Bill Richardson says "maybe I’m a Neanderthal" and "Scarlett Johansson is beautiful."

On "Meet the Press" yesterday, there was a panel discussion about Obama's saying that Kamala Harris "happens to be by far the best looking attorney general in the country," and the lumbering, bumbling former governor of New Mexico came out with this:
You know, maybe I’m a Neanderthal, but I thought that the president’s comment was harmless. It was a political speech. He talked about her accomplishments, he talked about her competence. And then he threw in that line, you know, you are at a political event. What are you going to read her resume? So my point is this, you know, political correctness has reached a point, you know, it’s out of control. Am I going to be criticized for instance if I say that a movie star like Scarlett Johansson is beautiful? Are they going to go after me? Probably.
Does anyone really feel like going after Richardson? We were watching the show yesterday, and when he said this, I just laughed. I said something like: Why do they even have Richardson on the show? Why doesn't he know better than to go on and display himself like this?

Scarlett Johansson is beautiful... Bill Richardson is dumb.... What else is obvious?

(By the way, did you notice that Richardson went to North Korea this past January?)

If only she could meet me, I'm sure she'd fall in love right away.

He may be dumb, but he is still correct.

Richardson visited, Rodman accomplished more.

Harris is beautiful and dumb. Scarlett is beautiful and dumb. Richardson is just dumb. What do the three of them have in common?

Any woman wants to announce to an audience that I really melt her butter, I'm okay with that.

It's obvious that Bill Richardson pissed off his campadre base by privileging Scarlett Johansson over Jennifer Lopez.

It's hard to get upset about what a self deprecating Faulknerian idiot man-child said. It's like getting mad at a birthday cake.

Our political debate has come down to whether or not some apparatchik is pretty/handsome or not?
Really?
This is important?
16 trillion in debt and the political establishment wonders whether some cooch is hot or not?
Fucked doesn't begin to describe what we are.

I don't understand what Obama did wrong. He said a woman was attractive. All women, even smart and accomplished ones, love to be complimented on their looks. Being jealous creatures, other women pretend to be offended and cry foul.

Yes yes democrats - the modern democrat party is essentially Scarlet Johassenn's brain.
Oh so cute, but really dumb.

Not dumb, politically old news and rather damaged goods.

Richardson is making the first move to consign PC to the dustbin of history. Too many Lefties, besides Shotgun Joe, have been snared over the years and that's not the way it was supposed to be.

It was only supposed to be applied to Republicans, Conservatives, Christers, a few thinking Jooz, and some Conservative Libertarians.

I don't know why he was on there and I don't know what dumb stuff he might have said. But his remarks as quoted by AA seem okay, nothing really dumb about them.

Maybe you can disagree with him but it doesn't seem like they were dumb.

I am hoping that la Tejana Susana will run for Attorney General when she leaves the Governor's Office, and we may find out a bit more about who, what, when, why, where, and how much during Richardson's terms in office.

I haven't been reading any other posts on this subject, but isn't calling a woman attractive the worst thing you can do for her career.

Like AllenS just said... Obama said what he said to purposedly stir up controversy to deflect attention away from his failed policies.

These are the people that are always preaching about equality, holding it up as the organizing principle of everything and yet cannot see the plank? in their own eye.

37 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

39 And He spoke a parable to them: “Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch? 40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. 41 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye? 42 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother’s eye.

That this country is fucked.

That the media are retarded.

Bill Richardson leaves greasy footprints, but he is not stupid.

Nomennovum said...

What else is obvious?

That the chances Bill Richardson would ever get to fuck Scarlett Johansson just fell by a order of magnitude.

Whenever a politician starts a phrase with Maybe when he or she is talking about himself/herself, you can pretty much guarantee that, in truth, the maybe is not needed.

Richardson apparently hasn't availed himself of the many on-line photos of movie stars without makeup.

What he should have said was "Miss Johansson, like many women, can be made up to look beautiful, given enough makeup and talent in the hands of a makeup artist." Course that doesn't have the same effect.

Many, many co-eds on the State street are WAY more beautiful than Scarlet Johansson, and most movie 'stars'.

What kind of makeup gives someone a body like hers?

Being a corrupt politician is a crime and Richardson was definetly corrupt. So I place no value on anything he says. He belongs in jail. I don't think anyone feels that what Obama said was all that wrong its just that if I said something like that in my professional capacity, I'd be in trouble. He gets some knowing chuckles.

Bill Richardson is not dumb, obnoxious, yes, but not dumb. Among other things, however, he is a bully and a liar, the latter referring to his claim of being drafted by a major league baseball team, a claim he nurtured in public for 30 years or so until being exposed by the Albuquerque Journal. Richardson did beat Joe Biden in the Iowa primary and then left New Mexico in a financial mess. All this I know from watching Richardson in New Mexico from a variety of settings including newspaper columnist.

Isn't the entire point of an actress (in modern movie-actress-celebrity terms, rather than in Serious Thespian terms) that she's "beautiful"?

It's a qualification, and thus it's relevant.

In an AG, it's irrelevant, and thus it's a little weird to bother bringing it up.

(I don't see it as problematic, especially since I believe the intent in the President's case was purely to be complimentary.

But it is irrelevant to her qualification for her job.)

Her bod is nice, sure, but quite routine. Many not-pretty girls have killer bods, but if the face is not pretty, most don't look further. A pity, that.

ricpic said...

Always go for the buttafaces with the red hot bods. They'll be almost as hungry as you are, none of the doing you a favor crap.

What would have been funny would be if if he said: "Call me a Neanderthal, but that Janet Napolitano is pretty hot.", and said it with a straight face and never gave in.

I hope you other girls that voted for Obama have noticed that he is not giving you complements or taking you on vacations. I would never do that to my 20 million women. I treat each and every one like the special treasure she is.
