Poulenc: Les Mamelles de Tiresias

Shouldn't Titus be popping in about now to say "Tits"?

Holy shit! Shouldn't you by buying a yacht with all this, and sailing around the Mediterranean entertaining us with international photos, video and adventure? You are getting too rich to to show us fat guys on hunger strikes in Madison.

We have a zeroll at home, but it doesn't have that big honkin' logo on it. It's also kinda broken, so maybe I should get a new one. I'm always looking for one at Estate Sales, to no avail. Why anyone would buy something like that new is a mystery to me.

"You are getting too rich..."

Left-wing ideology.

Don't live on resentment and envy.

Here's my Amazon Associates slogan:

You only need to care enough
To think of me when you're buying stuff

Or:

You don't have to give me one thin dime
Just think of me when it's buying time

Althouse- you coulda been an advertising bigwig.

Nice poetry.

Sounds like you are becoming a work-at-home retiree soon. Except your day job must be very stimulating.

Incidentally, Les Mamelles de Tiresias was written to encourage French people to have babies. This was back in the days when oppressing lady parts was still cool.

Did you know that I worked for a year, before law school, at the famous ad agency J. Walter Thompson?

I wasn't writing copy. I was in "international media." (It involved zero creativity.)

I just want you to be rich, so I can live through your blog, and stay home and never take off my pajamas.

I want video of protesting Athenians, unionized Sirens, and Meade washing graffiti off the Parthenon.

I confess I had a twinge of camera envy when I saw those 13 purchases.

Bagoh ... skilled in sarcasm.

I think the Professor knows that, but wanted to post her semi-clever slogans.

Yeah right, I have seen the documentary TV show called Mad Men - you were probably smoking cigs, drinking scotch for lunch and boffing the boss. :)

MM - I don't understand your comment. If you have one that's "kinda broken" and can't find one yet at any Estate Sale, why wouldn't you buy one new? It costs $12 (and a cheap, breakable scoop costs $6).

Maybe you could really kill it if you figured out a way to get the Department of Homeland Security to buy its ammunition through your Amazon portal instead of quickly formed front companies.

I have a hard time understanding why DHS needs the equivalent of 30 years worth of Iraq/Afganistan war fighting stocks, other than they are trying to corner the market so the people won't have ammo for the arms they have a right to bear.

The broken zeroll is functional -- the end (non-scooping) of it broke off. It just looks bad.

We have a second ice cream scooper, but it doesn't do as good a job as the zeroll.

People bought 13 cameras in ONE DAY?

I think I bought a phone set for my home from a link of yours yesterday. I had it in the cart and clicked from your site to do the purchase finally. Not sure if it counted. Does this mean I get to dictate editorial content?

I want snowstorm pictures and I want them today! I live by Lake Michigan and I heard the snow is worse inland...

Dr Hubert Jackson said...

It goes without saying that pithy commentary should come attached to aforementioned snowstorm pictures....

Meade said...

Sorry, Ben, I don't see a phone set in the last 7 day report. No soup for you!

"Poulenc: Les Mamelles de Tiresias" is a rather short opéra bouffe – under an hour. It is sometimes a double-bill so that the audience feels that they get their money's worth.

Last time I saw it, it was paired with L'Homme et son désir, op. 48 a ballet score by Darius Milhaud. The posters said:
L'Homme et son désir – Les Mamelles de Tiresias.

I used to live in resentment. I went to school at Alabama when Joe Namath was there. He is supposed to have had sex with about 500 girls while he was there. I thought that if not for him, some of those girls would have wanted to have sex with me. The fact is they probably wouldn't.
I eventually got over the idea, that what other people got did not cost me anything. Actually there is a limitless amount of pussy.

I guess if I buy something off my cart it doesn't count...

I'll try again next time.
