At the Blue Eye Café...
... you can talk about whatever you want.
And if you have some shopping you need to do, I would appreciate your kind gesture of entering Amazon through The Althouse Portal (which lets you make a contribution to this blog without paying any extra for your items). And thanks to all who've been shopping this way. I notice and feel encouraged!

I enjoyed seeing the list'o'stuff people were buying through your Amazon portal. Found a few good books that way.
My comment on the selfie that has Obama in it. (Actually, it's a picture of a selfie being taken).
So Junior High.
Is that a Siberian Husky?
American Hustle - I thought it was about the Clintons.
Mandela ceremony interpreter called a 'fake'
JOHANNESBURG (AP) - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela's memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday.
Big Mike, that is indeed a Husky, looking deferential. Do not believe the dog on that subject. It is faking.

Looks like one.
Ours wears a harness like that too. If you just put the lead around her collar she'll pull your arm out of its socket. The harness forces their shoulders together making it uncomfortable for them to pull hard.
My six- or seven-year-old Blue Cross plan was canceled. Kathleen Sebelius is in some House Committee hearing right now, lying about that. Everything's fine; it didn't start well, but it'll go good soon. The people are well served. Costs are going down. More people will be insured on 1/1/14-- no, she didn't say that; she was asked it, but she's afraid to answer the question.
What an asshole! My family was canceled because of Obamacare. That's what the short letter from Blue Cross says.
What a bunch of lying assholes!
Nice dog pics.
I just got a letter from Blue Cross saying that they will automatically transfer me to a new plan, one similar to the one that was canceled, on 1/1/14, unless they hear otherwise from me by 12/15/13. That's encouraging. Blue Cross is trying hard to get through the hell called Obamacare.
I called Blue Cross, and they are swamped. The person who took my call basically said "you're OK, Bob". That's good news to my family. Here's a company doing what its customers need.
Now, I'm on top of this problem. How many like me (independent customers) will simply be left out in the cold? Is there free health care out there to be harvested, like strawberries on a mountain? My son tells me that his high school talks about "free health care" and how that's why Obamacare is really a good thing. Can I get me some? 'Cause mine is gonna cost at least $20,000 in 2014.
Oh, and by the way, I signed up for a new plan with Blue Cross in November. They can't find it, though they billed me for it and I paid for it. They're swamped.
The new plan will cost me about $3k more per year.
Hey, Bob. Blue Cross cancelled my family's insurance too. And they were going to move us to a plan that cost significantly more. But then Obama changed his mind, and now the Oregon State Insurance Commissioner says we can keep our old plan, so Blue Cross says they are going to let us keep it. Isn't that wonderful? I just hope Obama doesn't change his mind again.
