This being a cafe post, I can post this freely I guess. He almost sounds like Chi Trib's John Kass.

Taranto, very funny an don point.

{Orange and pink are the colors in my 'fragrant' garden. Orange honeysuckle and roses are starting to bloom. I didn't know my crab apple blossoms to be so fragrant but they were, breathtaking in fact}

APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.

Winter kept us warm, covering
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers.
Summer surprised us, coming over the Starnbergersee
With a shower of rain; we stopped in the colonnade, And went on in sunlight, into the Hofgarten,
And drank coffee, and talked for an hour.
Bin gar keine Russin, stamm’ aus Litauen, echt deutsch.

And when we were children, staying at the archduke’s,
My cousin’s, he took me out on a sled,
And I was frightened. He said, Marie,
Marie, hold on tight.
And down we went.
In the mountains, there you feel free.
I read, much of the night, and go south in the winter.

Has anyone seen an explanation of how come that picture of Zimmerman's bloody head did not surface until now?

Not gloomy at all, but a small patch of welcome shade.

Trees do not have emotions, or do they?

There are weeping willows. I suspect that they may be depressed by their latin taxonomic genus names.

What we have here may be a taxonomy revolt started by a genus of GOP trees with woody personalities like Romney has.

OK, when the winds blow, trees clap their hands. They will all clap them next year when one of themselves is sworn in as President and honorary Oak.

Am heading to Far East in 10 days for an outsourcing opportunity on my vegan cup-cake business. Need to buy a few things ASAP from Amazon. Will appreciate tips.

- Which is better for overseas use: Kindle Touch wifi or Kindle 4 wifi. Any feedback from blog readers?

- What is the best carry-on luggage for international travel (examples: samsonite, briggs, victorinox)?

- What is lightest camera (forget the expense) that would allow easy way to upload to the web? I have an iPhone but am told it will not work overseas (on the AT&T plan and thus cannot use camera - is this right?)

- What is the best flashlight (lightweight) that one can have for emergency sake? I will be in rural part of the country (as my business partner is not in the capital city)

- Any other travel taking items? Suggestions appreciated, such as water purifier.

Thanks much in advance to everyone reading this.

NB: The benefit to the blog is that I will have less things to write about how GOP will lose for 2 weeks. So, give me input and then be happy for 14 days. What a deal!

Secret Service Agents Fired

What bullshit. As far as I can tell, the only agents who have left have "retired" or "resigned". There will be no firings, only early retirements, except for one poor to-be-determined schmo, designated to fall on the agency sword. Even then no one will lose his pension.

The US government, at least since Robert Hansen and probably long before, doesn't take security seriously.

We've always used Lands End and they always came through like a champ, but I wouldn't count on being able to do a lot of carry-on.

Last time we were airborne (2 years ago), the airline wanted just about everything checked (I know...). Doubt that's changed much.

Walker today is signing SB 428, a piece of legislation that his office promises will “streamline” the workings of the state Public Service Commission.

Bend over Wisconsin, here it comes again. The ensuing rate increases and degradation/privatization of services will again all be caused by those UNION BOSSES chasing the governor around!

Blogger Don Surber predicts a 40 state sweep for the Romster this Fall.

Before anybody scoffs, consider this piece about Dictator Zero (live on tape) booed at Fenway Paak.

YMMV, but it does give one pause.

Or, if you're eating with the Obamas, paws.

If it has wheels, it's not carry-on.

It was cold drizzle all day in Ohio.

One of my 8 active antennas, put in in 1997, shorted out and blew a fuse in its 12v control box.

I hope it blew the 1/4 amp fuse outside the device rather than the 1/3 amp fuse inside.

Sometime when I have lots of time I'll investigate.

The setup was for receiving Imus on AM at great distances, back before streaming, now unnecessary. Also today's show sucks, mostly, Imus having turned into a PC queen and lover of victims.

What I like about Althouse comments sections is that invariably I am reminded of something else.

Like now, for instance: I have been reminded that I need to recharge my Flipcam so that I can record the performances during a piano festival (a Ronald McDonald House fundraiser) at a local mall tomorrow and share the parts of the video featuring my son with his grandparents (and the rest with his piano teacher).

Bettering Mark Steyn, I'd suggest for the next Presidential visit they fly in hookers and leave the Secret Service at ahome.

My favorite parts of this picture are the streaming ribbons of sap that ended and the wind that lifted the leaves to dance upward in the light, with no mention of stopping so presumably still there dancing irrespective of the light.

Cool, chip.

Guess I just saw someone holding up some ass?

Which reminds me.

NOT REPUBLICAN, just don't count on me to bray.
