Best. Part. Of. Summer.

Grilled bratwurst, hot, with juices exploding as you bite. Smothered in kraut and ketchup.

Ketchup? That doesn't sound right! How can you mix sauerkraut and ketchup? You're teasing.

I always used to say that the way to flush out the Noo Yorkers in a crowd was to put ketchup on a hot dog and see who screams. But ketchup on a brat with sour kraut? I am not buying it.

It's delicious! Try it!

Only 5.5 months 'til the Brat Fest. I cannot wait!

Only thing missing is a bottle of chilled Point Special Lager.

Are you and Meade on the road again?

I'm having this.

Half power, 2:30 on a side.

The soy brats are pretty good these days too.

We grilled a couple of lovely steaks on a kettle grill (just like that one) tonight. Baked sweet potatoes, red wine. That be dinner.

I used to put ketchup on my brats and dogs. Then, one day when I was about 35, I looked at my ketchup smeared dog and felt a deep revulsion. Haven't put ketchup on a sausage since. Ch-ch-changes....

"Are you and Meade on the road again?"

And the question arises because... when you see a giant-truck-o-brats, your first thought is: I wonder if they've left Wisconsin?

I agree - mustard and sauerkraut are better on a brat - but what's with those pickles?
