"... and to kill St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch and Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson — the Post-Dispatch has learned."

In that light, consider the new New Yorker cover:

The Cover is a rip-off of a Matson cartoon. This is what Matson says:

To me, the divided arch image was very obvious. Almost too easy. But good ideas always seem too easy after one comes up with them, I suppose. I would expect dozens of editorial cartoonists to come up with the same image independently," he added. "The most obvious choice of imagery, symbolism, and cultural reference for specific current events at specific times in specific places will often be the same and that will inevitably lead to very similar, if not identical, cartoons."

The Crack Emcee said...

Meade,

"But de jure segregation laws are over."

Who needs those? As long as whites act like assholes, segregation is a given. And whites haven't stopped acting like assholes.

Blacks have to wait for that, you see.

That's called "the good life"...

Poor Crack Emcee.

It's really really inconvenient that the Grand Jury did have access to the fingerprint and DNA evidence prior to coming to their decision and the Grand Jury had the authority to call/recall any witnesses they wanted to for any questions/reasons they had all the way up the end.

That is REALLY inconvenient for the race hustlers.

The response to Michael Brown's death is aimed at keeping blacks' votes for Democrats. Without 95% of the black vote Democrats cannot win a majority in the Senate, the House or a national election for president.

If the number drops to 85% as blacks realize gentry Leftists are systematically screwing the black middle class, then Democrats are devastated as a national party.

Drago said...

Can you imagine being one of the blacks whose testimony to the Grand Jury supported Officer Wilsons version of events?

How worried must they be that their accurate and honest testimony will be no defense when the local crack-sters get hold of their names?

Birkel said...

That's weird, Drago. Right there on the New York Times website at your link was a "DNA Analysis Report". And all this time I assumed The Crack Emcee was an honest broker. *snort*

The grand jury convened before DNA evidence was available. DNA evidence subsequently became available. The parsing of these facts by the Leftsists is meant to keep blacks voting for Democrats at 95%.

The lemmings are here for that purpose. March along, lemmings.

Hagar said...

B.S. Officer Wilson's fingerprints and DNA were not in question; Michael Brown's were to show that his hands had been were they should not have been.

This is true for the whole article (Slate?) that you are quoting from. It is just a string of innuendo's that there might be something shady about items of evidence that have been frankly stated and admitted to and have not been questioned by anybody. For one thing, because everything was immediately photographed and can be reproduced, if needed.

Drago said...

Meade: "Why only whites? Non-whites don't need books?"

Well, garage could use a couple books on forensic science as a start.

Drago said...

Birkel: "The parsing of these facts by the Leftsists is meant to keep blacks voting for Democrats at 95%."

Yep.

Garage turned in a virtuoso performance last night in utterly ignoring the forensic reports given to the Grand Jury and then pretending that it never even existed.

I see crack has skipped right over step 1 (ignoring evidence provided to the GJ) and gone right to step 2 (deny the evidence was ever given to the GJ).

Birkel said...

Where did The Crack Emcee get his carefullty parsed lies? Which journo-o-list started the lie that was carefully crafted to keep blacks voting for Democrats at 95%?

True: The grand jury convened before DNA evidence was available.
Lie: Therefore the grand jury was compromised because DNA evidence was not available to the grand jury.

The Crack Emcee did not invent this lie. From where did he receive this lie that he pretends to accept as truth?

Hagar summarized it the best thus far:

Hagar said...
B.S. Officer Wilson's fingerprints and DNA were not in question; Michael Brown's were to show that his hands had been were they should not have been.

The absolute worst thing that could have happened to the liars like Crack is that all the evidence was given to the GJ and then ALL of that evidence was released publicly immediately upon the announcement of the decision.

It's blown every single lie of the left right out of the water.

It won't stop them of course. There will be no payday at the end of the road if the Narrative fails.

Which it already has.

Well, he's right about the gun and washing the hands. That is from Wilson's testimony, and I thought it was strange. But Wilson also testified that his sergeant told him to go sit in his patrol car (also a crime scene), and he refused because he did not want to be singled out. Meaning he was afraid that would mark him as the shooter, and he feared for his life if the crowd realized who he was.

Kind of hard to do a thorough job of police work with a crowd of violent savages snarling at you, I guess.

To be fair, I've tried to explain the long history of Jim Crow, segregation, economic/political policies (enacted by the lefties) which destroyed the black family when Jim Crow couldn't, but these africans won't have any of it. They simply do not accept these excuses.

