That's how Maureen Dowd sums it up this week.
Lot of insults for Republicans too: "They’re revolutionary Bolsheviks who want to eat Obama alive" and "nihilist[s who] go unchallenged in their crazy claims to be saving the country they’re hurting."

Maureen Dowd has a split personality lately - her pieces start out about the glowing spectacular Obama and end up facing bitter reality - like she gets wound up as she goes.
She sees it. But she doesn't want to. She's being drug, kicking and screaming into the light, and the sunshine burns. Damn those Republicans. It would be so much nicer to be ignorant and stay in the shade.

I read that thing and was amazed that it was only about cheerleading. No substance, no analysis of the issues, no comparing of the two sides. It's just "Go team, go!"
I guess if statements of fact can be called "insults", then Dowd did have "plenty of insults for Republicans...."
U.S. Senator Borah, upon learning of Germany's 1939 invasion of Poland, exclaimed "Lord, if only I could have talked with Hitler, all this might have been avoided."
How many Democrat wise men and women have just as foolishly had the same thought about BHO at various points in the last 2 years?
The comment by Dowd about Republicans is rich, considering she spent nearly all 8 years of the Bush/Cheney administration ripping Bush and Cheney in nearly every column she wrote. She was probably the fiercest critic of Cheney of the major newspaper column writers, spewing more vitriol towards him than just about anyone.
Its Obama's own fault he isnt setting the agenda right now. He pissed away the first two years of his term - while his party held super-majorities in both houses of Congress - passing a POS health care law that a majority of the country doesnt want along with a $1 trillion "stimulus" plan that the country disagreed with. Now that both of those have proven to be utter failures, what does Dowd or any of the liberal elite expect?
The Republicans are Bolsheviks, the Jews are Nazis, the Libertarians are Communitarians, the Democrats are Monarchists.
The Dowd is sinking, and there's no one there to pick up the survivors. They bought the tickets, they knew the risks: I say, let them crash!
Really, Robert? When did Democrats decide that fiscal responsibility was a Republican thing? When did racing to bankrupt the nation become good and those who try to stop it become evil?
Obama's speech was not magnificent - it was a horrible mish mash of mercury laden angst and too-crowded skies, did he throw in the kitchen sink, too?
And schools. When did schools become the job of "our Federal Family"? I don't know about where you are, but here they have closed at least three school due to declining enrollment - as I drove by one of them today, I thought how hollow his ridiculous speech was. Surely, even the most partisan Democrat can see it.
Obama's vision of what a construction worker is is also highly flawed. He thinks they all build bridges or something. Around here, they're the electricians and plumbers and sheetrockers and carpenters who WERE building houses - and aren't. They aren't going to move to Ohio to line up for a few jobs building another bridge. He doesn't have a clue.
I must admit that I saw Mo Do's reference to "his magnificent brain" and thought WTF?
Mo Do must be having disturbing night dreams about her skinny jug eared Presidente with his "magnificent . . .whatever".
The lady truly lives in an alternate reality.
She is surprised that a man raised in a Lib/Prog cocoon, worked in a Lib/Prog cocoon and learned his tactics in a Lib/Prog cocoon with little to no experience of governing with people who are his equals and with almost no exposure to the stage of national or international politics has difficulty governing the United States of America. To use Bill Clinton's words, "It's a fairy tale," and they mostly don't come true in the real world.
When the Revolutionary Bolsheviks take power in 2012, can we put in a request to exile Dowd to Siberia, or failing that, maybe, Dothan, Alabama?
Republicans = Bolsheviks? More likely, NYT staffers = alternative universe.
The president is weak and House Republicans are obstructionist.
Yes to the former, but isn't that his own darned fault? (And, BTW, shouldn't "President" be capitalized according to the NYT style guide?)
As to the latter, what precisely are Republicans supposed to do when they examine the President's proposals and rightly conclude that they're a recipe for disaster?
What a foolish, bitter, old woman she is.
