The whiny nurse could have been so much nicer and at the same time responsible -- she could have said she would not actively do anything that would harm the people in the community where she lives and that was quarantine enough. So today she went bike riding -- fine, as long as she keeps her distance from other people and keeps away from using any community property.
In third grade, we learned about various Indian tribes in Social Studies. The curriculum included a take home art project in which we could make things like Indian artifacts, dioramas, clothing, etc. I chose to make a small birch bark canoe (probably also inspired by E.B. White's "Stuart Little"). Anyway, I made a small canoe using a piece of birch bark which a carefully removed from my mother's birch tree.
Man did I catch hell! I didn't know it wouldn't grow back.
“I’m California’s most experienced Ebola physician. I won’t take a single chance,” said Dr. Bucks in a New York Times interview. “My wife is away, my dog is away — there’s no downside to a little personal convenience, 3 weeks will pass.”
And then we have the nurse in Maine. ---------------
Maybe the misbehaving nurse quarantined herself there in West Africa which is why she is so sure she won't get infected. She is a Obama crony after all -- incompetent and all for show.

Man, I wish Barbara Boxer were up for reelection next week. She'll be running again in 2016 in the upcoming "feminist surge" and hopefully losing. 20 years is too long.

Amazon Prime my good man. Rent for 2.99, buy for 9.99. Once you buy it, 'the cloud' will remember you own it, forever. I just added it to my watchlist.
There are two endings to Kind Hearts--the one approved by the Hays office and the English one. I was never sure which one I preferred. The outsider was self reliant, inventive and hard working. He deserved to prosper. The figures ahead of him in line of succession were self indulgent toffs and good riddance to them all......The triumph of morality in the Hays version was anything but a triumph of morality.
'Tall ships and tall kings three times three. What brought they from the foundered land over the flowing sea? Seven stars and seven stones and one white tree.'
Chopping down an overgrown Cherry Tree next week, that's dangerously close to the house. The tree might not get replaced as we've considered building an attachment to the house on that plot of space. Birds got quite a feasting of the cherries. They left the pits for me to sweep. Happy birds, angry homeowner.
The one sure thing that has come out of this ebola brouhaha is that this country has no plans, and certainly no programs in place, for how to deal with a real epidemic when the next one comes along.

Racist!
Has the misbehaving nurse in Maine gone to a restaurant? Or is she all talk?

I think she is nutcase.
The real question: Has anyone been catcalling that nurse?

Rats. Kind Hearts and Coronets DVD won't play past chapter 14, on either computer.
Reader comments don't indicate a problem, so I'll bite the bullet and just order another set.
Return is a hassle ("printer required" plus "find a UPS store").
Mary Landrieu claims that she's losing because Louisiana voters are bigoted misogynists.
wow
"Return is a hassle ("printer required" plus "find a UPS store")."
Yes. My return or not calculation is always, "Would I be willing to pay x to avoid doing y?"
This is how rational (and decent) people behave:

Yeah, Landrieu went there. The situation must be dire and desperate.

In memory of/apologies to Jack Bruce.

But think of the things like furniture, etc. that you could build with that tree.
Michael Barone has an article up about all the things the Democrats are not talking about before this election day.
How many more can you think of?
