A bit of personal historical ephemera. During WW II my father was stationed for a time @Camp Wolters, TX just outside Mineral Wells. My mother hitched a ride on a troop-train down from St. Louis to marry him. They got married in Paris, TX and "honeymooned" in Muskogee, OK (lol.) (Or was it the other way round?--no matter, either way Muskogee will always be embedded in my memory for that if for no other reason..)

Things done in 2012 ..... visited beautiful Belize in February. Including the Mayan ruins. Remote and awesome.
Exposed to "free" national healthcare while in Belize. Not a pleasant experience.
Hope to visit Israel in 2013.

Your No. 3?
Elevated Chip Ahoy to number-one- commenter status, replacing the aging Titus.
That wildly tilted dining room in Muskogee would be an ideal hideout for the Joker or the Riddler.

I'd never declared anyone else #1, I don't think. Not publicly. But privately, #1 was Palladian. And, really, #1 is Meade. Of course!
Tank's list (begun):
1. Manhattans and Ribs at Buddy Guy's Blues Club in Chicago.
2. Chicago Botanical Gardens.
3. Sicily.
4. Used a GPS for the first time, sometimes with illegal and humerous results, in Sicily.
5. Nine on a par three. No, I'm not proud of it. F'd up a perfectly good tournament.
6. Thinking politically, Zero, Congress, the Sup Ct and the American people also scored a nine on a par three. So there.
Trained with then ran with my daughter in her first marathon. Given where her life had been at one point, that was great joy.
Upgrading the (10 year old) laptop.
2012 Bucket list checkoff - I climbed the "M" in Missoula just like Althouse!
