"This is so much worse than raw eggs in milk that I drank for the Marilyn Monroe diet, I kind of can't believe it."

"If pneumonia were a food, this is what it would taste like."

This = 2 raw eggs beaten into orange juice, because that's what Greta Garbo had for breakfast.

Why not cook and eat the eggs and drink the OJ rather than ruin both?

Salmonella! Yummy.

Rocky (I) drank a raw egg concoction in preparation for the heavyweight fight with Apollo Creed. He was a bloody mess (externally) afterward. Not sure what his internals looked like.

Isn't "this" the recipe for "Orange Julius"? Haven't had one in twenty years and I can still taste it >|~P

It's hard to make a lot of things at home without raw eggs. Such as mayonnaise and eggnogg.

Here's an article that claims a microwave can be used to make them safe (but you probably won't be able to successfully sue anyone if it doesn't):

Raw eggs + milk = moisturizer.

Raw eggs + orange juice = exfoliant.

Any questions?

I call bullshit. No one in their right mind would have tasted that celery loaf after it had festered in an oven for days.

...and carbonara and homemade ice cream. Salmonella in eggs comes predominantly from the shells, anyway.

I love when people try to claim that our culture's emphasis on thinness is somehow a modern invention unheard of 50 or so years ago.

BTW, wyo sis, ITA

Keep in mind Garbo and Marlene Dietrich supposedly had a thing for each other and spent a vaca hiking nude in the Bavarian Alps, so she was probably into a lot of weird-tasting stuff.

The Baron can tell us.

The idea that raw eggs are somehow nutritionally better than cooked eggs is misguided. There is the chance of foodbourne illness, but that only happens rarely. What will always happen is that the avidin from the egg whites will bind with biotin (one of the B vitamins) and thus deplete this nutrient from your system.

Raw egg in glass of milk + sugar and nutmeg == eggnog. I drank a lot of that as a kid.

two raw eggs in four ounces of muscatel (three fingers, as i recall)was the breakfast of my grandfather for many years before he died in his ninety-third year.

Marlene Dietrich allowed American soldiers to have sex with her after USO shows to boost morale. I heard that from a coworker that had a Silver Star for holding a Belgian town (almost singlehandedly--only one other guy left could move, and he was hysterical for the days they held the town being totally green 'til this engagement) during the Battle of the Bulge. He was in a hospital unit where the USO show was held (from machine gun fire to his shoulder) after the battle and some officer told him to come with him and he assigned him to be Dietrich's escort as long as she was there. She saw twenty or so guys at a time and had them think about their wives and girls back home. At one point he told her that she shouldn't be doing this and she said she couldn't fight, so she had to do what she could do--or else not live with herself. She asked him why he did the things he did. He counted the experience as the most objectionable thing he had to do. He said that he did not take her up on her offer to him--just having been married before he shipped out. He did hold her, though, and sniff her hair telling her he forgot what it was like to hold a girl. He had his Silver Star in his office and I had no reason to doubt him.

As a kid, my family had homemade icecream made with raw eggs every weekend throughout the summer. We never had any problems because of it.

As a teenager, I would have loved to have had the Marlene Dietrich treatment. Every summer.

Didn't know that about Marlene Dietrich. In honor of her doing her bit for the war effort, I had to watch this.