Crack Emcee,
I feel bad for the family and friends of Michael Brown. There have been deaths in my circle of friends and I presume my grieving experience, which was hard, gives me some insight into their grief. I am a white guy so I probably don't have any experiences that are similar to people prejudging me based on race without getting to know me.
I do have some experience with anger, self-pity, and depression. I am helped by reading the books and blogs of people who are encouragers. You can have a satisfying life of accomplishment even in bad circumstances not of your making. I am partially successful at that in my life. When I dwell on injustices in the past or my own missed opportunities I sink into anger, self-pity, and depression. It does no one any good. When I can decide I want to accomplish some task, make a plan, and complete it I feel good and others benefit, too. I have to remind myself many times that I have decided what I want and I need to adjust my plans frequently because I don't have the skill of predicting how long things take to do.
Have you had this experience? Are you commenting here as your plan to right the injustices of slavery and Jim Crow? Or do you have a goal to educate the Althouse community on the injustices done in the Michael Brown case?
I think you are up against a feeling that outlawing slavery, outlawing Jim Crow laws, and using a grand jury to weigh evidence are good things.
If you are trying to persuade us that more should be done I suggest you study the art of negotiation, persuasion, or selling. I have done so on my job. I found that the people who are successful at changing people's minds have techniques they have found to be successful.

Now is the winter of our discontent made glorious summer by this son of New York said...

Under Crack's formulation, spelled out here in the past, it is not possible for a white person not to be racist. I say then, why bother trying?

The response to the murder of Martin Luther King were urban riots. Just as in the case of Ferguson, the rioters mostly destroyed small, black-owned businesses. You see the problem for stone losers like Crack is that the hardworking small business owners demonstrate that you really can succeed in this country with grit and hard work (at least until your fellow blacks burn you out). It kind makes his endless complaints about how "the Man" won't let him succeed seem like the empty howls of a born loser, so those small business owners have to be burned out and brought down to his level of loser-hood.

Feel good to be allied with him now? Good, because you're not:

"Because white conservatives so poorly understand black people, they never quite understood Cosby or the organic black conservative tradition he was speaking out of. (I wrote about this for the magazine a few years back.) That tradition argues traditional conservative "up from your bootstraps" ideology, but has no real interest in acting as foil for white conservatives who want to downplay racism. When I interviewed Cosby back in 2007, he mentioned that his presence had been requested on Fox more than a few times, but that he'd declined. Cosby, and his black admirers, saw him in the tradition of Booker T. Washington, not Herman Cain.

This is an uncomfortable fact for white populists who'd like to use Cosby as a mouthpiece--or maybe not. If he won't say it, they'll just pretend he did."

The light half represents human lives not subject to population control schemes, including planned parenthood, one-child; while the dark half represents victims or deaths in that peculiar social institution; and the narrow gap represents survivors, both mother and, less often, child.

Crack uses the word "neighbor" in a post to talk about his people. If burning down business of your "neighbor" is how you support each other I don't want any kind if your "neighbors" in my neighborhood. Who the hell treats your "neighbors" that way?

The behavior in Ferguson is nothing but thug behavior that is taught by the prior generation. If you want things to change you have to take charge of your own life and stop blaming the white man! Look in the mirror and say the words you say all the time and ask yourself if you would buy your argument.

Crackster, I am on record that I am a white racist. I don't deny it, quite the opposite. I know that a large proportion of American blacks are shiftless, violent criminals, and those who aren't have "cousins" who are. I direct my actions accordingly. None of my best friends are black, and that's fine by me. And the last thing I want -- the very last -- is to call some violent savages like the ones in Ferguson "neighbors". They might as well put bones through their noses and carry spears. You want to call them neighbors, you're welcome to 'em.

Now you have a nice day. From the way you're writing, I'm guessing you must be sober today. One day at a time, right Crackster?

The Crack Emcee said...

Michael,

"Burn down your own liquor store! Your own supermarket! Your own drugstore!"

I love this "your own" shit - in a place where few "own" anything.

Here's where you're talking about:

Some of the towns in St. Louis County can derive 40 percent or more of their annual revenue from the petty fines and fees collected by their municipal courts. A majority of these fines are for traffic offenses, but they can also include fines for fare-hopping on MetroLink (St. Louis’s light rail system), loud music and other noise ordinance violations, zoning violations for uncut grass or unkempt property, violations of occupancy permit restrictions, trespassing, wearing “saggy pants,” business license violations and vague infractions such as “disturbing the peace” or “affray” that give police officers a great deal of discretion to look for other violations. In a white paper released last month (PDF), the ArchCity Defenders found a large group of people outside the courthouse in Bel-Ridge who had been fined for not subscribing to the town’s only approved garbage collection service. They hadn’t been fined for having trash on their property, only for not paying for the only legal method the town had designated for disposing of trash.

