Obama 48%, Romney 48% in the daily tracking poll, but Romney pulls ahead in the swing state poll.

The regular Rasmussen tracking poll is the same as yesterday's, but the report includes a teaser for new swing state poll with comes out in about half an hour:
Today’s results will show Romney slightly ahead in the 11 key swing states. This is a significant change.
Obama was 2 points ahead yesterday, so Romney has gained at least 3 points in one day.

UPDATE: Here's the new swing state poll. Romney is now up 2, after being down 2, so it's a 4 point gain in one day.
The states collectively hold 146 Electoral College votes and include Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The race seems to be distilled down to a simple paradox: the irresistible force of Obama's manifest failures v. the immovable object of profoundly stupid Obama voters.

The battleground poll gives some hope that voters can learn; but I'm not betting on that.

Obama voters are irrationally, emotionally invested in him, no matter his failures.

I have to admit that I envy the people who could wait this long to pay attention and still get it right. All they had to do is peak behind the media curtain and hear both men as they really are.

An amazing gift, that freedom of the press - when you can get free of it.

Give it another day.

As for the swing states, that's the one that's going to give the Lefties agita.

Well put, Tim. The immovable Obama voter is a very dissapointing sight. At least it looks like women are becoming a little conserned for their self-respect.

After the election they will stil be there demanding the same stupid recipe though, from whoever wins. It really is these people who are the problem in our country, and the world, and not the politicians who play them.

Yes, in the end, it's the voters' fault.

They have the final decision.

Let's hope they think, rather than feel, their way through this one.

"Schwing! Schwing! Tent poll!"

Interesting that MI is a swing state. Seems to be a perennial Dem voter. The last time it voted for a Republican was in '88. That's not a lot of "swinging."

Sweet.

Meh. If it's close enough for polls from individual states to matter, it's too close for polls four weeks ahead of the election to matter.

Don't get giddy.

Pendulums swing back and forth, not just one direction.

If Romney holds a similar margin after the next debate we have something.

Or maybe lots of people have been looking for a reason to vote against Obama and finally found one.

The funny thing is that when I saw the debate, I didn't see Obama as any different than he has been for the last six years I have known about him. I just figured it has been working up to now, why shouldn't it keep working?

Looks like his supporters were the ones who got a dose of reality from it, who knew? Who knew anything could wake them?
