I said it was "a terrible mistake, going huge as a way to bring back the hugeness of 4 years ago."

(I said it here.) And now we see that "the Ohio event fell short of expectations: ... Obama spoke to a crowd of about 14,000, well short of the arena’s 18,300-person capacity. Campaign officials said before the event that they had been expecting an 'overflow' crowd."

The timidity of hopelessness.

Falling short, huh?

Maybe all that stuff Uncle Saul had to say about ridicule was true, after all.

I mean, who wants to see a guy eat a dog?

edutcher asks, "Who wants to see a guy eat a dog?" Start with the viewers of the Kim Kardashian sex tape.

Who knew Obama was in Ohio?

It's spring and the spirit of rebirth of genetically modified corn and roundup ready soybeans is in the air.

Overheard from an attendee leaving the arena: "Yeah, but I just wanted to see him while he was still president and before I got drunk for Cinco de Mayo."

From the article: “I don’t care how many ways you try to explain it — corporations aren’t people. People are people,” Obama told the crowd about halfway through his 35-minute remarks.

But does he consider dogs people? And if so, does that make him a cannibal?

Celebrating Cinco De Cuatro?

Twitter was down for quite a while this afternoon. Now I see why. It was all the mad tweeting by OSU's The Lantern causing "overusage." Obama needed the crowd to move into the lower seats to create fullness for the TV cameras. And Twitter got the job done.

It's the Obama dog and pony show, minus a couple of dogs.

I wonder whether Romney will have the courage to tell the voters even one quarter of the truth about the One who came to destroy America? I rather doubt it. And therein lies the danger that the malevolent One will be reelected and America as we benighted bitter clingers have known her and loved her will be put to death.

And about half of that 14k crowd were bussed in Union members from other states and homeless that were paid to attend.

Yea, some crowd. Guess Obama's front men got to cheap this time, kind of like the USSS in Colombia with their call girls.

And Jason,

Sure Corporations are not people...

For Obama Soylent Green is people. All you have to do is just ask the ones who run the Obamacare death panels.

There were over a million watching the event online. It is over folks. The election is over. Go home. The re-election of the greatest POTUS ever.

No, I think this is the first time the Dems have had to face the people. And no one really wants to go to their events, to be there. It's like late Elvis or the Academy Awards. People are still Democrats but their standard bearer is sort of ridiculous. He says he's fixed jobs and the price of gas and they just get very busy on other things and never mention the spectacle any more.

It seems like even Axelrod's budget is shrinking; we're not seeing the usual influx of pro-Obama fluffers tonight. The bloom is definitely off.

Damn, it was nice and quiet on this board and then someone has to go and give America's Politico parole. That's what's wrong with this country.

Why should we believe Michelle here? Why does Barack know what it means when a family struggles any more than Romney does? Was it the struggle he experienced at Punahou?

Someone here pointed it out before, but it's as if he's running against his own daughters. At one point, he used future them as the reason he called Sandra Fluke to support her. Yet here he is, setting up the smear that will be made against Sasha and Malia if they ever run for office.

LOL, Barry is hilarious...telling the captive audience that we can't afford to take a chance on Romney!!!

Keep digging, Barry, keep digging. If this is the message you have for your droolers then you must be in rough shape.

This is classic Wizard of Oz stuff. 'Pay no attention to the unemployed, gas prices, home prices...all is well!!!'

BTW has anybody noticed the utter lack of unemployed sob stories???

Remember when Pelosi Galore laughed at the 99ers and their bennies running out? Or when she said that it is better to be unemployed than work in a non-union environment? Or when she said the Boeing plant in SC should not open unless it had a union?

This woman is certifiable and unfortunately very powerful.

And she exists and thrives because the modern press is guilty of malpractice and no longer serves the interests of the people. Quite the opposite.

Let's face it, 14,000 is a lot of people to show up and cheer for such a loser. Since 2008 there is a new set of youth that are just as dumb as the 2008 youths were. Not to mention the adults in the room who will find any reason to vote for this guy again.

This reminds me of the final tour in This is Spinal Tap, in which the band played to progressively dwindling crowds, and wound up in the free entertainment pavilion at an amusement park.

I'm looking forward to catching his act at Busch Gardens this Summer.

But I thought that "man bites dog," was always supposed to be a big story?

That is assuming that a lot of those showing up weren't union members being bussed in from other states.
