Creepy Boston lockdown.

The photo-op.

If you'd shown me those pictures a quarter century ago and told me that's what Boston will look like after a terrorist attack, I would have thought: Oh, my God! The neutron bomb!

It's funny to watch the cops not even look toward the sound of the shots.

There have been about ten shots in the past couple of minutes.

Bosnian Muslims were often the city folks who converted to please the Ottomans and tend to be well educated. The Serbs hated the Turks (still an epithet in Serbia) and also hated the Bosnian Muslims who they considered to be turncoats.

Read "Black Lamb and Grey Falcon."

Don't be that way.

Use offal instead.

Liz, he could have been shooting at them too, they did say he was moving around in the boat. Or under the tarp, whichever.

Firing into a higher end boat...I wonder how many shots are getting lodged in the boat itself. It might be difficult to penetrate. The helicopter should be firing from above.

Here's the important thing for those in office or leadership positions in first-responder/law enforcement to remember.

They asked for the public's cooperation in this case and the public reacted in good faith for a good reason. Leadership types need to never abuse this trust in the face of tragedy.

That trust is a very frail thing.

Shutting down a whole city for this is an extravagant overreaction. There should be hearings on what happened after this is over and people held accountable for the waste -- of time, money and human energy. If I were in Boston I'd ignore these pronouncements if I was more than a few miles away from Watertown. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to get to work or the hospital to visit a sick relative because they're looking for a 19 year old on the run with a gun 25 miles away.

Too bad our founding fathers didn't anticipate any need whatsoever for the citizenry to be armed.

We'll have to write an amendment to the constitution, get it passed through congress, and then a super-majority of state.

The Capital will be a mosque by then...

The idea of a bomb is just emotional confusion, not reason.

It'll take a while for us to get there.

I wouldn't have thought Americans would have been so complacent about our deep long economic slump and high unemployment rates. But Obama's 2012 win and the continued lack of serious concern about the economy suggest that Americans are willing to accept this as the new normal.

And if that includes several jihadist attacks a year, well, what'r'ya gonna do?

I keep looking for the tipping point. However, I've come to conclude we're going to have to hit the wall *hard* and then we'll rethink things. Only then and not before.

That's a law enforcement mentality.

Any penalty should be up for consideration of any valuable info he has on other Muslim terrorists and perhaps a detailed and promptly provided history of his conversion to active terror, his brothers, and any family members or other influences.

And fuck the champions of Victimhood demanding - "Lets leave it to the Victim Families with their total moral authority to make the call".

No..they do not trump what is optimum for national security and the best interests of all Americans.

And lets hope that the Boston people stop Holder's people from lawyering up the enemy jihadi now in custody.

Noise at night attracts attention from the neighbors. They call. They ask questions. They call the popo.
Sneaking into a boat on a trailer in the middle of the night is quieter but useless when the boat owner has a security camera aimed at the boat.

Well said and so true. In a very real way, the terrorists won something with that, similar to the 9/11 hijackers. The bomber brothers leveraged a few hundred dollars worth of supplies (and in the other case a few box cutters) into multimillion dollars of economic damage. We didn't have much control over that on 9/11, once the planes were in the air, but this one was a self-inflicted and entirely avoidable wound.
