"I don’t care how much you disagree or agree with Texas’ Wendy Davis, you have to agree that this guy, Erick Erickson, is a real jerk and is really lousy at being a spokesperson for his views."
His tweets read: "So Abortion Barbie had a Sugar Daddy Ken. Not exactly the bio she claimed." And: "Wendy Davis is upset you want the truth and she can't handle it. She's so cute when she's lying."

There's that double standard again.
HOW DARE THAT JERK CALL PEOPLE BAD NAMES!
Check out the way the Left treats women like Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter and get back to me. The term "abortion barbie" is mild. And as for sugar daddy, I wouldn't have used that either...but I sure as hell would label Davis a child abandoning gold digger.
Erick Ericson was not being disrespectful to women.
He was being disrespectful to Wendy Davis. Wendy Davis earned that disrespect, with considerable effort on her part and on her behalf. You sort of have to work at it, to earn the sort of disrespect that Wendy Davis is now quite rightfully getting.
It is one of the great errors in modern political debate, to transmogrify disrespecting a particular (political) woman, into "disrespecting women."
And Greta van Sustern ought to know better. She's a rotten television host; one of the worst on the Fox News Channel. But she is also a trained lawyer and a litigator who used to be skilled in that profession. Or maybe she was less skilled than I imagine. Now did I just commit an offense of "disrespecting women?"
I suspect this has more to do with the politics of immigration, and Erickson's fervent opposition to amnesty, than sexual politics. There will be multiple attempts to discredit both sides before the real battle begins. McCain has also copped a beating recently.
Bad manners are bad; But far, far, less bad than suppressing truth.
BREAKING NEWS: Greta discovers people are snarky and/or mean on the internet.
lol. I managed to misspell not one but two names; "Greta Van Susteren" and "Erick Erickson." My apologies.
Who is that guy?
It seems he being disrespectful to A woman. Not women.
If I say Greta is an idiot, I'm not saying all women are idiots. Just Greta.
See the difference?
She disrespected herself he's just pointing it out.
Honestly, Erick Erickson's one of the biggest prick's on the net. I blogged this, 'Greta Van Susteren Attacks Erick Erickson'. Having said that, was he disrespectful? Only if giving as good as it one gets is disrespectful. Remember "Caribou Barbie"?
Greta is a big fan of El Rushbo! She is the only interview he will do! El Rushbo has been a jerk and a repeat offender as regards being disrespectful to women! Just Sayin!
Megan Kelly has kicked Greta to the curb and Greta is trying to generate some noise! Someone call Lena!
Like Greta, I'm pretty shocked that someone would be so disrespectful to female politician.
Next thing you know someone will suggest a female politician be raped or get their mouth filled with piss.
Better stop thugs like Erik before things get out of hand.
Poor sensitive women. God, can we just repeal the 19th amendment?
Caribou Barbie was funny and Abortion Barbie is funny. Treating women as delicate creatures is sexism. Greta is a wimp.
I'm looking at Wendy Davis and I'm looking at Barack Obama and I'm concluding that maybe there should be a moratorium on electing graduates of Harvard Law to anything above dog catcher.
Is Eric Erickson the candidate? I thought it was Greg Abbott. In that case, who cares?
This is either a smoke screen to hide Wendy Davis' lies or else she is an extremely weak wallflower to wilt under that mild criticism. Wendy Davis is a Harvard trained attorney and she is supposed to be the victim because a blogger criticizes her? If Harvard graduates are really that helpless, perhaps she should demand a refund from Harvard for her tuition.
A more accurate description would Bimbo Abortion Barbie.
Don't forget Fauxahontas.
Davis says she was once a trailer park girl with an ignorant mother like most Texas women...and then she went legally blonde to Harvard Law and will soon be Governor of Texas.
That is a great screenplay. The dumb jerk that thinks he is better than a woman will be a failure. Greta saw the movie.
He has a history of saying terrible sexist things, but that's why lots of conservatives like him.
The second clause is true. Erickson is really lousy at being a spokesperson for his views. Don't become the story, moron.
Unless, of course, that's your career plan.
I find Erickson distasteful on our local radio station, so I'm not surprised.
