"Will Judicial Commission remake give conservative justices a break?"

This is pretty intra-Wisconsin, but if you've been following the Wisconsin Supreme Court "chokehold" story, you might be interested in this.
Last week Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson released a letter to John Dawson telling him that the court, would not be not re-appointing him to the commission. The letter, signed by Abrahamson and the other two so-called “liberals” on the court, expressed regret at the decision by the conservative majority.

John Dawson, the chairman of the commission, has served on the panel since 2006. With his removal, the panel will be scrubbed of all commissioners who filed ethical complaints against Prosser and two other sitting conservative justices over the past four years.

The ideology of the Madison leftists is not going to be able to hide behind the impartial appearance of judicial robes much longer.

Exposure is going to ruin everything.

But the assumed "choking of Bradley" by Prosser is still thrown in by this writer as a known happening which panders to the liberal leftists.

Isn't that UNETHICAL writing?

How surprising (not) that the article in the Crap Times fails to mention that it's state law that members of the commission can only serve for two three-year terms, that terms normally start on August 1st, that Mr. Dawson was appointed in November of 2006, that the majority of justices felt that he was at the end of his eligibility and THAT is why he was not re-appointed, that he himself did not expect to be re-appointed for just a few additional months, and that he didn't seem that upset or surprised about it.

Nothing to see here but another example of how unprofessional the chief justice and her cronies are.

And another example of what a disgraceful rag the Crap Times is. A "progressive" newspaper that couldn't make it in the most "progressive" city in the country.

This is considered normal leftist thought.

Alex, windy33 is one of the reasons I don't go to that website much anymore. He's an incredibly angry, almost illiterate twit. Maybe he's calmed down a bit; he used to type in ALL CAPS and personally attack any commenter who disagreed with him.

Let's hound out every last conservative in Wisconsin, chase 'em out, smoke 'em out. :))))))

Then we can either show trial 'em, or you know...

Wasn't John "Jack" Dawson the guy on the Titanic who steamed up that car with Kate Winslet? Lucky dog. And he was from Wisconsin, too.

So with that background, who needs a stuffy Judicial Commission anyway.

Now he can go steam up a car with Shirley.

Would not be not? So they will?

Awww, another bad day for Garage.

Keep telling yourself its all going to be okay, and that Scott Walker isn't going to win the recall election handily.

It says so on Daily Kos, so it must be true!

Abrahamson's unprofessionalism, Walsh Bradley's lies, the fleebaggers, Kathleen Falk, the unethical Capitol Square doctors, and especially the tantrum-throwers have turned us into a national laughingstock. Lucky for Wisconsin their side is losing the battle.

How fast will Wisconsin look like Mississippi? Surprisingly fast. We're well on our way.

Why will we look like Mississippi?

Walker agreed with his billionaire donor that the goal was to make Wisconsin a red right to work state. That's what red states look like. Dumb and poor. Ruin public education, make higher education only affordable to the wealthy, cut access to mobility, and force people to work for nothing.

Why will we look like Mississippi?

Because you're both full of fat people.

"...force people to work for nothing."

I got a special kick out of that one. I thought we fought a war over that.

We fought wars so billionaires can buy elections and screw unions.

Check the driveway -- I think Garage's door has become unhinged.

un·hinged [uhn-hinjd]
adjective
1. having no hinge or hinges, or with the hinges removed: an unhinged gate.
2. unsettled, disordered, or distraught: He became unhinged when his friend died.

No. Despite all your efforts, it's still Illinois.

"Walker agreed with his billionaire donor that the goal was to make Wisconsin a red right to work state."

No, he didn't.

garage mahal said...

Yea he did. Walker was asked if making Wisconsin a red state, and a right to work state, was possible. Walker said "oh yeah", and dealing with public unions was "the first step". He admired Mitch Daniels for his ability to make Indiana a right to work state by executive order. "A beautiful thing", in Walker's words. Today we learned right to work legislation is already cued up in the legislature, just waiting for the right opportunity.

Ann Althouse said...

No, he did not. You need to get the full quote.

A questioner says something, and the first few words that come out of him are ambiguous at best, and then he goes on to talk about getting rid of the public employees collective bargaining agreements to put local govt into a position to balance their budgets. He doesn't go on to talk about right to work and he's clearly said he's not going in that direction.

You're being unfair and if you don't know it, you're... well, you know it. You're such a big old hack, it's stupid to talk about it.

garage mahal said...

It's abundantly clear to what Walker said and what he meant, and what governor he wants to emulate. You and Walker just don't want to talk about it before the recall.

Wisconsin can't look like Mississippi because you don't have enough blacks. But you do have enough unpaved roads and white-trash who are worse than Mississippi blacks, to make up the difference. I visited Volk Field several times as an Air Force inspector. I was shocked to see how local whites behaved in public.

Unknown said...

Garbage, put your money where you mouth is. If no right to work legislation is introduced within six months of Walker's recall victory, will you stop posting here?

Calypso Facto said...

White trash I'll gladly claim (my peeps!) but unpaved roads? No way. As a legacy of milk trucks getting out to small farms, Wisconsin one of the highest percentage of paved roads in the country.

Calypso Facto said...

s/b "Wisconsin has one of the highest percentages of paved roads in the country"

or better yet

"Wisconsin paves a higher percentage of its roads than almost any other state in the country."

Have I mentioned that I hate the new word verification that makes it such a pain to preview for syntax/grammar errors? Why yes, I think I have.

Dear garage:

"That's what red states look like. Dumb and poor." You mean like Texas, with a GDP 5-6 times that of Wisconsin?

"We fought wars so billionaires can buy elections and screw unions." Some of us actually HAVE fought wars, and it sure wasn't so that UNIONS could buy elections and screw TAXPAYERS.

"It's abundantly clear to what Walker said and what he meant" garage, the official interpreter of things Walker didn't actually say!

Wisconsin has become the biggest joke state in the country. Got to give you credit: You're certainly doing more than your share on that effort. :)
