"Harry? Harry? Harry?"

"This is your wake-up call."

I love the way the newsfolk handle it.

I didn't know it was "elegant, dignified, and well respected" to say nasty racist things about Black Conservatives.

traditionalguy said...

Maybe they were ridiculing Belafonte by calling him, " hairy, hairy, hairy."

Bald geezers should be given more respect.

traditionalguy said...

But can Belafonte sing Imagine a World Without Pizza?

I heard he's not an authentic black man.

Maybe not even a man.

Anyone have any proof?

Mick?

I love when the anchor says ...

Deyo.

Maybe he tallied one too many bananas the day before.

Back when all the stars were bad-mouthing the last Administration - like Harry calling Condi Rice a house slave, there was a list out comparing education and accomplishments of various policy makers (Darth, Dubya, Rummy, Condi) and the usual suspects (Streisand, Penn, Sarandon (the only one with a degree), etc.).

I wonder where old Harry stands?

We know about Herman.

SO why didn't the cameraman say something?

One of the greatest voices I've ever heard. Funny how a man who got incredibly wealthy criticizes the country that enabled him to do so.

"There's an old saying," Belafonte said. "In the days of slavery, there were those slaves who lived on the plantation and [there] were those slaves that lived in the house. You got the privilege of living in the house if you served the master ... exactly the way the master intended to have you serve him.

"Colin Powell's committed to come into the house of the master. When Colin Powell dares to suggest something other than what the master wants to hear, he will be turned back out to pasture."

Oh give the poor old guy a break, but it was funny as hell. Sometimes I hate my iPad.

lol iPad. I've heard it's not the best for typing.

Oh give the poor old guy a break, but I was funny as hell.

I saw that and thought, "I'm a great American, and you can too."

Harry Belafonte called the Tea Party racist, and conservative blacks house n*ggers.

Behar: No, I don’t think he (Cain) has a prayer in the election, anyway.

Belafonte: I don’t think prayers were created for him.

So really, fuck Harry Belafonte.

I had to laugh the other day when Sleepy Harry was telling an interviewer how stupid and uneducated Herman Cain is.

The news lady was really cute and she made me laugh out loud. I gotta get one of those.

Scott actually I do love my iPad, I hate my fingers.

Several people, including Tony Kornheiser, have said Larry King would take naps during commercial breaks and the director would wake him up. Kornheiser said it was fascinating because he would be so sound asleep "you could go through his wallet w/o him knowing and then he'd wake up and just continue."

"SO why didn't the cameraman say something?"

He was napping too.

You don't seem to understand 21st century technology. There was no camera man, just a bridge crew. The director just said, "on screen" and there he was.

Really...you should read up on this stuff.

"This is your wake-up call."

A line that should be said only into a 1980s "brick phone" on a beach at dawn.

"I'm gonna make you rich. Go to work."

Has anyone been so famous for so long, for so little?

Harry is a washed up has been. He, like most celebrity political experts, can't say anything intelligent with out cue cards.

Daylight come and he wanna go home.

Because carrying and promoting the liberal mantra is exhausting.

loved his music; as a political pundit he is an idiot. Like most of the lefty "celebraties" Nothing about being a celebrity gives you any credence as someone who thinks

good riddance harry--when you wake up we will take you out with the trash

Another American hating commie sympathizer who got rich and famous in the system he despises. Jeez it's such a syndrome with these celebrity assholes. Gramsci was beyond a doubt a genius, albeit an evil one.

Last week Dennis Miller guessed, probably correctly that Harry is broke. I mean, wheat does he do for money. Being famous, even Harry Belafonte-famous, entails certain expenses.

And he's probably super bitter that Sydney Pointier stole his career.

I saw the HBO documentary on him.

It was interesting.

He was hot when he was young and still looks pretty good for his age.

Titus said...

I am looking forward to J Edgar-the movie.

Eastwood directing should be interesting.

I heard there is lots of gay sex.

Sal said...

I'm sure that's all interesting, but I really want to know what Tony Bennett thinks about stuff.

ndspinelli said...

Titus, You're heard wrong. Very little about Tolson and Hoover and their sexual relationship. Hoover is feared, even though dead for decades.

Deborah M. said...

Behar: No, I don’t think he (Cain) has a prayer in the election, anyway.

That pretty much seals the win for Herman.

wv: daphi. How appropriate.

Titus said...

I heard there is a scene in the movie where Hoover and Tolson clean the house while wearing a double headed size 16 inch black dildo.

One does the oven, while the other sweeps the kitchen all while wearing the dildo.

I hope that part stays in.

Sal said...

I'm just not seeing Titus as an Althouse sockpuppet.

At least it wasn't a Jerome Rodale sort of situation.

DAY-O

What a neat lady on TV!

So Harry slept. So what?

Isn't it great NOT to be overwhelmed by a camera?

Doesn't "DAY-O" also contain the words "And, I want to go home?"

Care to explain why gay men would bother with a dildo? Seems pointless to me. On second thought don't explain. I'm better off not knowing.

BTW, expert thread hijack job, Titus.

And Susan Sarandon called the Pope a Nazi several times last Saturday. Celebrity actors and singers get so used to having their every whim catered to that they finally start believing they truly are special people, that their intellects are highly developed, that their morality is of another order altogether. Anyone who disagrees with them is plain stupid, because they don't scintillate with stardom. They are good at recognizing problems in the world, and very good at screaming about them all the time, but they can't come up with workable solutions to save their lives. For that they put their faith in charismatic strongmen like Hugo Chavez. Personal freedom? You don't deserve it. Maybe if you were beautiful and intelligent like they are...

Could God conceive of a more defeatist American than Mark Steyn?

In any event I dislike those giving aid and comfort to my enemy.

So watch your ass you traitorous Steyn.

To be clear, hundreds of years ago Americans knew not to listen to British or Canadien (is that spelled wrong and if so who could care but a person wanting American titles) tyranny.

Steyn is not.

Fuck Steyn's "never never never" do anything other than sell books.... And those who disagree aren't me so fuck em'!!! ........

let's sell books and worry about the outcome after the greenday.

As long as it's evergreen.

Evergreen Steyn.

And Buckley was a bookwhore.

Ironically, that was the most intelligent, insightful (not inciteful!) political commentary I've ever heard from Mr. Belafonte. Who said that people can't improve themselves?

Bravo!
