But you need to be more careful about your bragging, apparently, because now the Department of Buildings is coming after his giant rooftop hot tub, which he's ordered to remove, because he didn't seek approval.
Lesson: First, seek approval from the government. Then, seek approval from fun people and beautiful girls.
Paraphrase of the lesson: The government wants to be your beautiful girl.
ADDED: "10 girls to one guy" = "Surf City" x 5.
IN THE COMMENTS: Crunchy Frog improves on my bad math:
10 girls for every guy = Surf City in binary.

A Swat team with 30 commandos in full battle gear may be uninvited guests at Mr Brilliant's next bash.
It's not nice to fool with a lower level regulatory bureaucracy today.
couldn't have happened to a 'nicer' guy

I am ugly, but they’re attracted to the brains. I’m a rock star among geeks, wonks and nerds.

One 'black swan' does not a genius make.
Not be be picking nits, but your math equation is wrong. Surf City X 5 would leave you with 10 girls and 5 boys. The ratio remains the same when you multiply. Closer to say Surf City cubed. But still off...
The lesson - keep your mouth shut when it comes to matters where government can screw you over.
Pretty happening Jan and Dean documentary of my mid 60's life Perfesser. Believe it or not, that was pretty much the way it really was back in surfin' beach towns circa 1962-'66. The same cars, the same surfboards, the same everything.... until the Summer of Love. Then it all changed in ways that landlocks will never understand.

Wow Dr. doom's celebrity has gone to his head! What does NYU think of that, I wonder?

Somehow it sounded better coming from him.
So, it is more equal to (5(2)/1) Surf Cities? Though, that doesn't show a per/ratio relationship.
They told me there'd be no math!
I've got to go with the building inspectors on this one, though I think it is more properly the job of his insurers.
A 10 person hot tub probably holds at least 1000 gallons. That weighs about 4-1/4 TONS.
If he did not reinforce the roof beforehand, it is probably not designed to hold anything near that weight, especially not concentrated in such a small area.
Sounds like a serious safety hazard to me.
He is lucky the roof did not collapse already.

I went to a truly awesome house party some months ago that was much the same. I haven't been to a really wild party in quite some time, and was momentarily dumbstruck when a very lovely young woman in a bikini rested her head on my shoulder and said she was glad to meet me and would like to get to know me better. I am a fat middle aged man with a wedding ring, not ugly but definitely three leagues below hers. Something was way out of whack. Later the friend who had brought me informed me that the host was a rich playboy who routinely hired hookers to entertain his friends.
richlb is confused. There's nothing wrong with your math. Clearly, you are referring to the Surf City ratio, 2:1. Since ratios are fractions, multiplying that by 5 gives a 10:1 ratio.
5*(2/1)=(5/1)*(2/1)=10/1
