The two most powerful political figures (Gingrich and Clinton) were genuinely awful people who hated each other and tried, at every turn, to grind out small victories at the expense of the other. And yet the system worked, probably because a shared attribute of those two horrible people was their narrow-minded egotism; they wanted to win reelection and would do almost anything to take credit for any successes.

As for a female president -- no big whoop.

After idiotic hyperbole and broken arms from patting themselves on the back for "voting black" (!1!!!1!) I sure would like to get back to a federal government which was operating with the Constitution in front of them. I simply do not care about a president's pigment or privates, I care for competence and the rule of law (neither of which is present in our present POTUS).

I also would prefer a president who was not expected to and / or did not feel the need to comment on every last news item.
