Bach's wife did not write the Cello Suites.
A fragment of Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Electra has been identified. Nikumaroro island. Very interesting indeed. looking at the TIGHAR website, what struck me is that this organization was formed over 20 years ago, and even with verfiable evidence you can put your hands on, they still refer to the theory that Earhart and Noonan landed at Nikumaroro as a hypothesis only.
And apparently, "climate depression" is a real condition. For climate "scientists"
I'm surprised you haven't made a post about Tim Cook coming out as gay (not that I personally care to comment about it, or feel that there's much interesting to say about it)
Did you hear the news? That Apple guy is GAY! It really is over!
Big Ten football has fallen off big time in the last 10 years.
Michigan football, especially, is abysmal.
I don't think the Big Ten champion will be one of the 4 teams in the new college football playoff championship.
A sorry state of affairs.
Ron Fournier says quarantining ebola nurse is just like interning Japanese during WWII. First, I didn't know it was possible to catch being Japanese and, second, WHAT ELSE AREN'T THEY TELLING US!!!
$9.99
holy smokes! a flying car
looks like it might actually work.
Austrian.
I remember when popular mechanics said we'd all have flying cars by the 1990s. sigh
"RecChief said...
holy smokes! a flying car"
That's just a plane. I'm holding out for more a Jetson's thing.
Who can spot the grating lack of coherent thought in this paragraph from the NYT piece yesterday on all of the problems facing the Obama administration (I'll provide hints):
Early stumbles in the government’s handling of the Ebola crisis as well as its belated response to the Islamic State militant group have fueled speculation that Mr. Obama may shake up his team, which is stocked with battle-tested but exhausted White House loyalists and cabinet members, like Secretary of State John Kerry and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, who are viewed as less cohesive than the “team of rivals” in Mr. Obama’s first cabinet.
How many elections will the Democrats steal next week?

"How many elections will the Democrats steal next week?"
Enough.
I'm holding out for more a Jetson's thing.
Where's My Jetpack? That's a fun book.
You know how The Jeffersons would open their show with a song about a deluxe apartment in the sky? And you'd watch the show and it's the same damn apartment I've been seeing for 50 years. It's Lucy and Ricky's apartment.
The Jetsons, now that's a deluxe apartment in the sky.
that flying car is cool though
"I'm surprised you haven't made a post about Tim Cook coming out as gay (not that I personally care to comment about it, or feel that there's much interesting to say about it)"
Why is it not boring? The only interesting thing is that he's coming out so late.
Hey, Crack!!
I was pulled over this afternoon for being a 50-something white guy!!
It seems that I was in the neighborhood right after the local bank was robbed. I had a back pack, and I was observed jumping into a car parked a couple blocks away from the bank. The police had a description of a 50-something white guy in a pair of jeans, and a hoody. My sweatshirt doesn't have a hood.
The cops circled the car, and looked in all the windows. They did not request it, but I opened up my back pack. They never asked for ID, but I'm pretty sure they ran my plates.
My white privilege has been violated!!!
Too late. Wisconsin already played Illinois.
Underneath criticism of Congress as unproductive or do-nothing is the fact that for a legislature, productivity essentially means making new laws. Some things, like appropriations for spending on an annual basis really should be done every year, but otherwise a succession of productive legislatures implies and ever larger and more intricate web of laws.
Perhaps the legislature could ameliorate this tendency by creating a committee specifically tasked with undoing old laws for which the purpose has passed so that the amount of obsolete legislation eliminated could count as productivity as well.
Tim Cook is gay? That explains the gay-dar app in my firmware. I've been trying to explain it to my wife but she keeps saying that I doth protest too much...
OK, one thing i'd like to see AA comment on is Paglia's ditty on "It's A Mans World & Always will be, written last year about this time. The money quote
It’s a Man’s World, and It Always Will Be
The modern economy is a male epic, in which women have found a productive role — but women were not its author

Does civilization creep ahead with unstoppable inevitability or are our advances hard fought?
Lucien, the Legislature of the State of Texas convenes regular sessions on the second Tuesday in January of odd-numbered years, with maximum duration of 40 days for a regular session. If you're looking for a change to Congress, this would be a good start.
http://www.ncsl.org/research/about-state-legislatures/legislative-session-length.aspx says Montana, North Dakota, and Nevada also meet biennially. Having lived in
lived in Kansas, Florida and Tennessee, it never occurred to me that a legislature would meet less frequently than annually, but I like it.
Sorry, 140 days not 40.