Barack Obama and Maureen Dowd are two people who never ran a business. Who never had to pay a payroll. Who never had to not take a paycheck so their employess can get paid or the taxes sent in to a rapacious government that can never get enough. Who never had to lay someone off because you can't aford to pay them and have to work 80 hours a week to make up for it and not get paid for it.
They have no idea about ordinary americans and the struggles they have to make in their everyday life.
They are both beneath contempt.
They are both the end result of the payoff for affirmative action, feminism and diversity values that trump merit.
You reap what you sow.
They are the bitter harvest of the liberal ideal.
Oh and Boston Sucks.
"It’s still impossible to sum up what Obama’s presidency is about right now, except saving his own job."
That's how Maureen Dowd sums it up this week.
Lot of insults for Republicans too: "They’re revolutionary Bolsheviks who want to eat Obama alive" and "nihilist[s who] go unchallenged in their crazy claims to be saving the country they’re hurting."
Maureen Dowd is an example of the maxim that reality can be deferred but ultimately cannot be denied.
Obama may yet wind up doing to the democrats what Hoover did to the republicans. Interesting thing thing is that both men were/are progressives. And that FDR ran in '32 on what was basically a republican platform of lower taxes and federal spending and borrowing.
Obama's trying to save his own job, and Dowd's trying to save hers.
So MoDo finally wakes up. Anybody who remembers him talking about Hillary in that faux Jack Benny pose with his middle finger raised against his cheek knew he was a coward and a punk right then.
"As always, the same questions persist in our long, fruitless effort to pierce the Obama opacity. How long can the president sustain the sizzle before the fizzle?"
She still wants the Lightworker, the sort of God from the Greek temple.
For God's sake, woman, grow up!
"Does he get it together when the country’s in trouble or when he’s in trouble?"
Does she get it this is the vainest man in the world and, like her other Demo wet dream, Willie Whitewater, it's all about him - and only him? In Zero's case, he'll never get it together. Willie was able to coast on the illusion of peace and prosperity - and Dick Morris telling him what to do. As tomorrow reminds us, we have neither today.

She was like this when the news came out about Willie and Monica. The woman is the last to know, you know.
It's hilarious how Republicans have become nihilists and Tea Partiers are a "a cult hellbent on taking a wrecking ball at government and all the norms and institutions in our society." (Thank you, garbage, for the magnificent phraseology.)
Obama and his supporters have become the New Age Richard Nixons. Their reactionary positions boggle the mind. Progressives that don't want to progress. Liberals that want to return us to feudal times.
Amazing.
A Republican nihilist is an amusing thought.
Assisting Obama in bankruptcy fraud by issuing insane levels of debt while insolvent is not the duty of the Republicans.
The Republicans only duty is to protect and defend the Constitution of the USA, and therefore defeat Obama The Destroyer of Worlds before he finishes us.
"The Republicans only duty is to protect and defend the Constitution of the USA, and therefore defeat Obama The Destroyer of Worlds before he finishes us."
HOLY DOCTOR DOOM BATMAN!
If Obama is Galactus does that make Joe Biden the Silver Surfer?
Ugh. Dowd.
My opinion: Maureen Dowd somehow (while in high school, it would seem) stumbled upon a writing formula that some people like, and has been cashing in on it for years.
Time after time, it's the same...like she's filled out a page from Mad-Libs (which is rather appropriate, come to think of it), turning it in as some unique creation and thinking herself brilliant.
I can almost hear her muttering to herself: "I don't think a football is a very good Christmas present."
I wonder if the President has ever hammered a nail nto a 2x4.
Or chopped cedar.
@Trooper,
"...does that make Joe Biden the Silver Surfer?"
No, because the Silver Surfer ultimately turned from the dark side and defied his master.
(No, not that Darkseid. That was another Kirby comic book.)
Maureen's way off base here.
I mean, let's our nihilism isn't about just one man.
We're plan to eat every fucking Democrat alive.
Not just Obama.
