Rick Perry says, "Adios, Mofo," after he probably assumes the interview is over with an obnoxious reporter and it is the end of civilization as we know it.
Incidentally, on the subject of Karl Rove and before him Lee Atwater, why don't we hear about Democratic campaign managers like David Axelrod?
Isn't Axelrod clearly an evil svengali who is the real power behind the curtain of our woefully inexperienced president? Why don't we hear about Axelrod and his evil doings?

Motherfucker is angry. If Perry is cursing out journalists in private, that would be worrisome. It would indicate that he's a hothead and he has anger issues, and self-control issues.
But "Adios, mofo" is funny, particularly with his accent. It's a mock insult. And he's grinning.
Democrats simply cannot accept that people often elect Republicans to powerful positions. It's particularly galling when the Republicans seem, to the Democrats, to be stupid.
To counteract this thing that they simply cannot accept, Democrats create a trickster who is really responsible for this reprehensible reality. Rove is such a trickster.
The trickster is an old psychological and literary trope. Primordial, really. Amazing that the super-smart Democrats can't see how primitive they are being.
I add that, of course, Republicans create tricksters. But Republicans are simple and stupid, so this is to expected of them. Right?
Uh Seven-Obama bets Perry even here in Tejas. The clown car can hold lots more though-dont worry your pretty little head. Ya see, we dont like him all that much. He won in a weird 4 way election with not even 40%. Adios mofo indeed.
Master Cylinder -- I won't worry my gorgeous head. In the mean time, gambling is illegal at Bushwood, sir, and I advise you work on your formatting skills.
So far, Obama has managed to bring his own patriotism, his own handling of the economy, and his own manhood into question, all while tilting at someone who got in the Republican race a couple days ago. Hilarious.
Also, why is it that you leftists here are so confident that only Romney can beat Obama -- yet you never have a bad word to say about Romney? Why is that? You'd think that the candidate most likely to beat Obama would generate spasms of criticism.
BTW, my ex Governator is available now. I know you want him for Pres. He's big, but a big pussy, and a known fornicator and adulterer, and he likes cigars. So, bring back the 90's, and draft the Presinator. He's neither Republican nor Democrat and would show the U.S is a tolerant nation by continuing our choosing of the mixed race - he's only half human.
If Obama's Black support is at 80%, does that mean that his white half is only getting 30%?
Is there anything Obama could do to get Black approval below 70%? If not, isn't that clear proof of racism on the part of millions of Blacks? OK, I imagine if he cheated on Michelle by doing Rosie O'Donnell, but that would be taking bad judgement to a new level, but otherwise?
I can't imagine supporting a guy just because of his race or ethnicity, and you know that's what a big part of this is.
I would vote against my own mother if she was this bad, but only because it's a secret ballot. I'm not crazy.
"There are desperately seeking a George Allen "Maccaca" moment."
Then they can just make one up like that was. I don't think it will fly now. This gotcha on any mention of the PC taboo list has just run it's course.
Rough language is a plus in both camps among the base, who then attack the opposite candidate for doing it. It's a hypocrisy game without shame, and I think we're tired of it. The outrage plays as lame, and shows that your not serious about the serious shape we're in.
Assuming Christie and Ryan do not enter the race, the Romney v. Perry showdown for the nomination should prove beneficial to both; Perry forces Romney to firm up his so far to date wholly inadequate response on Massachusetts' health care reform law and to demonstrate the fire to take on Obama; Romney forces Perry to demonstrate he can be presidential and appeal to swing voters.
Ryan, Christie, Perry, Romney - all far superior to any imagined generic Republican. It's a strong field. I wish they were all running. Any two would be a winning ticket. Hell, let's elect them all.
My allegiance goes only to the Clintons (borne out of watching their intellect and what he made of himself coming from where he did -- don't care about all that sex stuff, it happens, I am kind of French that way). After what Obama and his Svengali evil Axelrod did to Hillary I returned my Dem registration (and even voted for McCain). I am firmly independent and in a mood to punish the Dems and I won't vote for Obama. I would love to see a debate between Newt and Hillary, but would never vote for Newt.
Seven, I understand the Black identity angle, which is why I brought in my Mom. Who can you identify with more than your mother, yet I can love my mother and still not hire her to rebuild my Dodge, or my country.
We should not be electing people on identity. It's a job, not a ceremonial position, a crucially important job with many lives in the balance. My Dodge is even too important to put in the hands of someone just because I identify with them. I hope that Blacks and everyone else could grow up about that.
pm -- I grouped you with Garage because, like Garage, you apparently believe that a campaign manager has svengali-like powers. I base this on your comments in this thread.
