Goffman would definitely appreciate this visually discrepant presentation of self in everyday life. It's kind of a renegade performance art by obvious narcissists. Subversion on a tiny scale when contrasted with the establishment-approved subversive art of Laurie Anderson.

Actually, reminds me of my RISD days.
But then, NYC, San Franscsico and the like are like that.
Clothes can be fun. But these days I am too busy to look in the mirror.
Well, NYC has only one boundary, that followed rigidly by all lefties, now second nature.

Okay, there are a shitload of boundaries and corrals.
But you can wear all sorts of fun clothes!!!

Great documentary about Bill Cunningham: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1621444/
Shucks. I was hoping it would be this Bill Cunningham. The one of "Barack Hussein Obama" fame.
People who make excessive style statements signal to me superficiality, an empty shell. I'm rarely wrong.
I thought I was going to see old 76's footage
Somehow appropriate that he used the word corrals. Freudian?
Clothes are a warning sign.