Still, this has come up just above the Monica post, which casts Monica as scheming and calculating to bag the most powerful man in the world. And last week we had the current President who rolled out an initiative on date rape that casts 20-year old women as too weak and unselfconscious to realize when they've had too much to drink.
So are women weak, in need of protection (and hence unfit for high office) or are they scheming and conniving and able to take these hits?
Women weak & in need of protection? This is what our president believes? Libido!
If it's 25% on campus, campus # should be higher, but they aren't.
I am probably in agreement with much of Erickson's politics but have never cared for his methods or personality. I think I'd use the word asshole as a good descriptor.
But Greta likes to spin up GretaWire so its a game between two forces going in the same direction.. "look at me"
I disagree at him being lousy at what he does. He advocates and speaks to a very loud and angry audience who are upset at social progress of women and homosexuals. He is very good at capturing that demographic.
I remember Greta as one of Sarah Palin's more vocal defenders in the media. And Sarah Palin, of course, is perhaps one of the most prominent pro-lifers in the country. And now here is Greta, defending Abortion Barbie, too!
Greta is doing a good job of not playing partisan politics. She defends pro-life Republican women and pro-choice Democrat women.
Of course what is notable here is that Greta is defending women. Regardless of your politics, regardless of what you say or believe, if you have a uterus Greta will defend you. It's rather old-school feminism. Kind of interesting.
And one might say this "Barbie" name-calling is misogynist. On the other hand, I recall our media did a helluva lot of talking about shoes!
I'm a Republican, and a pro-lifer, so maybe my bias is showing here. But it seems to me the misogyny against Palin was far more intense (and wide-spread) than any misogyny against Wendy Davis. Indeed, our media is filled with female voices. This idea that women are silenced in the 21st century is rather absurd. So when all the chicks gather to talk about Wendy Davis and her shoes, it doesn't seem misogynist to point out how non-serious that is. It's girlie behavior and it's not hateful to point that out.
If women in the media don't like "Barbie" jokes, then they shouldn't do Barbie-like segments on women politicians.
Greta is known as "horseface" in these parts.
[clutches pearls]
Nobody makes Barbie jokes about Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
While I do remember a lot of My Little Pony jokes about John Edwards,
People use their sexuality to advance their careers. If you are pretty, doors will open for you. Using sex to increase your own power creates hostility in other people (ugly people!) And so this might be pushback against the beauty of Palin and Davis. They are both highly attractive women, and using their sexual attractiveness to obtain popularity. Hence the Barbie jokes.
This is all rather junior high school stuff. I think sex upsets people (more than we realize). As more and more women seek political power, and use their sexuality to advance their agenda, we will see this fight more and more.
Historically ugly men (Lincoln, Taft) could win the presidency. We are in a far more shallow era, where your looks play a large part in how successful you are. This might be an unintended consequence of feminism. We are now paying more attention to the sexual attractiveness of men (and mocking them for it) and the sexual attractiveness of women (and mocking them for it). As women become more and more politically powerful, sexuality seems to be entering our politics in more and more ways.
Here is John Edwards grooming himself. Hilarious.

Exactly.

Well chuck, when you are disrespectful to a woman and use sexist language to disparage her, it's disrespectful to more women than just the one you are choosing to be disrespectful to.
It's social progress to dump your kids use your husband to pay for school and stick him with the bill? Then after he pays for the bill divorce him?
Poor Barbie. Bratz dolls have the lips for presidential "service," and all Barbie gets is flack from all the pundits.
Barbie even has multiple friends that don't look like her, and among women that can be as hard as math...
Just try being the representative for all women when you're just a doll!
Greta's daily schtick is "OMG why can't they get along and reach compromises". And she never criticizes the left for their excesses.

that's what some feminists would call "empowerment".
Agree with Steve R, as Kissinger said about the Iran-Iraq War “It's too bad they both can't lose.”