I like Garage. Stand-up guy. Just woefully wrong about everything.
you apparently believe that a campaign manager has svengali-like powers
Well, Bush needed a Rove and Obama certainly needed an Axelrod and a teleprompter and a speechwriter..But my comment about Rove was a sincere question because he seemed so against Perry.
I said Rove was wigging on Perry entering the race, not that he had any svengali-like powers.
Wiggling? What does that even mean? Like dancing?
Anyway, you are missing the obvious, broader point that Rove has no power whatsoever. He's a dude that managed W.'s presidential campaigns. That's it. So his wiggling, whatever that means, doesn't matter. You think it does. This is because you have assigned to Rove power that he does not have and never had.
Well my question with the Perry show so far, is the Texas strut and bravado: 1) A smart strategy to nail the base thus pushing out Bachman and leaving it just a two man race 2) Determined opponent research by the Dems to damage a new candidate with a lot of buzz. 3) Just who Perry is; deal with it!
Once in High School the football coach told us that we had to quit cursing during afternoon practice because the English Teachers could hear us up in the School builing.
So we just made up similar sounding words to scream out in pain such as sounby in place of son of a bitch .
Perry is equally creative.
Maybe you have to be from the south to understand that forbidden words rules from the Church Ladies are not that big a deal. We show submission to them sort of, but we still express ourselves in fighting language (also see, George S, Patton uncensored.)
We can only wish Rove was a genius. The guy is a campaign manager. Once, 12 years ago, he didn't screw up. Sure, he's a smart guy, and so is Buck Showalter.
Oh, my bad. So it is your belief that Rove has been freakin' out, being creeped out or freaked out by something or someone. That's how your describe Rove's behavior?
Lee Atwater. I mentioned him upthread. Further, the point of the trickster explanation is that it's Democrats using it to explain the rise of Republicans. Therefore, Clinton's campaign manager (Carville) doesn't matter.
Seven Machos, I don't think you're reading and commenting enough.
Seriously, though, I like your analysis about the "trickster". It's a helpful way of describing leftist views of the mysterious conservatives.
People tend to overestimate their ability to understand the motivations and thought processes of politicians on the other side, so even with your analysis, I'm cautious. But it has predictive power.
Can that campaign manager make your friend the President of the USA?
So you admit ascribing to the trickster theory -- that the candidate is not who the people are voting for, but there is a trickster behind the candidate compelling people to vote for the candidate.
Fascinating. Most people deny it when I point it out to them. Not you.
"So you admit ascribing to the trickster theory -- that the candidate is not who the people are voting for, but there is a trickster behind the candidate compelling people to vote for the candidate."
Proves that the candidate can make effective hiring decisions, don't it.
If Obama's Black support is at 80%, does that mean that his white half is only getting 30%?
Is there anything Obama could do to get Black approval below 70%?
Exactly what he's doing now. That's why Kerosene Maxine was basically telling him today, "Get your scrawny ass in gear, mofo".
Black unemployment is double that of whites, so approval below 70 is hardly unthinkable at this point.
They're also mad because Herbert Obama's Magical Misery Tour isn't going to any black areas. He's taking them totally for granted, which is making the Party very nervous.
I can't imagine supporting a guy just because of his race or ethnicity, and you know that's what a big part of this is.
This is like Catholics keeping pictures of Jack Kennedy in their homes after he was elected. It's a "we've finally arrived" thing.
You have to be there.
PS The whole "I have a great plan to save the country, fix the economy, and balance the budget and I'll tell you all about it...
As soon as I get back from vaca" is starting to smell like his Katrina.
oh, yes. the 'trickster/s' create the narrative, the branding. It is all about branding..especially with what happened with Obama (and I think he is incapable coming up with all that himself.)
"Black unemployment is double that of whites, so approval below 70 is hardly unthinkable at this point.". "
BTW, Maxine ("no justice - no peace") Waters is my representative. I'll trade ya.
I think most of the recent dissatisfaction with Obama is because they are starting to see that he may lose reelection. That's the thing they fear. Nobody with half a brain expects the President to fix the economy, and he's already tried all his ideas with billions of dollars. They don't really blame him, they just don't like losers, and he's looking like one lately. This recent criticism is an emotional reaction to fear. Fear that the arguments available to defend Obama, just aren't flying with anyone, and an evil Republican is gonna make him a one termer. That's embarrassing if you are an identity voter.
Obama will be just like Buster Keaton! You'll see him misstepping so much ... that he falls off a building. And, catches himself mid-flight by grabbing onto a clock's handle.