We want his fucking job, plus the Senate, and as many governorships and state legislatures as we can possibly take back from these fucking assholes.
Right down to the fucking dog catchers.
Interesting how republican voices are an "all-out assault on President Obama.. but democrats are "beseeching voices from his despairing base"
Given Maureen's summary, now I'm at a loss as to how to characterise Hoffa's
"take the sons of bitches out".. plea?
Maybe Hoffa is a closet republican who was 'assailing' the beleaguered President by trying to make him look bad.. yet again.
On Obama’s first trip to Louisiana after the disaster, the governor describes how the president took him aside on the tarmac after arriving to complain about a letter that Jindal had sent to the administration requesting authorization for food stamps for those who had lost their jobs because of the spill.
As Jindal describes it, the letter was entirely routine, yet Obama was angry and concerned about looking bad.
"Careful," he quotes the president as warning him, "this is going to get bad for everyone."
"Republicans are obstructionist" ....
Funny how being "bi-partisan" only goes one way for lefties like Dowd, isn't it?
Hey MoDo .... re 2010 election ... 'WE WON."
A Republican nihilist is an amusing thought
It's not amusing to the rest of us that don't enjoy living inside the wide open ass rank of the Tea Party.
Yeah I think Biden is a DC comics character. Maybe the Riddler or something like that.
Everybody knows that Hillary is really the Penguin.
I thought nevadabob had quit this bitch.
@Rose
...Around here, they're the electricians and plumbers and sheetrockers and carpenters who WERE building houses - and aren't. ...
Many of the same folks who file their business taxes under Sub-Chapter S, aka, the $250k+ rich...maybe we can call them "Thousandaires".
Just how out of touch is Obama? He starts talking about infrastructure construction in Sept as we head into the winter season when construction grinds to a halt over much of the country.
I had to laugh when he mentioned Ohio where the old saw is that they have four seasons: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter and Construction.
Fool us once, shame on us, fool us twice, shame on Obama.
But as before when Obama had tried to pivot to jobs, an emergency intervened: Democratic surrogates on TV had to talk about the 9/11 plot before being able to talk about the jobs plan.
Always Something There - Naked Eyes
The 9/11 anniversary conflated to try and foil Obamas plan.. the calendar planets are aligned against him.

Sad to say, she's starting to look like it.
Slightly off topic, because I can't bear to read Dowd, but re what O might be doing to "save his job."
So we now know the FBI is involved in a cover-up related to the Gunwalker scandal-- made a gun "disappear" at a murder scene.
Is it paranoid to be suspicious about the federal "raid" on Solyndra, made after the Congressional investigation was announced?
I really don't know anymore. It's so difficult to calibrate one's paranoia meter, given the kind of things this administration has done-- and given the negligence & dishonesty of the MSM covering it. (Though our fourth estate has been a little better of late, e.g. the AP actually fact-checked his speech and unmasked the BS of his plan being "paid for.")
Then there's stuff like this, from a few weeks ago.
The administration didn't just "cleanse" photo captions on its website (which referred to Jerusalem being in Israel), with the ostensible defense that they did this to be consistent with Bush administration policy. They weren't just wrong-- or lying through their teeth-- about this being Bush administration policy (thus concealing the real reason: "The Obama White House is gearing up for a Supreme Court case in which it will defend its refusal to list 'Jerusalem, Israel' on the passports of Americans born in the Israeli capital"). The State Department actually took the time to go back & rewrite history:
It gets worse for Obama’s defenders, though, than merely being demonstrably wrong. It turns out that while they were insisting that the Bush administration consistently refused to reference “Jerusalem, Israel,” the Obama State Department was busy scrubbing documents in which Bush administration referenced “Jerusalem, Israel.” Straight down the memory hole. That’s kind of amazing when you pause and think about it, no?
