It's all over but the drying.
It will be ready to walk on in 8 hours, and we've got an 8 day break before we move the furniture back. So... ideas for things to do on a big, empty, shiny new floor. Don't say bowling!

Contra Dance!
Obvious: dancing!
The acoustics should be very lively - sing, make music, declaim?
If the windows were mirrors, you could hold an aerobics/yoga/pilates/whatever class in there. (I guess when it gets dark outside and the windows are reflective, you still could!)
Slide around in your socks. I think that's probably the number one thing that happens on new floors. I remember my parents had the sort of wood floors that you had to wax periodically, and so every couple of years that would happen and then we'd get to "help" buff the floors by putting on old socks and sliding around. We had an inordinate amount of fun with that.
And of course just sit and enjoy your big empty space! We just moved to a much larger home than previously and until we got new couches the family room was just completely empty. It was nice. Restful to the mind. (With two kids and all their associated clutter, we don't see a lot of empty spaces!)
Ballroom dancing, to a re-elect Walker soundtrack
Dancing. Sliding around in socks. A really big puzzle. An indoor picnic. yoga. Laying out sewing patterns. Sorting out clothes to figure out 'keep' and 'donate'
Stay off as long as possible. The finish will get measurably harder over a period of months. It's an exponential decay process, so most of the curing occurs in the first week, but it will be even harder in a month.
I'll repeat my vote for a dark paint, at least around the windows. Dark paint there will draw your eye outside, where it belongs.
Your floors look spectacular.
Here is what you should do during the eight hour drying window.
Rollerderby! You could go by Ann A. Mosity for your derby name; as
jammer for the Mad City Rollers!
Have the dogs play fetch. A dog sliding on a slick floor can be quite amusing.
Let the dogs in...
Dancing, of course.
Party at Althouse's place!
The dance floor opens in 8 hours!
Dancing of course!
Something to buy in the next eight days in order to preserve your new floor.
Has anyone guessed Roller skates? It's like mountain bikes but with smaller wheels on each foot.
fire up the Glenn Miller records and dance, of course.
Sock "ice skating". :-)
Open up unfiltered comments and make that room into an echo chamber!
Curling?
Some kinda dancing!
Twister!
Square dance?
Make a video where you read comments aloud with various forms of background music and/or costuming! Who doesn't want to see Hippie Ann reading comments to the tune of "Incense and Peppermints"?
a video of "live" comment responding!
Meade reads 'em, while Ann replies. (with cute dogs in video also!)
No dogs!!! Their nails will do nothing but harm.
Beautiful!
Basketball?
Square dance or Polka!
As someone else noted, do as little as possible. Dry does not mean cured.
No one has said the obvious.
So I won't either.
Enjoy the new floors! They look great!
Sock sliding for distance or channeling Tom Cruise in Risky Business. Get Meade to don some Ray Bans and righty whiteys and put on some Bob Seegar. Snap and post pics.
It's very romantic. To use the very 1960s term, you could make whoopie.
Gorgeous! What a great place to be online, almost like being outside.
what surf-ed said.
Beautiful. Lighter than I expected, which may make it easier to graduate the paint color - a shade up from the floor, a shade down from the wood.
Would like to see the long view showing windows -and- back wall... from where you normally enter the room.
No dogs!!!
No Capes!
Sorry, that's just how my mind works.
Slip-n-Slide anyone?
Curling!
curling with something non-scratching ...
