"Ignore me. Go shopping."

A sign at yesterday's peace march.

On shopping...think of all of the funky stuff you could find at Madison yard sales -- the clothes, signs, flags, noisemakers, etc. of a lifetime of protesting whatever.

Why thank you. Just what we did.

Spent the night last night in a nice motel we like, drank scotch, used the hot tub, ate chinese in the room.

Today: Went to Wal Mart and bought some more jeans and tee shirts for working in the yard and around the house. They were ON SALE. White Stag tee shirts for $3.00!!! Good quality fabric and fit great. Also some groceries and household supplies at great prices....Wal Mart ROCKS.

Then to Lowes to buy some new motion lights for the driveway, shop building and back door. Looked at new dishwashers for next year.

Yarn at JoAnnes so I can make some more chemo hats for my friend. And then to Costco and Winco for more bulk groceries, meat and to stock up on liquor.

I LOVE corporate America!!! Thank you. Very much.

Saw a few occupy protesters lamely waving signs and stuff in front of a regional bank, on Sunday!! looking like 1969 hippie rejects. Flipped them off as we drove bye.....and I WILL continue to ignore you until you get in my way and then you are not going to like our attention. Believe me.

The point of the protesting is just to have some fun. The city of Madison should schedule spring and fall "protests" every year. Everyone can get a regularly scheduled exhibition fix, and the city and its inmates might be a lot mellower the rest of the year.

Yeah, go shopping, whatever, do what the Regime demands of you to further inflate the paper currency.

Do my fellow Americanos realize how well they have it?

Just now I was able to satisfy my desire for authentic Mexican enchiladas, having drunk too much Finlandia to fetch da real thang, by substituting these wonderful insta-bake Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls. You put them in the oven for a mere 13 minutes. Then you put the frosting on and... VoilĂ !-- fresh hot insta-baked cinnamon bunnies for your intoxicated enjoyment!

They don't have this stuff in other countries, you know.

God bless America. But still, you don't need to spend if you don't want to. Those telling you to are only soldiers of the Marxist Man...

Actually, corporate run prisons are a good idea. Glad you agree.

Eliminate the Prison Guard union and their obscene pension plans. Costs will come down and the prisons can be run in a much more effective manner and at less cost to the tax payer.

Good idea!

Next. Outsource the DMV offices. Janitorial services at all public buildings. More job positions available. More bang for the buck!

Yay. Maybe even some jobs for the "dirty hippies". They can clean up after themselves.

Lick it up, Dust Bunny. Lick. It. Up.

The commenters on this blog speak of "dirty smelly hippies" even as they openly roll around in the corporate droppings. Fetid souls flock to comment here and throughout the Right blogosphere.

But slowly, having gorged on faux Tea Party fare, the discourse absorbs and mainstreams the much needed dollops of anti-corporatocracy.

At this rate, it may not be long before individual names of the people who actually run this country are exposed and published far and wide. it starts with the general monikers like "banker" and "corporate master," because that is what they are, too.

But it is on the verge of these people coming to be seen in the public light for the vermin that they are. And that will be good for America.

But by all means, keep licking. it. up.

I was afraid my "National Review" ballcap would cause problems, but I don't think anyone there knew what "National Review" is.

Not a single hot babe, so I went to lunch uptown at Sfuzzi, with the capitalist slaves.

The wonderful photographs of protestors taken by Althouse and Meade over the past months have all left me with the same question: what do the protestors have in common that makes them all so angry and unattractive?

Today, while shopping at a co-op and casually looking at what other shoppers had in their baskets, I realized the answer. Tofu.

Indeed, how could it be otherwise? Can there be any reasonable doubt that every one of those angry, unattractive protestors has has eaten tofu, perhaps as recently as the meal before being photographed?

Tofu makes people crazy. It destroys notions of grooming and style and, amen, even the ability to hold reasonable discourse with non-eaters of tofu.

Tofu should be outlawed. It is Satan's pudding.

Goldman Sachs $1,013,091
Harvard University $878,164
Microsoft Corp $852,167
Google Inc $814,540
JPMorgan Chase & Co $808,799
Citigroup Inc $736,771
Time Warner $624,618
Sidley Austin LLP $600,298
Stanford University $595,716

Also, please recall that Obama rejected public financing for the campaign, choosing instead to whore himself out to the businesses listed above.