The “Jerusalem, Israel” captions and statements from the Bush-era White House are digitally archived and frozen, and so beyond the administration’s reach. But Bush-era State Department reports are stored on the Obama State Department’s servers. Two old documents in particular – the State Department’s FY 2002 and FY 2003 Performance and Accountability Reports – come up quickly in searches. When they were originally written they both had appendices identifying the location of the Jerusalem consulate as “Jerusalem, Israel.” Some time in the last two weeks that location was changed to “Jerusalem.” Whoever made the changes even went back and scrubbed the old “hard copy” PDFs. You can do the compare and contrast yourself. Click on these links for scrubbed versions of FY 2002 HTML, FY 2003 HTML, FY 2002 PDF, FY 2003 PDF, and on these links for cached original versions of FY 2002 HTML, FY 2003 HTML, FY 2002 PDF, FY 2003 PDF.
I mean, I know I've described this administration as "Orwellian" before… but are you kidding me with this? What's shocking here isn't even the content of the alterations, but the fact of them: actually doctoring a past administration's "hard copy" PDF documents, with the intent to deceive, support a false cover story. And if they routinely do things like this, what else have they done, are they doing, are they capable of doing?
The good thing is, O's doing so badly & lost so much credibility that it's unlikely even the most corrupt cynical Chicago strategery, abetted by the MSM's blind eye, will save him in 2012. But still, ugh. And then, to have to endure O & his MSM minions getting on their high horse to self-righteously lecture the GOP & the American people on morality & honest politics?
Vomit.
Yet he has been unable to move away from his academic disdain for hardball..
Really?.. You got to be kidding.
Here is more.
This BS is too easy to fisk.
Obama is for Obama and always was.
Come'on he is from Chicago. Never held a real job. Snorted coke. And I bet his grades were not all that shinie since he seems to, when not guided by a teleprompter, so uninformed.
He once said he would prefer being a good one-time president than a two time mediocre one. But he said that out of ignorance cause a mediocre president only gets one tern. Only good ones get two.
It's not amusing to the rest of us that don't enjoy living inside the wide open ass rank of the Tea Party.
WTF are you talking about? Are you homophobic and having homoerotic nightmares? Or, just afraid of losing your food stamps?
Maureen Dowd functions to catalyze the insightful early evening conversations held over a great glass of Pinot and a bit of gruyere.
cubanbob (cubanbuttbob) is a spineless coward who makes drive-by slanders and runs away -

TO ALL:
Attended a 9-course brunch with incredibly super K-street consultants, WH operatives, and at least 3 reporters.
These people are too excited now. The Jobs speech was such a grand slam that they are surprised. The GOP cannot do anything but do as the POTUS says.
I had told you all that the campaign for 2012 starts this week.
Now, you know that I know everything as I am the best politico in America.
I don't know why Dowd still has readers. There's no content in her writing- only spite. But, I guess she musta blown the right people, and still has a gig.
I don't even know any self-professed progressives who like to read Dowd.
The Obama presidency has always and only been about one thing: Barack Obama.
For the love of God, would somebody please get this woman laid.
The Bolsheviks were left-wing lunatics who deposed other left-wing lunatics.
They can all rot in hell or wherever their kind end their existence.
Oh, the nihilists, are followers of the secular cult and generational progressives (i.e., rebels with a cause and without a clue). The anarchist is the alter-ego of the generational progressive and not of a revolutionary.
Coming from an ideologue who favors substitution of totalitarian policies for moral knowledge, who denigrates individual dignity, and who devalues human life, I am not at all surprised that she would resort to semantic games in order to obfuscate her regressive nature.
She should seek forgiveness from her mortal god and sacrifice a virginal life in its den of iniquity, or Planned Parenthood. It's for the "children" or something.
One good thing about the Soviet morons is that they revealed their true nature shortly following their consolidation of capital and power. America's left continues to deny its true nature. It's really quite pathetic.
Unfortunately, it also creates obstacles for Americans to discuss and resolve issues of merit. It will be difficult to correct corruption in the exception, when fundamentally corrupt continues to take center stage.
Palin said it best again. Obama has commanded the House to issue him a half trillion dollar blank check.