Cool Valley is a town of 1,194 people. It is 84.5 percent black. Last year the court issued 1,871 arrest warrants. More incredibly, there are another 5,998 warrants from previous years still pending in Cool Valley, or more than five for every resident. In 2013, the Cool Valley Municipal Court collected $375,425 in fines, or $314 per resident. That’s about 34.5 percent of the town’s annual budget.

“There are now 26 different ways you can lose your license in St. Louis County,” he says. “There used to be five. You can now lose your license for things that have nothing to do with driving. We definitely have a problem with over-criminalization.” One local attorney pointed to a particularly good example of how poorly-written laws can be self-defeating: In Missouri, you can lose your driver’s license for failure to pay child support, a penalty that makes it nearly impossible to get or keep a job. And that of course makes it difficult to resume paying child support. The delinquent parent ends up in jail, and the child is no better off — and is probably quite a bit worse.

Lovely life,...

Folks, the key to Crack, and Eric Holder, and Ta-Nehisi Coates, and Sharpton and Rangel and other race-mongers is this. For a half century, since 1964, they have been living off white liberal guilt. But now we look at the threats of riots related to Trayvon Martin's case, the actual riots in Ferguson because some honky cop dared -- dared! -- to exercise his natural right to self defense, and the continued complaints about how racist the US despite electing a totally not up to the job black man as President, and we think maybe this has gone on too damned long. There still are plenty of white liberals out there wallowing in their alleged guilt, but the rest of us have grown up and moved on.

I do.

You support the racists that burned "Black Wall Street" down. You support the race hustlers, the ex-KKK party, the purveyors of Jim Crow, the Eugenicists.

You support the people who took a huge chunk out of the black middle class through a number of government policies. The wealth of Black Families dropped farther than any other subset after the mortgage crisis and during the Obama years.

You support the people who are segregating our public schools and shut down the programs that allow black people to escape them.

Yes the republican party is stupid and they don't know what they are talking about. Rand Paul is finally trying to open that line of communication and show how the government and progressive policy has destroyed Black opportunity and wealth. I think the Republican establishment is a false flag operation to divide people who value freedom and opportunity.

But the democrats and progressives are actively destroying black opportunity and freedom. And whenever something like this happens you trot yourself out there like a good little tool. The obvious aim of this was to cause racial division. The worst actors are out in Ferguson and they are meant to give all black a bad name. No reasonable person would say the LAPD doesn't have a problem. There are problems. But Darren Wilson was a poor target and Brown was an even worse hero. The left knew he was a thug, they had the video of him robbing the convenience store. There are legitimate problems but when black people act badly it does no good to call white people who call them out racists. Stop acting like there are teams and it is black people against white people. Team up with the people like me that see it the same way and you might get somewhere. Stop letting the progressives use race as a political tool.

Lawlessness happens when the law breaks down. That sounds like a tautology. It’s not.

When the law offers no recourse, a lawless response shouldn’t come as a surprise. Politically, such responses are usually counterproductive, providing fodder for those who favor discriminatory laws and policing. But when police departments routinely view young black men as an enemy population to be stopped, frisked, harassed, humiliated, beaten and occasionally shot, young black men can’t reasonably be expected to respect law enforcement. When drug laws incarcerate hundreds of thousands of young black men for nonviolent offenses — in clear contrast to the indifference with which police departments viewed the Prohibition violations of the white, urban poor of the 1920s, or the powder cocaine violations of the upper-middle class today — young black men may reasonably suspect that the laws criminalize skin color more than they do a banned substance. And when district attorneys and juries decline to indict or convict the police who kill young black men, even when audio or video evidence suggests the killing was, shall we say, discretionary, young black men might reasonably conclude the law provides them no protection from armed authorities run amok.

Yeah, he's been like that for years. Yet, Althouse commentators love him.

They're high on Crack.

If you are really, honestly concerned about governments that terrorize and murder their own people, you's get more bang for your buck by fighting against socialism, fascism, and communism than by fighting suburban police departments. Just sayin'.

Of course you are correct. But for Leftists it is always about power. Fen's Law.

as I told you last night, bring something, anything, to the table. You just sit and snipe. You don't like my comments. So what?

I must confess, I sometimes make the mistake of engaging him. Although that is happening less and less. I find myself skipping over most of his posts. Neither enlightening nor entertaining. Just the same old stuff. I used to wonder what his motivation is, but I've gradually lost the ability to care about that either. I don't think he gives a shit about blacks other than himself. Case in point: blacks make up 13% of the population, but have a disproportionately high rate of abortion. Yet he sides with the abortionists. Willing to climb a mountain of dead babies for his personal attainment now. disgusting when you think about it.

