And to make it even worse, the things that make this place interesting or the things that need to get done, no one else has any interest in. Help the poor? Pish-posh, let 'em help themselves. So proud.

Thanks for posting those. It's where I am now and, though I've been hesitating to sell my car, I'm going to do it immediately. I got robbed yesterday and have been managing extreme depression since. And this struck a nerve:

"I had become a louder, more desperate, excessive person. When I tried to sound positive, it came out furious."

I just wrote about how good sleep is now this morning. It's my best friend. I even look forward to the sensation of falling asleep, the kind of stars-in-the-head thing that happens before you nod off. I hate waking up.