They should send him and his gang of Unions and Con Men a bill for the misapplied funds starting with the Solandra payoff from his last personal slush fund.
I still think Obama has a very good shot at re-election, but this panic attack on the part of Democrats suggests otherwise.
Good.
The rhetoric is hilarious.
..given the fact that he [Obama] took two of the boldest risks in history — jumping into the presidential race in the first place and giving the kill order on Bin Laden on sketchy intelligence.
Maureen sounds like she has been watching too many sensational tag YouTube videos.
Maureen probably means to suggest that as recent as 2007, Obamas skin color was thought to be a liability.. (fair enough)
But if we are talking about a context of the boldest risks in history the risk was not so apparent to Obama himself who ultimately ran and won.
In Obamas own words, from the so called 'race speech' in PA.
This was one of the tasks we set forth at the beginning of this campaign - to continue the long march of those who came before us, a march for a more just, more equal, more free, more caring and more prosperous America.
I chose to run for the presidency at this moment in history because I believe deeply that we cannot solve the challenges of our time unless we solve them together - unless we perfect our union by understanding that we may have different stories, but we hold common hopes; that we may not look the same and we may not have come from the same place, but we all want to move in the same direction - towards a better future for of children and our grandchildren.
This belief comes from my unyielding faith in the decency and generosity of the American people.
Hardly the dangerous America envisioned by Maureen's "boldest risks in history".
The second Boldest risk.. the decision to go after Bin Laden was.. oops.. wait a minute..
Bush said to CNN in 2006 (while still president) that he would go into Pakistan to get Bin Laden if the intelligence was good.
So if Bush was prepared to take one of the boldest risk in history.. was it really that bold and risky?
Of course maybe prescient Bush said that just to make Obama look bad ;)
So, this is good news for the Republicans.
garbage has lost his mind. Dowdy is going nuts. The far left is threatening violence, and fantasizing that Republicans deserve it because they started it, somehow.
I didn't think Obama was in that much trouble. Evidently, he's about as deep in the shit as you can get.
@Trooper
Everybody knows that Hillary is really the Penguin.
I think tend to think of her more along the lines of "The Spoiler".
Just today, the spouse and I were talking about who the Dems could run after Captain Clueless hits the re-election iceberg that's looming ahead as he rearranges the deck chairs and Moochelle eats her weight in caviar. At some point the DNC will hit the lifeboats to save governorships and the Senate.
Hillary and who? I can't think of another experienced, vetted, high profile Dem that could step in and raise enough cash & support.
The Dem blue state governors are in deep doo-doo economic record-wise and their high profile Senate bench is pretty much comprised of hasbeens, green lobby shills, identity politics hacks and union tools.
Who the Dems gonna call at 3:00 AM?
Conservatives are the ones who have been giving Obama consistently good advice.
Obama has failed to test the Republicans to see if they will take at least half the heat for what needs to be done.
Obama seems determined not to let them save his presidency like Clinton did, and likewise Dowd seems invincibly blind to this dynamic and foregone opportunity.
I don't think the word "Bolshevik" means what Dowd thinks it means.
A lot of us are working to see that the Indies, TEA Party and the GOP are indeed bol'shinstvo in 2012.
It's not amusing to the rest of us that don't enjoy living inside the wide open ass rank of the Tea Party.
I'm curious. What lives in a "wide open ass" ?
You can just imagine what working in this office is like!
Does Maureen Dowd slam file cabinet doors shut?
Do people who subscribe to that newspaper, buy it because they look for her columns? REALLY?
Modo is so 1990s. She is a has been like that rag she writes for. A monumental cheer should go up when the NYT finally goes bankrupt.
Things would be so much better if the NYT editorial board ran the country, right?
Tell me a President in America who didn't get stabbed by journalists?
By the way, I think Obama has no competitor, yet, who can pull out a win. (It's not like you've got Reagan up there.)
But, ya know? I learned that Nixon won his re-election in a landslide. But he didn't win Congress! And, he ended up resigning after a year's worth of "trial on TV" ... Because Congress critters found an audience with their "John Dean Show."