People laughed!
Buster Keaton could make all the mistakes in the world. And, it only registered as comedy.
I think that's obama's ass.
And, I don't think Perry touches him!
Trump on the other hand can knock him out. But how many politicians want to call out the saud's (OPEC). Or China.
Seems to me that he was just giving a friendly goodbye to a member of the liberal media. If he'd said what he really thought, well "we treat people like that pretty ugly down here" would apply to his true sentiments towards this journalistic jackanapes.
Sorry, I should pay more attention. I think I expanded your 'trickster' theory and showed that it worked for both parties.. Democrats may jump and down saying their candidate is smart but there is a 'trickster' behind their inept candidates too.
Blacks are entitled to get angry at Obama. Doesn't mean they'll run to vote for Perry. Or Romney. Or Bachmann.
But ya know what? Trump would get votes! He's not afraid to talk "jobs." Plus, he knows how to make them.
He's also accused OPEC of raising oil to $80 a barrel. When Trump says it's worth only $30.
He also said he'd tax the Chinese (21%) ... o all imports. Because they manipulate their money to take advantage of us. If they don't like it, he said he'd go to 40%.
Maybe, Trump's not running? Maybe, Sarah Palin's not running? (Trump said, to Greta's question about that ... that he didn't think she was gonna run.)
Don't think great poker players expose their cards.
And, I think lots of others are gonna show up at this table. Where the republican convention next summer can open a can of worms likes the pubbies have never seen.
Democraps? They've got Chicago 1968. It works as their reference.
LBJ when he couldn't run again, just ran home.
If things really tank for Obama? Then, sure. He elects to NOT run. Nobody wants to be Jimmy Carter. Nobody.
Edutcher. If the numbers run against Obama winning, he will duck out.
If the GOP spends all its time racing against Obama ... instead of coming up with ideas (the way Trump spreads them around) ... They'll face November 2012 ... After having wasted a lot of time.
It's not for nothing I call it the stupid party.
Plus, I can't talk for Blacks. But I have a suspicion, if Obama runs, and they sense he's in trouble ... they'll come out in spades.
Master cylinder, way up thread: Perry didn't win the last election by less than 40%; he won 55-42 over popular Bill White. Are you sure you're from Texas?
"BTW, how does one have an 'unsuccessful' interview?"
I take it you've never been interviewed, then? :-)
Seriously, sometimes the press-creature arrives at the interview with an axe to grind, and really needs you to say something that fits in with their preconceived idea. I once spent nearly an hour on the phone with the arts reporter for our local newspaper, who desperately wanted an on-the-record statement from me about something I had no intention of going on the record about. After a while, it became quite amusing and I determined I would just go with the flow and see how many times she kept trying. Like I said, nearly an hour.
I stand in amazement--Kapish is a yiddish word? Its Italian--I have tried to school poster J in the proper use of capisce including the proper italian pronunciation. The italian pronunciation of ci and ce is the soft; the pronunciation of, say, a word like bruschetta is hard..brusketta
You seem to be using some sort of napolitan dialect rather than florentine italian
Carol, my dear: you suffer from diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain. fortunately they are not life threatening.
Edutcher. If the numbers run against Obama winning, he will duck out.
If so, we can kiss the Democrat Party a fond farewell for a while.
If the GOP spends all its time racing against Obama ... instead of coming up with ideas (the way Trump spreads them around) ... They'll face November 2012 ... After having wasted a lot of time.
It's not for nothing I call it the stupid party.
They have plenty of plans, kid. From Rand Paul to Paul Ryan.
They run the gamut from Paul to Paul.
Plus, I can't talk for Blacks. But I have a suspicion, if Obama runs, and they sense he's in trouble ... they'll come out in spades.
It's becoming very obvious he's taking them completely for granted and they've started noticing (finally) .
But I think it's more apt to say they'll come out in vans.
Roger J. said...
Carol, my dear: you suffer from diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain. fortunately they are not life threatening.
Carol is something of an acquired taste. You have to get used to her and pick out the bon mots.
Edutcher--you are indeed correct, and I apologize to Carol for being harsh with her--you are right about her occasional bon mots--they can be quite charming.
The Press, and Garage, will try hard to pick the Republican candidate. When they tell you "X is the one who can win", what they mean is that X is the one most like a Democrat. That way, even if the unthinkable happens and X wins, they get most of their agenda.
Perry has this going for him: He's probably the only nationally-visible Republican whose self-image is as strong and positive as Obama's. What a lot of people don't figure out is that he's now had twelve years of the Austin Press trying to turn his tendency for one-liners against him, plus forty years of responding to Aggie jokes -- and he's still here.
