Those are the dorkiest shorts I've ever seen.

I am distressed to see no entrails. This is false advertising.

Also, what is that weird seam on the back? Did they mess up the cutting pattern on a batch and have to go back and fix it with scraps?

I was going to put in an Amazon link to say that plus fours are the only adult-appropriate shorts outside of beachside resorts, but unfortunately, it appears no one sells plus fours anymore. Wikipedia tells me:

They are often seen on golf courses, and frequently worn with argyle socks, silk neckties, and dress shirts/sweaters.

But I believe this to be a lie.

Complain, complain, complain. They are marked all the way down to $19.99 from $48.00. What more do you want? A pair of Men's Frickin Plaid Chino Short? How about Men's Fruckin Nuts Too Short?

Come on, guys. I'm just trying to help you with both your comfort and your trend. It's 2013. Time to get pinted AND heatered.

kimsch, I know. This one had me laughing:

Measuring for entrails January 8, 2013
By SlicKitty
When you measure your entrails, remember that these are shorts, not pants. You only need to measure the SMALL intestine. Do NOT measure the LARGE intestine. Most people forget and measure both. You'll be sorry if you do. Entrail measurement is very specific.

In other news, they need to make these in other colors, to be more inclusive. Not everyone has the same color entrails. Diversity is the wave of the future. When I received my pair, I realized that my entrails are purple, pink, AND beige, so these don't go with all of my entrails, but they're still useful. I would buy them again.

Robin, yes, but this is where we shop through the Althouse Amazon Associates portal. It's the manly working man way! (Non-ladder-climbing working man, that is.)

Oh, and thanks, everyone, for your support.

It's easy to be repelled by entrails -- or men's shorts.

It's more difficult to repel with them.

Will not consider your advice on shorts as long as you continue to condone the wearing of cameras on heads

I'm thinking Althouse would approve of any shorts for men offered through her Amazon portal.

Can you plunge your hands like weights into the pockets of these entrails?

Too funny, watched "Machete' last week on FX. I had coffee shooting out my nose at that scene.

I was looking pinted and heatered before it was cool.

If you are confused by the selection, get these instead.

Make sure you specify whether your yong is dressed right or left.

If you want to be able to wear shorts without worrying about my disapproval, finally you can!

You're buying an indulgence.

I'm foreseeing a line of men's clothing from Ann - approved and certified not to offend those of studious tastefulness.

That's like check kiting. You can't have it both ways!

Jay Gatsby approves of bespoke plus fours.

Barbour still sells plus fours and Ralph Lauren occasionally does them. I'm not sure any golf fashion houses do them anymore, since Payne Stewart died.
I had a pair made from some old linen pleated pants for a 1920s themed croquet party.

I wouldn't be caught dead in those sissy shorts.

No. Just -- no. When the thermometer hits 80 here in GA I'll start wearing my jeans shorts - yes, jeans shorts - and I'll be blissfully unconcerned about anyone's misguided views of my clothing.

Boy do I miss Payne Stewart!

Shorts should end just above the knee. If they extend below the knee, then you're wearing dwarf pants.

McTriumph said...

Jacksonjay
Who doesn't, he was top drawer, a truly class act.

McTriumph said...

I agree, shorts covering the knee make the wearer look like Huck Finn or and extra in "Porgy & Bess".

How disgusting -- it's "rappel", not "repel"!
