"Corn stalks sticking out of truck lead to drunken driving arrest."

"The stalks were acquired when Elliott drove off a highway into a cornfield and then back onto the highway, seen by a driver who claimed Elliott almost hit his vehicle, police said."

In other Wisconsin farms-and-bad-driving news: "Police said texting while driving led to the death of a 2012 World Dairy Expo prize-winning Jersey cow on Saturday night."

I understand that MFD has been called to the Memorial Union for a structure fire.

Save the beer!

The cow was texting?

Shoulda traded the cow for those magic beans when they had the chance.

It's always fun to use indirect evidence to help establish probable cause, such as the corn stalks, etc.

Possession of a cup full of urine in a public place can do the same for an indecent exposure charge.

Well, no wonder. It is very difficult to text and drive when you have hooves.

I take it they looked at the cow's license to determine it was from Jersey.

Thank you, I'm here all week!

Obviously the cow shouldn't have been texting OR driving!

Does that show up on the cow's record as a Mooving violation?

Cattle shown at World Dairy Expo are there because they are type-elite. I realize non-farmers see the humor in a poorly-written headline, but I feel bad for the owner of the cattle. The eight cattle in the trailer were valued at half a million bucks, so obviously they were being flushed for embryos, and sons would be bought by bull studs.

World Dairy Expo is quite the event...see the latest in equipment, look at gorgeous, functional bovines, meet like-minded people from other states anc countries. Perhaps Meadhouse productions will attend one of the shows next year, and introduce readers to this wonderful event.

I read that the cow that was killed by the idiot human texter-while-driving was worth $500,000. Here's to a nice big spike in her insurance premiums!

People who text while driving are idiots. Did I mention that?

All these cash strapped states should levy a $1000 fine for texting or talking on a hand held cell phone while driving. No other punishment. I believe these yappers and texters
will easily refill the state coffer$.
