Look how much beer consumers have benefited from having more players and better beer. Granted, large producers of mediocre to crummy beer haven't had as much of a benefit, but they always have the option to make decent beer.
A friend of mine has home brewed for several years and is preparing to go commercial with a micro brewery at one bar only. I'm growing some hops for him in my backyard. (I have 2.1 acres.) If it goes well, I might become a big time hops farmer. :)

My vague recollection is that there has also been a relaxation of rules for small distilleries as well in Wisconsin.
