"I'm not concerned about the very poor."

Romney phrase sets off a lefty feeding frenzy.

Of course, this is completely silly. The full context is:
I'm not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs a repair, I'll fix it. I'm not concerned about the very rich.... I'm concerned about the very heart of America, the 90-95 percent of Americans who right now are struggling.
The ideologues are embarrassing themselves by trying to turn this into a statement that he doesn't care about or empathize with the very poor.

ADDED: Romney handles glitter-bombing with aplomb.
“This is an exciting time. I’m happy for a little celebration. This is confetti: We just won Florida.... We’re going to win the White House next. Let me tell you, President Obama is not going to be seeing a lot of confetti.”

Jay, suggest you reread this thread for any hint of conservative acuity.

Whereas conservative whining and mindless sarcasm is plentiful.

Again, Althouse must be soooo damn proud! of her flock!

take care

I appreciate that, Willard!

You too!

What is very clear is that MItt and the other one percent have done very well during the Obama years, thank you-- so the American economy works for some and of for others not so well as they have reduced wages, thanks to Right to Work laws, homes that are not worth the mortgages they owe, thanks to many factors, and jobs that may be outsourced at the drop of a Chinese yuan, thanks to corporations that no longer have a sense of social contracts, but we have safety nets like off shore accounts in theCayman Island, and food stamps-- so not to worry.

Willard has been running for President since 2007, but he did particularly well in the business world many years ago. However you are correct that his portfolio has done quite well during the Muslim presidency.

Getting to Know Willard
(Part 3 of a 538 part series)

Willard's mother, Lenore, was a US Senate candidate (Michigan) in 1970.

By 1970, President Nixon decided he wanted to rid his administration of Willard's father, George. But unlike Willard, Nixon did not like to fire people, so he devised a plan to encourage George Romney to run for a US Senate seat. Nixon's plan was foiled when Lenore Romney ran instead. George Romney remained at HUD until the end of Nixon's first term.

edutcher are you totally frickin' delusional as I've never had my clock cleaned at this low brow blog. Not even close little buddy.

You get your ass reamed on every one of your vapid KosKid talking points daily, sweetheart.

The sad part is all you can do when it happens is sing, "Tra, la, la, I can't hear you".

@edutcher: Don't take it personally. I'm usually on your side. I am amused at how some of them try so hard for different "incarnations" (insilications I argued on etymological grounds elsewhere). That does require a talent--one which I lack at least.

As for Althouse, she has stated that she won't let this blog become "right-wing" and I suspect that that goes so far as to encourage the artifical semination with left wing ideas. :)

Roll with it and don't let it get to you.

Oh, Hell, these two aren't any mind. As I say, we ream them every crack out of box with the facts and they call it whining when they know they've lost.

It's just the sort of non-stop drivel from these two is what moved Ann to lay down the law before.

I'm just surprised she has let it go as long as this.

So, he's not concerned about the very poor because the safety net is catching them. But, on second thought, he's not sure if the safety net is catching these folks. So, if the safety net is broken he'll fix it .

While he's not sure if the safety net is working for the bottom four percent, he is certain that the middle 90 to 95 percent of Americans are suffering.

He is also certain that the top one percent are of no concern. This is why his plans concern the rich .

Mitt to America:
--Bottom 4 percent may be okay, or may not, not a tricky problem to fix either way, if Mitt bothers to look into it.
--Middle 95 percent is a bunch of poor losers who are struggling w/ their lame lives. But, they vote...so it's important to let them know that Mitt feels the pain of their sucky lives.
--Top 1 percent needs to keep more of their income away from the entitlement spewing federal government because the envious tit suckers (the 4 + 95 percenters) are losers who need to sink, because they obviously can't swim on their own.

DUH!

edutcher fixated on ass reaming aside ...

Lawrence O'Donnell mentioned no one in presidential history has ever said, "I am not concerned about the very poor" in any context!

Congrats willard! :D

@shiloh,
You've lost every debate you've ever participated in on this blog.
You and your comrades are whistling past the graveyard, noting more.

edutcher said...

Yes, and how many people watch Larry O'Donnell?

And do they all fit in shiloh's closet?

shiloh said...

Nathan's nonsense aside, as long as my groupie, edutcher, continues to follow me around to every thread, as per usual. :)

Until I decide to leave the daily conservative whining and attempted sarcasm of Althouse's flock.

ie total boredom!

I just crushed Jay with facts in that thread by the way.

Moron. The only thing you crush is whatever misbegotten whore you pay to take a risk being underneath you. Andy R is next in line.

Hey Ann, can't see past post 200 or there is no link for it without posting a message to get to the end of it.

chicken fingers - "As for Althouse, she has stated that she won't let this blog become "right-wing"...

Oh, please. I'm afraid it's a tad late to be making such a ridiculous comment.

This is easily one of the most right wing blog sites on the internet. At least 90% of the comments that appear are far, far right of center.

I attribute most of it to the appearance of Meade, who is as far to the right as one can be and probably influenced Althouse.

It used to be a reasonably interesting site for discussion and debate.

Now it's just a tag team of the regulars attacking anybody with whom they disagree.

Don't believe me: just read through the comments on a daily basis.

Maybe, but Althouse was/is quite old to be influenced by her tagalong, so it's probably a genuine dislike of Obama now and of course, she's totally smitten w/mittens.

Can't recall one positive Obama thread since I arrived here late 2010 or one negative mittens thread. Or one positive liberal thread or one negative conservative thread as she is also smitten w/Walker.

Hey, she has to keep her conservative flock happy!

Hey, I think we've found someone more dislikable than Newt! Who'd have thought it possible?
