"I'm... so in love with you..."

Lucky BHO.

If Tyler hadn't failed today, this never would have been bloggable. But, now it fits a theme!

What left a better impression, watching this, or twice watching Romney's "gracious" speech from SC?

Michael said...

He should do more of this. It was very good.

lol I just can't hate the guy.

Next stop for Barry: singing Okie From Muskogee at a NASCAR rally.

That's right. Ain't NEVER gonna happen.

We understand: there's the people and there's MY PEOPLE.

Does he have the right to do it? No question. But what a tidal wave's coming to sweep the slick turd away.

Well, the man does practice this snippet every morning just before he shaves, so he oughta be decent at it.

This country could use a good laugh.

Freeman Hunt said...

Heh. That was good.

Can Romney sing? How about dance? Hmmm.

Freeman Hunt said...

And now I'm going around the house singing that song. Though not as well as Obama.

Let it never be said that he's given us nothing. For there was a day when he reminded us of Al Green and did it well.

I thought everyone knew - after he lost to Teddy Kennedy, he spent some time as Michael Flatley's understudy in Riverdance.

this is the only thing makes me like him..now I'm going to look up his singing vids on youtube.

Yeah, there's that.

I'm down with humor as a tonic. But the divider-in-chief is tragically unserious.

Peter, meet principle.

How embarrassing. Hip hop soul brother in chief. When do the majority of Americans get a president we can be proud of? Instead we have this shuck and jiver in chief.

"Beautiful!"?

You can't possibly mean that!

It's nowhere near as enchanting as Newt's rhetorical pyromania.

"Let's stay together." A poke at Newt?

But someone should remind both Newt and Obama of Proverb 16:18, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall".

The night of the fight, you may feel a slight sting. That's pride fucking with you.

Fuck pride.

Pride only hurts, it never helps. You fight through that shit.

Looks like you're falling for him....again.

Now, I thought this was fine. Show some looseness that we used to allow out Presidents when they make non-political appearences. Not everything has to be a big important speach.

But I do wonder where he picked up that African-American dialect and accent.

I'm trying to picture Newt singing.

I'm failing. Dare I youtube search for such a thing?

Ann Althouse said...

Here's a YouTube video putting the Obama clip next to a clip of Herman Cain singing "Imagine."

So... the GOP had a singing candidate, but he got drummed out with sex stuff... which brings us back to Newt. No, he doesn't sing and we don't want him to sing, but he conquered the sex takedown, and that did us a great service. Too late to help Cain.

Ann Althouse said...

"Nixon played the piano."

And Clinton played the saxophone... on Arsenio.

Assuming they have souls. :-P

Your eyes are full of hate, forty-one. That's good. Hate keeps a man alive. It gives him strength.

We keep you alive to serve this ship. So row well, and live.

Indeed, as Obama is comfortable in his own skin ie the antithesis of mittens.

Obama does all sorts of voices and accents in the audiobook of "Dreams From My Father." You could say he's a talented impersonator.

The left hated Reagan when he was in office and celebrated his death.

Those are facts.

He's not very good at playing President.

I downloaded a corny old song yesterday. Born Free. It was a hard choice to pick a cover. Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Andy Williams, Kate Smith, Jim Neighbors, James Darren, Frank Sinatra, Matt Monroe, John Barry, Prague Orch., but no Barry Obama. I opted for Connie Francis cover.

Then I went through the same thing with another old song. I heard a little kid, Ronan Parke, bring down the house with Feeling Good on BGT, that forced me to see what covers are available. Tons of people covered it so now I have two completely different versions that I am please to put on my playlists.

And Rep debate audiences cheer record-setting 234 executions by Perry ~ cheer when Blitzer asks Paul if "we" should just let a sick patient die ~ Gingrich sayin' “Andrew Jackson had a pretty clear-cut idea about America’s enemies: kill them” received a standing 'O' ~ booed a gay soldier in Iraq ~ jeered Ron Paul proposing the Golden Rule for American policy: “Don’t do to other nations what we don’t want to have them do to us."

Indeed, America electing an African/American president has put conservatives in a foul mood ~ shocking! Or should I say Reps losing the presidency to Barack Hussein Obama ~ gasp!

take care

GodZero is getting snippy more often as his Administration is questioned. Add to that falling approval and, yeah, I'd say people are starting to dislike him.

OT: Chip, get the soundtrack from the movie.

Think Anita Kerr did it.

Not my dish of oolong, but they played it straight and it was a big hit in '66.

I was in Hudson Wisconsin when Reagan's death was announced. 45 minutes after the announcement, there was a guy on a busy street corner with a sign that said "burn in hell, Reagan".

I'll remind you of that when he usurps even more power for himself and his 'people'.

And that's what we judge presidents on now - how much 'likeability' they possess. Not if they're any good at anything, but how they would cut it on The Real world or a few episodes of Big Brother.

If you ask me, the problem is no longer the candidates but the voters:

We're a nation of retarded children.

And I thought, what's so bad about that?

A local radio station was playing Obama interspersed with Clinton groaning "Imagine" with a young female English singer.

Obama doesn't "do all kinds of impersonations and voices" those are all his chamelion like personality changes he uses to keep up that "likeability" rating.

A grizzled elderly prison guard veteran (and there aren't many of these guys that live long enough and stick it out), always warned me when I went in to see prisoners as physical therapy patients,

"Don't forget, this place is full of nice guys that will smile and pat you on the back...but, there aren't any good guys, as they'd cut your throat as soon as pat your back." I'm not much for the likeability rating.

So he can sing a line something like Al Green... that don't impress me much. Yeah, he's got the sound but he doesn't have the touch. Now, don't get me wrong, yeah, I think he's alright. But that won't fix the country, won't make things go right.

Your apparent comparison fails to address the gaping difference between a man in front of a fawning throng and a group of challengers locked in debate.

If you failed to correctly communicate what you REALLY meant I would submit a more direct method, next time.

vet66 said...

He can sing "Nearer My GOD To Thee" as his failed policies drive us deeper into debt. Not much difference between Obama and the orchestra on the Titanic as the iceberg, akin to Obamanamics, drove that great ship to the bottom.

We call it "whistling passed the graveyard."

Anyway, the celebrity president of the galactically stupid sings a few bars and the retard fan base can't stop cheering and swooning. Yay, cool celebrity singing president. You're so cool. Not like stupid arguing other guys. Who can't sing. And are not cool.

On a related note: Idiocracy. The movie. Rent it. Put it in the Netflix queue. Watch. Learn.