And all those demonstrators will be voting Obama in 2012, won't they?Of course they will. Idiots.

No matter how much such tools spout such drivel, it continues to be drivel, for multiple reasons. A primary reason being, no liberal or centrist in the United States is under any illusion as to the extent to whcih corporate power dominates the Democratic party.

But still, what are we supposed to do, exactly? You look and you see the rhetoric and policies of the Republican Party, and it is all about moving faster to create even *more* de-regulation of Wall Street, even *lower* corporate taxes, even *more* breaks for the people who already own damn near everything.

You do what you can with the choices put in front of you.

harrogate said...

Some on this board have suggested that because we use computers and shop, etc., we shouldn't be running down corporate power. That it makes us "hypocrites," etc.

But as usual you who say this miss the point. The point is that a single elite wealthy person (say, the CEO of Apple or Exxon or a Google shareholder) should not have a single iota more power over our public policy than any other registered voter. And yet it is the opposite. You bootlickers keep licking. it. up. though.

But simply revealing who is really running the country is valuable. Anyone who says it is not valuable to discover who runs the nation is a fool. Names. It ought to be known *who* is in charge here.

No, I "mean like" doing a better job than **any** politician in recent memory--or any media figure our outlet in recent memory--at amplifying and deepning a conversation about the power brokers who are running this country.

It is undeniable that stronger critiques of the individual CEOS, bankers, and hedge fund managers have become increasingly mainstreamed as a result of OWS. And they only just started a few weeks ago.

OWS v. the “Conservatives”

You guyz are talking about “raising awareness” and “deepening consciousness” and “what you gonna do?”. Well how about:
1)Voting out Rangel or any “Friends of Angelo” in your Party; and
2)How about proposing a “program” so far we've gotten a 13 point manifesto...that's it.
Conservatives/TEA Party have offered:
1)The Ryan Roadmap
2)Cut Cap and Balance
3)Rand Paul's Budget
4)Even Boehner has proposed reductions.
We have done more than “raise awareness”

I think someone took you people to task here last week about doing nothing....

What IS that “critique;” that they are “greed heads?” For smelly hippies, whose trust funds are managed by such greed heads this should prove interesting.

Palladian said...

"Palladian. I believe you are right, i believe he is raving about Jewish bankers."

Obviously I'm engaging in hyperbole, but I've seen enough from some of the OWS people (especially European ones) that seems uncomfortably close to how the Nazi movement gained momentum. It's an ancient tactic: exploit ill-educated people who feel "powerless" and who are of a relatively lower economic standing, then give them an enemy. In both the case of the Nazis and the OWS people, that enemy was and is bankers, capitalists and speculators. Envy is a very primal, powerful and poisonous force and it's the fuel (or the oxidizer) for the fire under many of the OWS people.

A reciprocal question to "who runs the country?" should arise in the superior critical minds of young Harrogate and other sympathizers of the OWS "movement": who is pushing YOUR buttons? Who is running the OWS show? What are their aims and goals? A critical thinker doesn't take sides without examining all possible circumstances. How do you know that your free-floating, class-based, envy-powered emotional response, embodied in the OWS movement, isn't being exploited and channeled by people for other, less savory reasons?

Hamas, the PLO and related entities successfully duped a lot of well-meaning leftists into becoming proxies in their religion and race-based war to eliminate the Jews. Various corrupt labor unions duped a lot of starry-eyed, earnest college students into spending months and months campaigning to keep their bloated paychecks safe from scrutiny. Medieval peasants were duped by corrupt clergy and power-clutching nobles and landowners into committing centuries of pogroms against the Jews of Europe.

If we're to examine "Wall Street" and everyone perceived as a class enemy by the left, why don't we also examine exactly who is behind OWS, and what their true motivations might be?

Call me a cynic, but I trust no one at their word. Your earnest, egalitarian rhetoric and your propensity to focus on nebulous enemies is a huge red flag that something sinister is probably going on behind the scenes.

poppa india said...

Harrogate, save some bile for those who accept funds from the vermin. According to Maguro's list, Obama seemed willing to take their money, thus giving them undue influence. Is he one of the names you want to be known as a banker and corporate master? When are you going to call him out?