Would this be the threat that could happen after a 2012 re-election victory? The House already belongs to the republicans. Would having 60 seats in the senate be the tipping point?
I don't see our economy getting better. But I've been waiting for the Europeans to deal with their mess, first.
You know, Margaret Thatcher's reputation has been growing! She hated the Idea of giving over British sovereignty to the EU.
What if what has collapsed is the global bullshit? What if, ahead, more things go downhill than up?
None of us can see into the future. I don't see Obama losing, so much as I see big European travails ... and a sense that America would like to withdraw from their consequences.
I don't see bounty. I see famine. Nor do I see the religious cult growing. Instead? What if the Federal Government is the stabilizer?
It's a bet. No guarantee which horse wins.
Today I took the time to read Obama's "jobs" speech.
What a mess. Total mess.
Fifty or a hundred years from now some historian is going to read this speech and say: "What a mess!"
Please, please let's not reelect this fool.
The America's Jobs Act was the BEST SPEECH by any President since Washington.
Obama will win 2012 easily, most easily.
GOP is screwed if they oppose the POTUS.
GOP is screwed if they pass the bill right away, right now.
GOP is finished. The POTUS Obama re-election team is the best campaign team in the history of politics.
Americas's Politico sounds like Titus.
To America's Politico: I am wondering does your cheerleading uniform show your abs or does it cover them? How about your skirt? Short enough to show off your cute little butt? Does it have a big "O" on it or do people mistake it for a "zero"? What color are your pom pons?
I wonder, have you had a session with your psychiatrist recently - sounds like you may need to get on the horn and set an appointment right quick!
I think I'd do modo.
Sure, she's a bit of a geezer.
It is also true that her column is not much more than a venue for fabricating pretentious literary, but meaningless, blather.
And, Trooper has (in the past) assured us that she sucks* in the sack.
Even so....

@ America's Politico
Really, your posts are quite embarrassing. But, they reflect a true representation of they kind of useful idiot produced by today's pathetic education 'system'.
Willful stupidity like you demonstrate is normally left to 14 year olds that have had their first bellies of beer.
Ms. Dowd is writing interesting stuff as she sours on President Obama.
Her conclusion is right on about him being almost entirely focused upon saving his own job at this point.
But she cannot shake at some level her adulation of Obama. Listen to what she says: "given the fact that he took two of the boldest risks in history — jumping into the presidential race in the first place and giving the kill order on Bin Laden on sketchy intelligence."
How can an intelligent person possibly reach that conclusion? His entry into the presidential race was virtually without risk. He was a two year senator, virtually guaranteed both 40% of the primary vote in many states on racial grounds and the VP slot if he did not win the nomination. And, even if he somehow got less, what was the risk?
And Bin Laden? He had been observed for about 6 months living in a house with no security protection. Obama sent a Seals unit, the fiercest and best fighters in the world, to take out a 60 year old weakling, two couriers and several wives. I suppose both helicopters could have crashed (instead of one), but the risk was minimal. He sends the Seals to kill an old man and that is supposed to be one of ht boldest risks in history.
And, she also credits him with a great speech when it was obviously a campaign event cooked up by his political advisors. Do you realize the said about 17 times "pass this bill" when there literally is no bill to consider? He has not even written it. And he insulted all of us by claiming the $500 billion plan was "paid for," when his idea of that is to ask the "super committee" to find $500 billion more in savings. Then, the next morning he heads out on a campaign appearance repeating the mantra of "pass the [non-existent] bill."
At one level, Ms. Down understands President Obama is a fraud. But she just can't quite stop expressing her adulation at the same time.
ps I is a minor deal, but the liberal press has started calling the great Barack "Barry." It shows the level of disillusionment.

====================
I think Obama is smarter than average, smart enough to be President...but I see no exceptional intelligence on display..just a lucky guy carried far on affirmative action. No Jefferson, Lincoln, Wilson, no Hoover, no Nixon or Clinton. Not even in the same IQ park as Hillary. Pat Buchanan, Bwanney Fwank, Schumer, or Mitt Romney.
