I grew up with dogs and was never partial to cats. However, 18 months ago I became the caretaker of a cat for a friend whose changing residential circumstances prohibited her from keeping her cat and I am definitely a convert! I won't say I've renounced my liking for dogs, but I've gained a new appreciation and definitely a love for cats. Such funny, smart, quizzical animals!
The Algonquin Hotel that had the famous Round Table also had a famous fluffy white lobby cat (or descendant) that strolled around the lobby that opens on the restaurant area.
So guess who decided to end that 90 year tradition so he could save the health of the world from a cat? Bloomberg, the nasty idiot, did.
I was watching an old Amos and Andy Episode. Sapphire buys a new dining room set explaining she wants to entertain a higher class of guests. Kingfish schemes to pay for it by selling his friends meal tickets at his home, He introduces them deceitfully but never lying about their occupations. Sapphire asks "So my husband tells me you are a painter. What Do You Paint?" The man answers "Kitchens". Kingfish jumps in and say 'Dem's dem little cats'

Yea, but Hitler liked dogs, and who is more famous today, him or your pansy pussy lovers?
Eww. I dislike cats.
Warhol doesn't count, he was a dog person (dachshunds). Picasso had dogs. Gertrude Stein had dogs. Arthur Schopenhauer had a poodle named Butz...

Pictures of pussies being stroked have always captured interest.
"Meow, I'm gonna have to give you a ticket on this one. No buts meow. It's the law."
I think one also wrote a musical. Damned talented animals.
You still see the occasional cat at the Edward Gorey House in Yarmouth Port.

And no mention of Hemingway!
And no mention of Hemingway!
Salvador DalĂ with his pet ocelot, Babou.
Ha! I didn't realize the ocelot name on Archer was a reference to this.
I always wanted an ocelot when I was a kid.

Love dogs.
Love cats.
And no mention of Hemingway!
Were they only dealing with visual artists, though? Maybe that's why they excluded him.
I'm a cat person now living with a joyous beagle and a loving chow mix.
I prefer people and critters who don't need my attention.
I'd like to see a photograph of this cat's human.
Cats are like women.

Such fancy names. I give my animals plain human names. Like Leonard and Stella. Cats are uppity enough.
"Dogs are family;
cats have staff."
