Said William M. Daley, Obama's former chief of staff, commenting on Harry Reid's top aide, David Krone, in the NYT article "Reid Unapologetic as Aide Steps on Toes, Including Obama’s."
Mr. Krone said he was simply protecting Mr. Reid. A few days before the midterm elections, he said, he was hearing from reporters that the White House was blaming the legislative strategy devised by him and Mr. Reid for the party’s lousy electoral prospects. “I’m going to go meet with these reporters,” Mr. Krone recalled telling Mr. Reid. “And he’s, like, ‘O.K.’ ”....

Next thing we know explicit e-mails of Krone (a la A. Weiner) will mysteriously appear on the internet.
If Obama and Reid were Republicans this would be a big deal.
The nastiness of little man Reid cannot stand Obama taking all the credit for the 6 year Congressional gridlock that Reid alone caused.
Circular firing squad. Pass the popcorn, and be sure to keep them supplied with ammo.

You mean the legislative strategy where the Senate does not consider anything? Ever? That legislative strategy?
Well, that strategy did leave all those Red State Democrat Senators with a "voted with the president 90%+ of the time" record, because there were never any hard votes where they coudl vote against Obama (and perhaps put Obama in the position where he might have to issue a veto).
A strategy continued just this week, when the Dems filibustered the Keystone XL bill just so Obama would not have to veto it.
One does have to wonder if that was Reid's strategy, or Obama's.
Bill Daley is the poster boy for crony capitalism.
White House Vandalized In Transition, G.A.O. Finds
The General Accounting Office, an investigative arm of Congress, said today that ''damage, theft, vandalism and pranks did occur in the White House complex'' in the presidential transition from Bill Clinton to George W. Bush. The agency put the cost at $13,000 to $14,000, including $4,850 to replace computer keyboards, many with damaged or missing W keys.
Krone sounds like a complete tool, but he is doing his job and protecting Reid from Obama's penchant to toss every ally they think might threaten them under the bus.
In other words, Krone beat Obama to the spin and that pissed off Obama.
Krone is a millionaire who doesn't need the job and whose boss lets him rip into others.
Sounds like he made Harry Reid a lot of money before becoming his chief of staff
We should have known that the Obama White House was on the fast train to perdition when Bill Daley couldn't take it any more as Chief of Staff. He was a liberal Democrat, but at least he was a grown-up and he knew how to do things. Must not have fit in, somehow.
He undercut Valerie Jarrett. That is no harm no foul territory. Once the Iranians have gone nuclear, if it hasn't already happened, then Jarrett's work is done. Maybe her protege Barry can then appoint her to SCOTUS for the fun watching Netanyahu squirm.

No joke, last week on NPR I heard a segment where they discussed how some Dems were blaming Reid's strategy for election losses because their Repub opponents could run ads accurately saying the Dem "voted with Obama 96% of the time"...and then two segments later they're casually referring to how Mitch McConnell's unprecedented obstructionism was wholly to blame for Senate gridlock. No hit of cognitive dissonance, of course.
I have discovered how you get me to like Obama, feel sorry for Obama, pull for Obama, and say "you go, Obama!"
and that is to put Harry Reid in the same article.
I would love to have a beer with Obama if the only discussion subject was What A Shit Harry Reid Is. That's a nine beer summit right there.
I don't know if mccullough is right, but there's a lot more to this story than what you read in the story.
