I also can't add anything to the previous comments. I don't this action adding any gravitas to the biased mess at NBC & MSNBC.
Whoever handles HR at NBC should be canned as well. When you consider examples like Ann Curry's departure and this "death by a 1,000 paper cuts" with David Gregory. NBC HR is a joke.
It would be so simple if there wasn't the requirement of political fealty to the democrat party.imagine a person who really grilled politicians of both parties.
Talk about doubling down on stupid. Todd is as big a Obama lickspittle that Gregory is. The executives might as well cancel the show now rather than later.
Todd is a tad more likable than Gregory so there's that. The best choice, however, would have been Josh Earnest. Great name, good hair, well spoken. The President's spokesperson rarely has to work on Sundays, and this job fits right in with his other duties. Something for NBC to think about if Todd doesn't work out.
I wonder if the Todd's and Gregory's of this world know how they are viewed by a significant slice of the public, and if so, whether they give the slightest consideration to it at all.
expect to see a short term upick in ratings. Until people people figure out that NBC traded one unlikeable partisan hack for another, then back to the downward spiral.
The problem with Meet the Press is that it isn't. It is Meet the Progressives. And who needs that on Sunday morning when you can get it 24/7 over at MSNBC. It is boring. It is redundant. Chuck Todd can't change that.

Meet the new BS, same as the old BS.
Pete Townshend never quite got that right.
Well at least the NBC wardrobe department will not incur any additional expense, they both wear the same suit - empty.
Well good for Todd, I guess. He seems about as useful as a bag of spit, but so was his predecessor, so it's a push and a pish.
Can't add anything to the previous comments. Wake me when there is a new host. Another one.
"Meet the Press"? Or "Pravda"? Does it matter any more?

Does it matter?
Yes, it does, Russert, who set the standard on Sun. political shows was always going to be hard to replace
I am relatively certain that with the deck chairs in this particular position, the Titanic cannot sink.
And if that doesn't work, we can push the deck chairs just a bit further Left.

And is leaving NBC.
Can this really be entirely his fault?
""Dodgeball in a blame factory."
Maybe Todd can add some excitement to the Sunday show by bringing a Bushmaster to the set. Sans magazine, of course. His predecessor covered that.
...imagine a person who really grilled politicians of both parties.

I'm a Spivak man myself.
The ABC show hasn't been diddly since David Brinkley passed. There was a guy whose cynicism was off the charts.
In other news AOL announced that they will use Netscape as their browser.
Replacing little Dem pussyboy Gregory with another little Dem pussyboy.
Btw, hard to believe Gregory has been there for six years - damn I am getting old.
Would have been interesting if they had replaced him with someone really smart like Newt Gingrich is.
Yawn!
From MSNBC! Man, will he be DIFFERENT.

Gregory was abysmal. I still turn on Meet the Press first out of habit. But I rarely stay more than a few minutes.
I wonder if the Todd's and Gregory's of this world know how they are viewed by a significant slice of the public, and if so, whether they give the slightest consideration to it at all.
Wilbur:
I am quite sure they think about all the people who dislike them "Know your place, peasant!"
Or something close to that.
Jake Tapper.
Is it too late to prosecute Gregory for magazine possession? Or is that treatment we only reserve for military veterans?
William @ 6:00,
Wow! Shot dead center. Otherwise, tapping my forearm elbow to wrist, same as if ever was.
Thanks. I was thinking that they might add Chelsea Clinton to get that male/female dynamic going. Plus she would add balance to the reporting.
Is this show still on? It' like hearing they changed editors at "Look" magazine or something.
