"Democrats Try And Fail To Catch Conservatives Cheering Ashley Judd's On-Screen Death."

"Judd supporters hoped her on-screen death would make for some viral video when played before the audience at annual conservative gathering, and promised BuzzFeed a recording of the event, however it came out..."

Incredibly lame, but "Democrats"... which "Democrats"?

But kudos to Buzzfeed for getting people to link to a story about nothing happening. Think of all the times various politicos are there, ready to catch things that can be used against the other side. All the gotchas should be massively diluted by all the times nothing happened. Let this one nothing stand as a reminder of all the nothings in the mix.

They'll say it happened anyway. And many will believe them.

This is a prime example of the low opinion people rightly have of the politically active.
The only safe reaction anyone who wants to stay alive politically can have is no reaction.
But then, I suppose no reaction will turn out to be the wrong reaction if it's played right by the media.

Audience plants must be more expensive than I thought.

"Try and catch" is hendiadys.

She's got a movie out?

She's so far below the radar, most people missed it entirely.

And, if you want to see somebody gloating over the death of someone on the other side of the aisle, you have to go to Kos or DU, or Puffington

At least, out of common decency, and protecting their "tolerant, compassionate" image of themselves, the proprietors shut down the comment boards.

PS Has the Proprietress here at Althouse ever had to shut down comments?

I know we've had the occasional Bloody Sunday, but that was because someone couldn't find the sacrosanct switch.

Okay, great. So you've got one out-of-context video showing no one cheering. Now, can you prove the movie clip wasn't cheered other times it was shown?

No?

Didn't think so.

You know your show business career has fallen when you are in a film whose main claim to fame is the large number of former high profile stars appearing.

The distressing thing is that the US left is out to destroy its enemies, not to engage in debate and convince voters.

Destroy.

That's the only reason gay marriage, global warming laws, national health care, and gun confiscation are 'inevitable'. There s no discussion, only coercion.

It's a massive power grab, for the thousand year reich.

Except for Leonidas (will he play an Armenian with a Scots burr in this one?) and Easy Reader (they're still on the A list, I think), there isn't a name I recognize.

And Ashley's so far down the list, if you blink, you'll miss her.

The really distressing thing is that they've already finished the process. The victims just haven't figured it out yet.

I always liked Ashley, she seemed to have overcome a childhood raised by a ditzy, slutty mother.

One of my favorite movies is 'Where The Heart is' where she plays a nurse who has about six kids mostly by different fathers. She's no less liberal then the rest of Hollywood. I doubt she'll go anywhere in her political career, especially if they're resorting to gotcha so early in the process.

I thought the ditzy, slutty one was Wynonna.

She's an actress. The character died. Not the actress. If she'd been playing a villain, one would expect the crowd to express approval at the character's death. That approval would not necessarily translate to the actress.

edutcher, Wynonna is the fat one with self esteem issues. I think she's been married for a while, her husband lost a leg in a motor cycle accident recently.

Nobody cares about the Judds. Ashley Judd. Wynonna Judd. Naomi Judd. Judd Nelson. Judd for the Defense. Judd Apatow. Judd Clampett.

Nobody cares about any of the Judds.

Get over yourself sweetie.

What! I care deeply about the Judd's.

It's my life darlin. Not really. Just random chit chat.

Eric the Fruit Bat said...

I think I speak for many when I say there is a Judd for whom we all care deeply.

I tried to do a search about the Judds, but autocomplete returned a bunch of links to sites about juggs.

IOW, a win for autocomplete.

Ashley Judd in 2010 accused those who buy Apple products of 'financing mass rape.' 'Apple is known for the clean lines of their products, the alluring simplicity of their designs' Judd wrote in the article. 'Dare I….go so far….as to suggest…this signature cleanness is stained by the shit and urine of raped women’s leaking fistulas?'"

Revlon doesn't make anything to hide that kind of ugliness.

When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.

Speaking of juvenile behavior, isn't the federal government running an anti-bully campaign? They lead through example.

The conservatives did a more deadly thing to Judd: ignore her.

I think it's sort of interesting that Ashley Judd would agree to be in the sort of movie they'd show at CPAC at all.

I mean... shocking, right?

Hey, at least she used fistula in a sentence.

So... Rick Castle goes to Paris to get his daughter back - Javier says:

"What? He thinks he's Liam Neeson now? He's hardly Ashley Judd."

Good thing I wasn't drinking something or it would have been right out my nose.

Paddy O said...

Synova, that was one of the great episodes ever. The writing for those episodes was brilliant, almost cliche, but pulling a twist at each step. Great show.

They'll say it happened anyway. And garage mahal and Ritmo will believe it--or at least repeat it incessantly.

Synova said...

Paddy... cliche?

"Rick, I am your father."

LOL!

The writers have way way too much fun with that show, true. Was the "writer" he met in Paris a cameo? I thought it likely but didn't catch it.

Ashley Judd is not going to get elected. There's a lot of hate for her in Kaintuck.

I just remember her as the failed stripper in "Ruby in Paradise" who morphed into the kitsch selling retail sales person as a success story. Of course since I've actually you know worked in that town I recognized the type right away. There is a reason Neil Boortz called it a Panama City Tramp Stamp.

CPAC failing to applaud te death of a character also means we can differentiate between roles and actors. Apparently many actors do have this problem. This is why the Holiday Inn Express and Alec Baldwin jokes are funny.
