sometimes it was about racism and sometimes sexism. I learned not to be behind closed doors with a female service member without multiple witnesses.
Here's the tell: he video also shows Domitrz playing out a date scenario where the female is in control. He instructs a female Marine to put her hand on a male Marine’s leg to “show that she’s interested.”
Domitrz said the most common reaction for men, “Yes, she wants me,” is flawed. That assumption means, “We completely misread [the female Marine].”
“She was only letting us know she was a little interested, and we took it much further,” Domitrz said.
Now why, oh, why isn't the female marine to blame? Shouldn't she have asked the male marine, "can I put my hand on your leg?"
The situation is always the man's fault. Nothing new here, but this is just another emasculation job, and on one of the most overtly manly institution in the United States.
When this inevitably leads to more deaths and lost battles, everyone involved should be hanged.
I'm a little curious, when its a male marine/female marine do we assume the male is the aggressor, and therefore must ask permission to kiss? Because that sounds sexist. And what about in male-male marine relationships, and female-female relationships? How would we define the agressor in those types of relationships? Would it be the one who maintains the most butch appearance?
It's been a long time, and it was the Army not the Marines, but as I recall (a) we weren't expected to kiss fellow soldiers (I guess there were WACS around, but you generally didn't want to kiss them, and vice versa), and (b) the principle teaching was about how to avoid venereal disease.
With those ROE, we should have no troops in Afghanistan.
No JAG lawyer should be allowed to write or rule on ROE without first spending several weeks walking point with infantry squads. The same goes for anyone else associated with creating ROEs.
May you lick my ball? I give you my approval. Wait, I only gave you approval to lick one ball. You need to get approval to lick the other one, or both in tandem. And I said Lick, I didn't say suck. Clearly we have to renegotiate since you are not adhering to the contract.

Completely agree.
Long ago, all the regular army 2LT's had to serve a year in the combat arms even if they were Finance or Transportation, etc. It taught them what the pointy end of the spear looked like.
I can't imagine the objective of these policies is that people will actually follow through with them. Same with college sex policies. I think the objective is to discourage casual sex in all its forms by raising the potential risk and incidentally making the process of obtaining policy-compliant sex as unsexy as possible. Neo-Victorian prudery injected into the bloodstream of the body-politic through a progressive suppository.

I see your point. However, if there are shenanigans going on I'd rather they just drum them out of the military rather than go through these charades.
18 months with the combat arms unit, usually, then you attend a transition school to learn your permanent branch. Then get a bit of experience on your home post. Then you're up for grabs for the CS or CSS branch wherever they put you. Hopefully a command before long.
The "rape culture" in the military has, in part, the same source as did the UVA gang rape scandal - Sabrina Erdely. She also wrote the definitive story of service person rape in the military. And nobody thought to question her source or story on that occasion, either.
From YouTube videos, "May I Kiss You" sounds like a scaled down "Yes Means Yes." So, you've asked for a kiss and been rewarded with one. What next? The logic of the presentation is that the sex act must be interspersed with, "Can I touch that?" and other awkward questions. None of the videos address that. Guess you have to hire the guy to find out.

Well I for one am glad that our military has their priorities straight.
After all, it is not like we are in a struggle for the survival of our civilization.
But this kills their best line: "I'm a warrior, lady, let's f**k."
This is what sexual empowerment and "my body, my choice" has given us.
The new Puritans are as much fun as the old Puritans.

There ought to be an app for that.
That's an awful lot of Marines not out on the range, in the field, in the motor pool or floating around on boats. Where they belong.
This shit is things NCOs should be teaching lance corporals while they're sitting at work tables cleaning weapons.
Notice they had to wait for Mattis to retire before they did this bullshit.
This could all be done with an i-phone app and local networking.

A clue about the lecturer:

As Derbyshire says, at the extremely fit end of the bell curve, the ratio of males to females is astronomical.
So just keep standards high and it's not a problem. No women qualify.
"Oh, man. The bullshit in [our culture] piles up so high you need wings to stay above it."
Your tax dollars at work.
All this bullshit will fade away and disappear on the day that THEY* come ...
*THEY = Einsatzgruppen, Cheka, ISIS, Mongols, Ustasha, Cossacks, Black-and-Tans, Lord's Resistance Army, Simbas, BATF, Khmer Rouge, Zombie hordes, etc., etc., etc.
Sounds like something a country does just before it loses a war.

I don't see how this would have worked at Subic. Should the Marines ever come back this sort of thing would cause puzzlement.
Well, the Filipinas have generally found Americans weirdly amusing, so this probably is just a new species of weird.

I guess it's related to that other forecaster of Military Victory.
The Army with the simplest uniforms wins.

Only in word.

So THAT'S why the Napoleonic Wars lasted so long. No one was qualified to win.

A long ways away from the 70s when US soldiers were rioting in Korea because the comfort women didn't want to "comfort" them.

Does anyone writing these rules about consent to sexual contact actually have sex? Who goes through these protracted negotiations?

This is what it's come to? Obozo is a bigger disaster than I thought.

Look at HuffPo for a heavy dose of Oxford Union 1933.
Nice!

No, scratch that. Two years. The surviving JAGS will actually be worth something.

Yep. A few thousand people die and you focus on priorities again.
Could be a stealth action by those dastardly Zero Population Growth rascals.
No sex = No growth. Genius.
Again, the Left makes prostitution a more appealing option every day.
