The announcement came hours after the Council on American-Islamic Relations asked the Pentagon to remove the target. A picture of the cardboard target, which shows a woman in a headscarf holding a pistol, was published in The Virginian-Pilot on Tuesday. The image shows verses of the Quran hanging on the wall behind the woman, which also generated criticism from the group.

Because they'd never have to decide if a woman dressed in Muslim garb was a danger or not...

We are turning this country over to these fucking sand niggars. They are the enemy and we should not have to pretend otherwise.

Althouse, your visitor from CAIR is here.
With the Obama White house maybe they should be dressed as Jewish women.

Non-story. Particularly on a day when we have Pogo's epiphany.
Funny with you libs whenever it comes to your 'victim groups' it's hands-off. No criticism for CAIR is to be tolerated or allowed.
Or Sarah Palin
Why does CAIR assume that this woman wearing a rag on her head and carrying a gun is a Muslim?
Is it the gun?

It could be the Koran verses on the wall behind her. She's definitely not Amish.
Is it the gun?
Or maybe the verses from the Quran in the background, who knows.
I am so offended
at the quality of mobies anymore they don't even bother with spelling.
I just now noticed a dry patch on my elbow and now I'm wondering, how many people behind me noticed that and were too polite to quietly mention, "Hey dude you have a dry patch on your elbow LOL."
What's their problem? Cardboard doesn't have a clitoris, so it isn't like she's enjoying the pistol.
Crap, first a major typo, then I sent a profound insight on Pogo's epiphany into oblivion, forgetting to copy it.
Ernest Borgnine responds: "Oh, but it's OK to use me??"

Non-story.
Evidently not to CAIR.
This is pretty indicative of the ridiculous counter-productive nonsense that CAIR engages in.
Well come on, the pictures were billboards and the guns were 16 inch cannons mounted on battleships.
When I see the headscarf I think, "oh, convertible."
Oh, look! ... CLOACA!
They placed their women in service on the battlefield and have made it fair practice to defend against their offensive. Unfortunately, we have done the same, and should enjoy a similar outcome.
Oh, well. Women did want to be "equal" and should share equally in both its positive and negative consequences.
Goody, with Zero running things, we're taking orders from CAIR now.
Somebody refresh my memory, didn't they use a target of a VC woman with an AK during the Vietnam years?
IIRC, the Lefties screamed about that one.
Looks like they've finally gotten their way.
Well, I do remember a story from years and years ago about the Swiss army getting into trouble for using magazine centerfolds for target practice.
Gee, I can't imagine why anyone would get upset over that.
IN RE JIHADI CAEDITE EOS NEVIT ENIM DOMINUS QUI SUNT ELUS
I almost forgot: If the SEALs are not using those targets, can I have them to save myself the expense of buying targets?
Yeah, they better get the pictures of those blond haired, blue-eyed Swedish models up there for target practice instead. That'll show em.
Yeah - no point in trying to make the training realistic.
Well I guess the SEALS will have to kill everyone onsite who isn't part of the team since they can't tell who are the bad guys from the civilians. You get what you train for.
Szymanski said SEALs must differentiate in a split second between civilian bystanders and potential enemies, and noted other cardboard cut-outs on the range would show people holding animals, not weapons.
the SEAL approach is standard. I expect they have a mix of tgts
muslim female with and without gun
muslime man, same
friendly troops in various uniforms with and w/o gun
vivilians, hostages, etc
hell. I think one of those dirty Harry flixs had a tgt with a nun poimting a gun
the drill has a couple of lessions.
1. watch for guns
2. the rules very depending on the scenario about what to assume about each tgt type
it's good training. and trains for fast good decisions. more pc means more good guy loses
CAIR thinks all Muslims are our friends and their friends. Ha.
OK, let me get this straight.
The SEALS went to target practice.
And then CAIR went to target practice too!
Seems they both hit the bull's eye, so that's got to be good.
Right?
Well, it's good unless it's your job to clean up the bull's shit.
But hey, it's a job!
They need to just use those zombie ones!
The last movie that was honest about Islamic terrorism was "Rules of Engagement," which oddly enough was written by Democrat Senator Jim Webb, who lost his mind when Bush invaded Iraq and has never been the same.
The movie shows a little girl, who has lost a leg in an alleged unnecessary shooting by US Marines, firing a gun at the embassy. You have to watch the movie a few times (which I have) to realize the message.
The movie is great and I wonder if Webb is still proud of it.
the drill has a couple of lessions
See a corpseman about that.
This same politically correct nonsense has already cost us fourteen dead troopers at Ft. Hood, where None of Maj. Hassan's chain of command acted on his unstable behavior. Bad for careers/promotions, dontcha know...
I guess we can't do realistic training in the military anymore.
CAIR’s pusillanimity knows no bounds and so does Pentagon’s intellectual niggardliness.
The targets were back up the next day and the PR flak got a note saying, "no more tours of the firing range."
Everybody is missing the point.
Why the hell were reporters anywhere NEAR SEAL training facilities?
That's the problem. Not CAIR.
