"Every summer, a beehive would form behind the backboard."

"Shooting the ball from close meant a close call with a swarm of bees. So naturally, I would shoot from far away, let the ball land, then sprint and go grab it and run back to my spot. Every once in a while, a bee would get me, but it never stopped me from shooting."

From Frank Kaminsky's "remarkable blog," quoted in a Washington Post article titled "Frank Kaminsky, Wisconsin basketball’s Napoleon Dynamite, and the triumph of the goofy."

I wonder if Duke will force Kaminsky to go to his left. Probably not. Okafor probably will think he can guard him. That will be their undoing. Play, and STAY on his right shoulder, force him into help from the left.

Watch how many of his buckets some from moving left.

Zero.

I liked the vids that came through your link. Have you seen Kaminsky on campus, Ann?

I haven't seen Kaminsky, but I saw Dekker once, walking towards the Kohl Center.

Frank is a lovably goofy guy. The Badgers are amazingly loose and confident. They play with ice in their veins in the closing minutes of the game, I like their chances tonight.

Good luck to Frank the Tank and all the Badgers tonight. I'm not a Duke hater but I am rooting for Wisconsin.

Where the Badger players are from:
WI - 7
MN - 2
OH - 3
IL - 3
CA - 1

Duke:
DC - 1
FL - 1
MN - 1
TX - 2
IL - 1
PA - 1
Africa - 1
IN - 1
NC - 1
MA - 1

Badgers have recruited players mostly from the region. Duke has recruited from everywhere to get the best players they can possibly find. They do this every year.

Go Badgers!

AllenS-

Wisconsin gets a big bang for its recruiting buck. The Badgers, who enter this tournament as a No. 1 seed, spent $299,000 over the five-year span, with average annual spending at a bit under $60,000. Likewise San Diego State averaged below $55,000 — less than the five-year and annual averages of the 144 schools that did not make the tournament in any of the five years. The Badgers and Aztecs made it in all of them.

"I see a lot of other people's money," Wisconsin associate head coach Greg Gard said, "and I think it would be hard to spend that much money. You really have to try."

Good article, garage. I'd bet money our guys can read and write.

Go Bucky!

Vote for Pedro.

And Napoleon Dynamite is a better dancer than Big Frank.

I like Kaminsky's reaction to the insult. In short, "it's done.'

Every summer, after rains, fire ant mounds would emerge all over the field. The maintenance crews would dose all those they could find with Amdro, but some would survive and new ones would emerge

We'd try and avoid them during August two-a-days, but inevitably a fumble or block/tackle drill would end on top of a live one and one would see boys jumping up and stripping off their pads and slapping at the swarming ants and running for the water hoses. The
kid who was allergic to bee stings would sprint to the coaches for his epi pin.

Good times, good times.

The first photo in the linked WaPo article has Frank sitting behind a microphone with the caption, "Wisconsin's Frank Kaminsky during the first half of the NCAA Final Four..."

Do they still run around with a basketball or do they play it on XBox nowadays?
