Still #1.

The 2012 Law Prof Traffic Rankings are out.

(These rankings only cover blogs with displayed Site Meters, and that notably excludes Instapundit, who would otherwise be #1 by a wide margin.)

I look at Instapundit as more of a conservative/libertarian news aggregator than a blog anyway.

Okay, okay. Oscar's a loser and Ann's a winner. I already knew that, even before Oscar shot anybody. Now back to cute dog and puppy posts, please.

I hadn't looked at the Site Meter for awhile. 58 million is impressive, I remember the ticking down to one million with some drama. Seemed to take a long time. Who knows, it might be over 100 million if you had kept blogging American Idol.

So actually you're #2? Bidenesque!

Congratulations nevertheless.

Many congrats, Madame La Professeur.

You put a lot of thought and work into the blog.

It shows and we appreciate it.

A slow economy is a target rich environment for some of us. Congrats Althouse - and thanks Mr. President.

Would it be 2 or 3, also behind Volokh?

Regardless it's quite an achievement.

Just imagine if all 11,784,142 "visitors" asked to use your bathroom and looked inside your medicine cabinet.

Without having looked, I'd expect Zipf's law to apply.

I don't surf the shark infested waters outside of Althouse, so I'm wondering what's the general breakdown in those rankings in terms of Left to Right leanings. I'd call Althouse to be on the Right. The commentariat definitely is, and Althouse is just smart and honest enough to have started leaning Right too, although that creamy center does leak out often enough that you can't confidently put her in your pocket.

OT but apropos of an earlier Althouse post: Marty Peretz crushes The New Republic today in the WSJ. Google The New New Republic to find it - yes two News. Direct links will take you to a subscription page, but they let in anyone who comes from google.

The Volokh Site Meter doesn't work anymore, for whatever reason, but look back into the old rankings when they were on, and I was at #1. (Here.)

You're number One for a very good reason, your extraordinary mind. Thanks again.

Do you really think this is meaningful? I don't really think you qualify as a law blog (though by the same reasoning, neither would Instapundit, which is by far my favorite blog). Sure, you are a lawyer, and you occasionally blog on legal matters, but there is far more blogging here about politics and culture than about law.

Althouse is far more interesting, just because she isn't a typical conservative, or maybe conservative at all, heheh.

It's her independent thought and the courage Althouse displays in expressing it and the way in which she continues on, despite the massive blowback she gets from her more conservative commenters at times. That's what makes this blog a gem and number one.

She takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. She deserves the number one spot, she's earned it.

Nope. Clearly it's the tits. I mean come on, look at the flat-chested competition.

Congratulations for work well done and kudos for the humble recognition of Glenn Reynolds place in the law blog stratosphere.

Congratulations. Well deserved.
