Will Althouse free the blind NFL official?
biggest crybabies in the NFL

Clay Matthews facebooked it last night.

The head of the Lingerie Football League has posted that some of the replacement refs were fired from that league for incompetence.
Hey everybody, it's time to play Guess The Party!!
This new rotating Two Minutes Hate idea seems to be working well. Emmanuel Goldstein stays at the top of the list, of course, but sometimes it's nice to have the government point us at someone else to hate for a while, just as a change of pace.
Wisconsin state senator Jon Erpenbach tweets the NFL commissioner's phone number...
Roger Goodell's secretary hardest hit.
Arent' Erpenbach's middle initials T.W.?
To hell with a call. Let's sue the league for fraud and breach of contract. This is not the "competition" Goodell so loudly trumpets when he touts the NFL. This is something quite different.
Also, did anyone note that the spread was GB by 4 and the touchdown erased it? Could it be? No. That sort of thing only happens in the NBA, right?
Clay Matthews is going to get suspended for a few games.
Even scab lovin Scott Walker has had it with the scabarees.
ProbAbly a tough call for the regulars too

The NFL is painting itself into a corner, which is their right to do.
Union lovers lose alot of potential support when they refer to people who fill in for union members as scabs. These are people just trying to do a job. Blame the NFL for creating the situation, not the people working.
Uh, was there a bad call?
In Tate's defense, that was a pretty cool no-handed catch.
These are people just trying to do a job.
Callin' it your job don't make it right, Boss.
arrrggghhhh come on people let's harass Roger Goodell.
Grudin said it best: "Wilson is the first quarterback to throw a game winning interception."
As disappointing is the NFL this season, it would be far more satisfying to harass Jon Erpenbach who is a certified a-hole.
Erpenbach is a Democrat and was one of the fleebaggers. He's from Madison.
Jon Erpenbach. Isn't he one of the state Senators who fled Wisconsin to hang out in Illinois during a key time in Wisconsin political debate?
So he surfaces long enough to post someone's phone number on twitter?
What a putz. His constituents must be very proud. The NFL is completely blowing it. But that won't change the fact that this guy is a putz.
You don't have to like the replacement refs, but calling them scabs wins you no points.
The regular refs don't own those jobs. The NFL owns them. If the NFL wants to shoot themselves in both feet and alienate their fans, that is their call. However, the NFL recognizes that this won't hurt them financially.
The most effective way for fans to let the NFL know their feelings is to not buy tickets and not watch the games on TV. But the NFL knows that the fans won't do that. If anything, Packer fans will ramp up their team loyalty even more.
So he surfaces long enough to post someone's phone number on twitter?
Irony alert: Erpenbach sponsored legislation called "Do Not Call."

I thought of the same thing. Goodell should just flee his NYC office for Illinois until the heat blows over.
If Jennings had batted the ball beyond the end zone, as he easily could have done, the temporary refs would have had no chance to blow the call.
The NFL is screwing the pooch, but Erpenbach was already a son of a bitch. And an asshole.

They are scabs and should be treated accordingly. There are thousands of professional fields I'm not qualified for and I wouldn't think of one day walking in and trying to do them.
The league and owners rake in billions in revenue per year and they think the fans deserve referees that couldn't even make it in the lingerie football league? Idiots.
The Vikings scored a TD on a batted ball last game, or the one before. Batting the ball is no game winner unless you're sure you can hit it out of the park.
Anybody else starting to feel that these games are turning out like a Buffalo Wild Wings commercial?
GM calls them scabs. Tell me, oh enlightened one, what recourse does a company have when they have no workforce? Either by lockout or strike.
As I see it there are only two choices - find replacement employees or shutdown. There is as calculated risk associated with each. You have obviously never managed or owned a company with union workforce.
Your solution is always the same - cave. The path of least resistance. Which is why state governments across the country are broke.
How about each team fields it's own referees? Home refs and away refs? They could skirmish on the field along with the team. Ratings would soar! Win-Win!
Lucky for me I prefer college football.

Just the other day I was having pizza at a local place on Saturday and I noticed that the pros were on TV. On Saturday!
garage fapping to his Hochules poster.
The problem with a fan boycott of the games, ESPECIALLY the Packer games, is that the season ticket holders have already paid for their tickets. Since Lambeau is already sold out with season tickets, all a boycott would achieve is giving the NFL $$$ and getting absolutely nothing for those $$$.
Another option is to buy nothing at the stadium, and no official NFL merchandise, either at the stadium or elsewhere.
Batting the ball is no game winner unless you're sure you can hit it out of the park.
It was fourth down and time was expired. So why was he going for an interception? Padding his stats? He didn't even need to bat it. A clean whiff would have done the job. No point in blocking the shot or pulling down a rebound. All he needed was an incomplete pass. Tipping it into the stands was his best bet.
Even scab lovin Scott Walker has had it with the scabarees.
The NFL should take a cue from the way the Palace Media have been covering the election and have the home-team's cheerleaders referee the games.
Agreed it was a bad call. But this is completely overblown. The sun will rise again. We have been through this before....

If you need a union to threaten harming the customers in order to be paid what you think you are worth when others are willing to do it cheaper, then your pay is dependent on extortion, not your value. We should never be on that side.
If we could just get the union refs back, we could return to the days when there were no bad calls.
The refs were only a minor part of the Packers' loss. They played like crap. You don't win many games when you don't score until the 3rd quarter, or when you allow your QB to be sacked 8 times in the first half. They could have won easily had they managed a single first down -- 10 measly yards! -- on their last possession, but they couldn't even do that. The Packers lost that game for themselves, period.
Lynch mobs are so 19th century. Why not go back to the 1st century and crucify the Refs?
But this call will take some of the heat off Chief Justice John Roberts.
If you are going to win the game you win the game.
Don't put the refs in position to take it away from you.