For 70 or so years, the media has cultivated the image of their select Democrat heroes and pets like John McCain as junior Einsteins.
FDR was supposed to be a matchless genius guiding every affair in America. He was a genius at selecting people far smarter than him with the right character traits, to do a good job. And he only guided one affair - with Lucy.
Then came egghead Adlai. JFK as a brilliant author. Hubert Humphrey as "the smartest man in the Midwest since Adlai". The brilliant Mondale and the all-wise Michael Dukakis. Then the legitimately Nixon-level IQ Bill Clinton.
But we soon had people shilling his successor Algore, as the Ubermind that knew Everything!!. (Problem became Algore believing his press) Then Jean Claude Kerry, the LOVED! debating genius from Yale.
They did get Obama in, in part by showing how stupid their former pet, John McCain, actually was. But the Transcendental Mind of Black Messiah was a constant theme of liberals and progressive Jews writing most the media fodder feeding Obam's image. Despite no scholarly work, no tenure, no real court case history as a lawyer...why, he was as smart as two Genius Algores!!

Hold on there cowboy. Who said 'woo'?
My thinking was closer to a 'you're the last two people on the planet and humanity is depending on you' scenario, than I was thinking of a wining and dining (like that which America's Pimp has experienced) ordeal.
She also did refer to his "magnificent brain." He has never produced his test scores or grades. He benefited from affirmative action his entire life (without justification, his parents were a white girl from Kansas and a Kenyan - no African American heritage that would warrant affirmative action.) He is a smart guy, but far short of "magnificentt brain" or the other genius praise he receives.

"My thinking was closer to a 'you're the last two people on the planet and humanity is depending on you' scenario, than I was thinking of a wining and dining (like that which America's Pimp has experienced) ordeal."
I think if it were just myself and modo, well, OK maybe I'd have to take one for the team. I wasn't aware however that you implied such the dire scenario...when you said 'Id do modo'...want some boiled dead cat?
Jimmy Carter, batshit crazy:
I want an iPad 3 right now. Apple should give me the iPhone 5 right now. Why is there a wait? (I understand Apple is still designing/testing iPad 3 and iPhone 5.)
But, I want it now. If the GOP has to pass the bill that is not written yet, then why cannot Apple just give me the devices I need, right now.
I want it now. Do you remember Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory about the English young lady?
I want it right now.
America's Politico@ 8:35
I was reminded of the Deli Scene in When Harry Met Sally.
"I'll have what he's having"
Do you think that there could possibly exist any set of objective circumstances in which Dowd would admit that Obama is a failure? What are the objective parameters of a "magnificent brain"?
@ America's Politico,
You are either a Baghdad Bob or a Joseph Goebbels.
I don't know which but your predictions will end in the same sad result as those two characters predictions did.
"boldest risks in history ... and giving the kill order on Bin Laden on sketchy intelligence."
Sending in those Seals might have failed, and could even have embarrassed the president. And here I thought that things like D-Day were the boldest risks in history.
I love her. She's fab. Single, smart, bitchy, good looking.
A gay man's woman definitely.
And all you gizzards on here would fuck her in a heartbeat. Especially you single geezers who never ever get it.
Two of the boldest risks in history
1. Crossing the Rubicon isn't just a metaphor.
2. Columbus isn't just a day.
Additional entries accepted.
It's funny how much Modo get's right. But she just can't put it together:
Obama likes to come in late, after the other players have staked out positions. It’s a strangely risk-averse tact
the odd rhythms of his temperament are less interesting when so much is at stake
Disengaging when the United States and the world are going to hell is playing with fire.
In the capital of political tactics, it was just another fine day of faking it.
