"Angela Merkel is seen in Germany more as a political being than as a personal being."
Quote from an article about recent photos of Merkel in a bathing suit and with the very rarely seen man who is her husband.
ADDED: Remember there was that one time we got to see Hillary Clinton in a bathing suit?
Talk about the personal is political!

And that was so staged and phony, you can see it 20 years later and still shudder.
But what's the big deal with Angie in a tank suit (actually, she looks to be in pretty good shape)?
Wasn't there a shot of her wiggling her bare behind into one about 10 years ago?
They concealed her cankles!
The first comment at the linked article says it all:
If German voters were as ignorant as Americans they'd be able to focus on the meanigless details of their leaders' personal lives and not cloud their thinking with the details of economics.
Typical German couple on holiday showing why they remain fully clothed in public nearly all of the time.
Maybe we could ask our leaders to have business suits tattooed on their bodies.
Maybe it has something to do with a media interested in hiding the truth behind the failure our government has been and how much better off we would be without 3/4ths of what our federal government does?

Don't lawyers have their suspenders surgically grafted onto theirs?
Maybe the Germans had a bad experience in the past with cults of personality and don't want to repeat that mistake.
Looks like you can't stop talking about Hillary this morning.
After Obama and his lapdog media, I also want to be like the Germans. No more celebrity presidency.
They tried that back in '33 and it didn't work out too cool.
As we're about to see here.
What is it with European men and Speedo's?
The establishment media is going accept and disseminate whatever staged photos, propaganda, misstatements, and baldfaced lies the ruling elite puts out without question. And if that fails to convince ... well, there are the Candy Crowleys and their ilk standing ready to jump in and do instant damage control. We have to develop our own personal BS detector because they won't.
Ah yes, dancing on the beach....if I had a nickel for every time I've seen that in real life I'd have.....a nickel!

Middle-aged men should not wear Speedos.

Few things are a greater turnoff on sex than seeing German tourists on a nude beach.

............... but not her thunder thighs
As Dennis Miller put it:
"That couldn't be more of a marriage of convenience than if they installed a Slurpee machine at the foot of their bed."
I still laugh anytime a feminist supports Bill "the Rapist" Clinton.
Enjoy the decline, morons!
What makes me laugh everytime I see that photo was how incredulous the liberal media was on every lie fed to them by the clinton's. Kind of like whats happening today when obama shits something out of his ass. They are always there gleefully willing to eat it up. Some things never change, eh?
Referencing your later post, the photo is The End of My Lunch.
Historically, Americans objected much more strongly against adultery than did Europeans. In aristocratic cultures, the double-standard was normal. Not in front of the servants, but okay otherwise.
In general, Americans, being more democratic, were uncomfortable with such a double standard.
Whatever the deficits in her appearance, when you look at Merkel you do not think that this is a woman bent on world domination. She has a comfortable old shoe appearance. She looks far from sexy, but she has a companionable, pleasant quality. That's a look that a lot of older woman should cultivate. Don't try to throw the heat. Go for the slow curves and the change up.
