An email alert from CNN.
ADDED: "Newt Gingrich plans to formally leave the Republican presidential race next Tuesday, senior campaign aides told Fox News, after struggling for months to turn around his sagging bid for the White House."

not too soon. Thank God. Amen.
It must be hell to be somebody like Newt and not have one good friend to put his arm around your shoulder and say "Newt, I love ya like a brother but you aren't going to be President. You're short, you talk too much, and people just don't like you" I'm lucky enough to have a friend like that.
And then throw his full support behind Romney.
An email alert from CNN.
I'm not a journalism expert or industry insider by any means, but shouldn't that properly read, "An email duh from CNN" ?
Turn out the lights, the partys' over.
Newt may be going to CNN after all. Some of the CNN talkers have recently become fair and balanced like they want some respect back after Obama is thrown out. Newt could help them with that.
Not just stopping, but stopping with the campaign in debt.
And he wanted us to trust him on money and the economy.
What will he do to feed his vanity now?
Much like the marooned Japanese soldier on Gilligan’s Island, the battle was long over even if he didn’t realize it.
He'a apparently the last to know
It was always a vanity candidacy.
Money woes, however, must intrude even on vanity.
Fox News said Newt will announce his candidacy is over next Tuesday. Most likely he will endorse Mitt and Mitt will help him with his campaign debt.
Newt said:
"I do think it's pretty clear that Governor Romney is ultimately going to be the nominee and we're going to do everything we can to make sure that he is in fact effective and that we as a team are effective both in winning this fall and then frankly in governing,"
I would rather see Romney not use money donated to beat Obama to pay off debts from Newt's failed vanity and ego-driven candidacy.
I am not that sure if I was Romney I would WANT Newt or Santorum to endorse....then hit the campaign trail given the high dislikes both men get from women and independents.
Especially Santorum. I don't want the 2012 Republican "image" even partially based on that grinning self-righteous, intolerant theocrat.
Perhaps Republicn money going to Romney might be a good investment if it went to paying Gingrich and Santorum to shut up and hole up - in their Virginia mansions for the next 6 months.
Santorum could get a waiver to come out the front door once a month to tell the press how Jesus loves Bella and his family is so blessed.
But I do want better people than those two out working hard to defeat Obama(not political has-beens like Newt and Santorum). People like Chris Christie, Ayotte, Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Meg Whitman, Martinez, Bobby Jindal, even recycle "Mr. 9/11" and Darth Vader Dick a bit.
And yes, Ron Paul would be a positive - because unlike the social conservatives that have no where to go despite their whining that "Romney doesn't excite them" - Ron Paul and his camp can sway the libertarian and younger independent, but fiscally conservative if socially liberal vote away from Obama.
It is pragmatic for Mitt to include Newt and Santorum in his campaign (think big tent). Santorum can make a huge difference in turn out by the religious right winger voters. Newt is a brilliant guy who will be brutally effective attacking Obama and likely will improve the quality of the GOP campaign with his sharp, original thinking (as long as Mitt is good at filtering out the bad ideas).
He is still in?
Will anyone notice?