I put her real thesis last. There's no such thing as "Energizing Barry" or "electrifying" Barry or bold, risky Barry. There's not even "strangely" Barry or "odd" Barry. He is exactly what his opponents -- from Hillary in the primaries to the Tea Party in the summer of 2009 to the House Republicans -- told us he is. A man not ready, or inclined, for the executive.
For his proponents, he is strange, a kind of reverse-Zelig, a man whose accomplishments are thrust upon him (by academic panderers, by idealistic primary voters, by Nancy Pelosi, by the CIA) yet must be cast as the image of accomplishment.
@Henry
3. Gettysburg isn't just a speech.
4. Normandy isn't just a beach.
5. "The Eagle" isn't just a bird.
Two of the boldest risks in history..
Don't mind if I do.
The moon landings.. which (if recent events are any indication) had Obama followed JFK, instead of LBJ, those landings would have never happened.
Just saying..
Beat by BJM
@Yashu, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean everyone isn't out to get you.
Trust your guts...that voice that connects the dots is usually your best bet.
While we focus on the hysterical, I mean historical aspects of the adulation.. the boldest risks in history..
I was wondering what is a bold risk without the reward of success?
And then I remembered Obama's greatest accomplishment ;)
How could I have so ungracefully forgotten soo soon.
I meant to say ungratefully back there..
Obama is a prince of peace..
How dare Maureen talk about Obama like that?
the boldest risks in history
Not all of the boldest risks in history actually worked out.
The plot to assassinate Hitler.
Napoleon's attempt to return from Elba.
Japan's attempt to win simultaneous wars against China, the British Empire, and the United States.
Modo sounds like Hedley Lamarr - "Now you men will only be risking your lives, whilst I will be risking an almost certain Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor."
YoungHegelian,
"When the Revolutionary Bolsheviks take power in 2012, can we put in a request to exile Dowd to Siberia?"
Why? What have the Siberians ever done to us???
Obama's failure as president is so irrefutably complete, in order to praise Obama, MoDo has to suggest that she hardly sees any difference between the Civil Rights America of the last century and the current clueless America that elected his bold risky *ss.
Maybe shes right ;)
Dowd has soured on the Urkel penis. Or rather the Urkel penis has tasted sour for her. Now she is just anti-penis.
And all you gizzards on here would fuck her in a heartbeat. Especially you single geezers who never ever get it.
You gotta be kidding, Titus. That withered clam would be like coarse-grit sandpaper.
I think even "J" would balk at the prospect.
wv: procu -- Any procurer who tried to peddle MoDo would be sliced in half.
"Bolsheviks"?! Bwahahahahahahaha!
She's losing it, big time.
And it certainly is possible to sum up Obama's presidency, in two words: EPIC FAIL.
And reading Dowd's article, it's hard to believe she's living in the same country as the rest of us. Same with the other Democrats who are worried about Obama getting re-elected because "he's not been getting his message out." The problem is not Obama getting the message out, it's the subject of the message itself, both words and actions, which have resulted in a downward economic spiral and the lowest percentage of the population employed in decades. And yet, Obama's plan is to double down on what he has been doing and yell louder about doing it. And he expects a different result this time!
Some of us know the definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting to get a different result.
Loyal opposition =
"This war is lost" - Harry Reid
"This is a dumb war" - Barak Obama
What we really need is more "stimulus" for GE and Solyndra and those damned Repubs can't see the brilliance of Obama.
@Yashu -
Some time in the last two weeks that location was changed to “Jerusalem.” Whoever made the changes even went back and scrubbed the old “hard copy” PDFs. You can do the compare and contrast yourself. Click on these links for scrubbed versions […] and on these links for cached original versions […].
I wonder if they thought to go back and use the 2003 version of Adobe Acrobat . . . or whatever version was in use at the time the pages were scanned . . .
"It’s a strangely risk-averse tact, given the fact that he took two of the boldest risks in history — jumping into the presidential race in the first place and giving the kill order on Bin Laden on sketchy intelligence. "
This is why I can't stomach Dowd. Killing Bin Laden was one of the boldest risks taken in history??? Yeesh