It's about power. That's all it has ever been. That's why Fen's Law accurately describes the sitaution. It's all battleground preparation for the accumulation of power,

Dead babies: give me power.
Poorer middle class: give me power.
Blacks rioting: give me power.
Et fucking cetera.
Ad infinitum.

So: Crack is still continually shitting on Althouse at his site, then coming here to her site to stand upon her guest chair and pontificate about character. You don't need self-awareness when you have self-rationalization. Evidently.

When I heard about the trouble in Ferguson, I remembered an observation by the white, liberal newspaper columnist Herb Caen (1916-1997) in the San Francisco Chronicle on January 30, 1970: "We sympathize, sincerely and generously, with the blacks, the people trapped in ghettos, the staring and the hopeless, and yet everything we try to do turns out ill-advised, insulting, condescending or so far wide of the mark as to be pointless."

Things haven't changed much.

It's time for fresh thinking -- without rancor and without political correctness. Political correctness obscures the truth.

Too many Americans (black and white) are stuck in the past. Today we have to operate in an interconnected world. Our big challenges are overseas. Dealing with domestic racial issues year after year after year is not good use of our time. Stop complaining. Identify the problems. Solve the problems quickly. And move on.

It's a Judeo-Christian principle to judge people by their behavior (e.g. morality, content of character). I think this is the first religion or moral philosophy that departed from conventional forms of tribalism.

Gahrie:

They are exploiting psychological displacement. Specifically, that they are not responsible for the commission of crimes by virtue that someone else forced them to commit the crimes. This evokes empathy from people who may share similar circumstances. They simultaneously feel a brotherhood and empowerment. The former promotes tribalism and the latter promotes sanctimony.

After months of news stories about the white police officer who shot the unarmed black young man/teenager/child/cherub, the lede for the news story in the post - remember the post? - is conspicuously not

Two black men indicted last week on federal weapons charges allegedly had plans to bomb the Gateway Arch and to kill St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch and Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson, who are both white - the Post-Dispatch has learned.

Believing it is the duty of white persons to 'solve the Black problem' is the problem.
What do you want American society to look like? Where has a similar society existed before?
You can't have separate but equal. You can't have separate but unequal. You can't have integrated and unequal. You can't have integrated and equal.

Margaret Sanger thought it WAS the white race's problem to solve the black race's problem.

Oddly, her answer greatly resembled another deep thinker's answer to The Jewish Question...

Too bad Crack managed to derail this thread so soon!

Because a far more interesting question is: granted these guys spoke as malevolently as they did, how do we *know* they weren't just trash-talking fools being fed ideas and resources by undercover agents?

Darren Wilson was allowed to drive himself back to the station. He was allowed to bag his own gun as evidence. He was allowed to wash the blood off of his hands (to destroy evidence). He was allowed to be judged by the grand jury without finger prints or DNA evidence presented.

From that righty, anti-black website known as npr:

"Another important piece of evidence comes from DNA analysis. It revealed that Brown's blood was on Officer Wilson's gun (a Sig Sauer P229) and on the inside of his police vehicle."

It seems that the St.Louis County investigators and their federal counterparts obtained a lot more DNA and blood proof than Crack would want them to have gotten. An obvious dislike for white police officers provides no excuse for Crack's blatant racism.

White men invented the idea that all men were created equal quite a while after slavery was introduced to the European colonies.

Ah, no. The legal and moral concept that “all men are equal” was invented, not a couple centuries ago by the American founding fathers, but by stoicism-steeped ancient Roman jurists more than 2,000 years ago.

"Controlling the narrative" is a win for some people.

Many years ago I read a post-election interview with a Democratic candidate for some local position. He had lost the election. I lived in an area where both parties regularly won so he probably had a chance to win.

He had been quite vocal about some issues the winner did not see as very important and may have never mentioned.

The losing candidate conceded the election on election night. He told the reporter that his efforts were not completely wasted because the other candidate was forced to talk about issues he would not otherwise have brought up. Simply "controlling the narrative" brought him satisfaction.

Crack, I don't see how Wilson could have benefitted from the actions you focused on. But I do see that you are controlling the narrative here. I that something of value to you?

Oh yeah, and Crack, I agree with Cosby as you quoted him too. I don't deny racism, I just don't think that there is some other economic system out there that is going to magically solve the problems of racism.

But that authenticity was no protection, was it?
