As you all know, I am a GOP who voted for Obama in 2008. I was wrong I believed. I want Romney to be the nominee. But, the GOP is fraud, they will nominate Newt. I cannot vote for Newt. I just cannot even think about it. I could vote for Paul, but not Newt.
So, in 2012, I will once again vote for Obama.
I cannot vote for any man who abuses women like Clinton, Newt, and others.
I still am loyal to GOP but I have my limits. I cannot support hypocrisy.
The only thing "despicable" is Newt treatment of wife #1 and wife #2.
Good. This is big, and with Wisconsin's recent history is should be watched and accountable. In the end, it will be a turn out race; Dane and Milwaukee Co.'s v Waukesha and Washington Co.'s. If it is honest, so be it, if not, expose it.
I am pro-Walker. But here is my bet and prediction: Walker is recalled for this reason: Many of his reforms will stick as the norm, even if he is removed. The financial concessions are now realized and local communities will be stubborn to give that up in the future. Firefighters and Police are still exempt. Knowing this, Wisconsin will pick the "peace" as they have done between other cultural division. My best example are Wis Synod Lutheran v. Catholic, which was not so long ago. German and Irish is mixed blood, at peace; inside families.
I experience the division within my own SE Wisconsin family. The Senate is vulnerable but the House will be hard to take back, and the court. Even that first Dane Co pro-union candidate 'what's her name', is already putting out soft language about restoration of the concessions and the bargaining "rights".
So Walker will be removed, but his legacy as one of Wisconsin's great reformers will live on. Maybe not in LaFollette statuary glory, but in the healthy financial legacy he will leave the people he was elected to lead.
Because of the family divisions; this topic can not be discussed at gatherings; it's now become religion. This swing voters that voted for Walker, will see certain things realized, they are not as entrenched or as ideologically committed to Conservationism.
Swing voters is Wisconsin will give the Union/Dem/Left wing members of their families a concession, after gaining so much. In most Wisconsin Families, this dynamic exists.
As the British expelled Churchill, a visionary, after the job was completed, so will Wisconsin do to Walker. Both accomplished their goals in an amazingly timely manner.
Wisconsin is unique financially is a few ways. Historically for one, even the Socialist Mayors of Milwaukee balanced budgets and made progress. During the Great Depression, Milwaukee was a rare American City the PAID ITS BILLS. Mayor Hoan as on the cover of Time for this accomplishment alone. But his kind of debt and deficit was not their vision of community health, so their Ideology is removed from their decedents.
All I'm saying is the cultural and family relationships, will matter. Wisconsin will sacrifice Walker, one man, for their love of the Packers, Beer, Raw Beef on Rye, Fishing, Deer Hunting, Venison Sausage, Bratwurst, Dart-Ball, the Dells, and...those things that bring the families peace. The swing voter will pick that. Not to Blame Walker; but the eternally unmovable side has been moved.
For months now he will be airing the ad that says -- say it with me now -- "I reduced the 3.6 billion dollar budget without raising taxes and without cutting services" (I like to say 'without laying off government employees or teachers' (like Doyle did).
The only problem is that so many people can't imagine being 3.6 billion in debt - until they look at Illinois.
Also, there will be wide spread horror when over 20 percent of the signatures turned in are challenged as fraudulent. The media will not cover this, but the blogospher - Thanks Ann -- will

If Kathleen Falk is the best the Dems can do, they stand no chance. None.
The Dems can only bitch about Walker for so long. In the end, they have to convince the non-union crowd that the candidate they put out is a better option. And with most everybody's property taxes staying the same or going down, with school districts now suddenly flush with cash, and municipalities now all of a sudden being able to balance their books without reductions in services, I fail to see what leg the Dems stand on. They cant attack Walker on any of those fronts.
I still laugh when I see the superintendent of Madison schools saying in a speech last February that he would have to lay off nearly 300 teachers if Walker's budget had passed. To this date, they havent laid off anyone. Hell, Tom Barrett used Walker's budget rules to cut Milwaukee's taxes considerably. The mileage Walker can get out of that alone is stunning...Walker's policies are a disaster, but the mayor of the biggest city in the state used them to save his city money and to balance his budget?
A few commercials about how bad the protests were, showing signs of Walker as Hitler or Walker in crosshairs, all of the "Shame" shit...in the end, its going to equal a victory for Walker as big or bigger than his 2010 spread.
Swing voters is Wisconsin will give the Union/Dem/Left wing members of their families a concession, after gaining so much. In most Wisconsin Families, this dynamic exists.

Watching Sconnies scan 2 million recall signatures is definitely hawt.

Isn't this whole stupid "recall" debacle a rerun of a legitimate election?
I hope not!
We are Wisconsin.
Palladian said..."Isn't this whole stupid "recall" debacle a rerun of a legitimate election? "
Yep. It's a 'do over'. When my kids were very young they used to ask for do overs now and again when they didn't like some outcome.
Then they grew up. Not everyone does.
Now it's 2 million?
Out of 4.5 million registered voters?
Statistically speaking..................comedy ensues.
After watching her announcement youtube, apparently Kathleen Falk thinks she is running for Governor of Madison.
By his comments garage does does too. Nobody tell him.
WASTECAM or how to p--- away $10million that we don't have cam

Not warm and not funny.

This is what bureaucracy looks like.

I'm all ears. I'm sure Krugman has a defense.
But no examples anywhere that it has worked.
This graph says it all Pogo.
BLS data
WI Total Nonfarm Employess

Nov 2008.....2861.5
Nov 2009.....2725.1
Nov 2010.....2735.7
Nov 2011.....2740.2
Seriously , Garage, do you beleive the stuff you post?
It's like you think no one has ever figured out that people make bullshit graphs out of cherry-picked data before.
"Let's pick a one year window and ignore the past 10 years, and cut out seasonal variation, and the general economy and all that."
I mean, who's gonna notice?
Anyway, name me the blue state that's done it right. Just one.