He may not win -- he's got a lot of skeletons in his closet -- but he'll provide first-class entertainment during the run, guaranteed. All a "macaca moment" will do is generated another one-liner, almost certainly both funny and memorable.
caplight: wonderful rejoinder--I guess it depends if you speak austrian or italian--In italy it would depend whether you were from campagnia or tuscany--In tuscany it would be the TS sound. Enjoyed your comment sir--thanks for sharing it
"You understand?" in Yiddish is "farshtay?" (I have also heard "farshtayst"). "Kop" is "head" and "pisha paysha" is the generic term for a simple card game. I can imagine hearing only the last syllables and thinking someone said "capisce?" but there is absolutely no dialect of Yiddish where "capisce" means "do you understand."
Honestly, I can't understand the fascination some of you have with Carol and Titus. I find them both boring, stunningly self-absorbed and not nearly as clever as they think they are.
Seven Machos said... Garage -- Any Republican beats Obama. The man is polling in the 30s. That means that two in every three people don't support him.
==================== Not true. Romney is just ahead of him in the polls, Perry is 5 points behind The One and closing. Bachmann is 13-15 points behind Obama and polls show Goddess Palin ranging from 17 to 26 points behind Obama.
Remember that by 2004 over half the country saw Bush as a failed inept President who bungled us into a bad long war in Iraq and whose tax cuts for the wealthy policies had not benefited America. Then the Gift of Jean Claude Kerry happened...as the Dems found the beatable nominee they could seize defeat from the jaws of vicory with. Even then, it was close.
In 2010, Harry Reid was the most hated man in Nevada. Guaranteed loss of a seat. Then the gift of Sharron Angle came...
edutcher said... 7 million Conservatives voting McCain instead of staying home and we might not be in this mess.
Right. Instead we'd be slightly less bankrupt and by 2010 there would have been 30 million more instant Democratic voters, formerly known as Potentially Insufficiently Documented Future Reliable Democratic Voters of La Raza, to turn the 2010 election into a Democratic veto-proof majority in Congress and the repeal of the 22nd Amendment.
In 2035, President for Life Malia Obama would look back at McCain's election as the best thing that ever happened to her.
please!!! NOT another religious wingnut from Texas. One was more than enough! And come on, being a governor from Texas does not seem to be a very good training ground for president.

I love the "Adios, mofo" line. Sounds like something I'd say (in the same joking way) to get a laugh from friends.
That's a big fucking deal!
I can see it now: "Adios, Mofo" bumper stickers with the Obama Hope-O superimposed over the last O. Then, you know, Perry 2012 underneath. It's a sad commentary that adios, mofo resonates more than anything Obama's said in 3 years.
Obviously he was saying farewell to someone from the well-respected law firm Morrison & Foerster. How can that be wrong?
Strikes me as a refreshing contrast to the insincere telepromptered appeals for unilateral 'civility'.
Inspector Callahan is undoubtedly envious.
As is Colonel Matrix.
And, dare we say, that renowned private investigator, John Shaft.
Coketown - I would totally buy that bumpersticker.
Remember when Bush and Cheney were caught on a mic dissing that annoying New York TImes reporter? My husband decided then and there to vote for Bush.

It's just not working any more, dudes. The mojo, if you will, is gone.
Is that wrong?
Context??
In and of itself, no.
Coketown -- I've already seen it. It's on Zazzle or CafePress.
Regardless of context, Perry's choice of "MoFo" versus the obvious "full text" version shows restraint, no?
Perry will devour the pussy president, he will make him cry.
they've played it constantly for years on morning radio in Dallas. because it's funny.
better than "corpse man"
If this portends a 'take no prisoners' approach, then it is good, not bad.
We're well past happy-smiley time.
No. It's what Prez Obama would have said, if was a manly man, to that reporter earlier this year. But instead Obama whined "next time, let me finish my answers and don't interrupt".
He's bilingual!
Mofo is Spanglish for-Liberal media.
This is kick ass!
The media seems to be controlling whose gonna race against obama.
Just like I think Iowa picked the ball on the pool table ... that's supposed to knock palin into a side pocket.
Will all this "hoo-ha" win?
How so, Kimasabi? (I've got a great Tonto joke. The punchline is Tonto Goldberg.)
WV: "TENTO" ... close
So what is the context? Is it just a recorded "hey we're doing a sound and light test" sort of thing?
Is it similar to Bush flipping off the camera?
Just because Obama gives the finger should Republican presidential candidates lower themselves to that standard?
Perry may make a decent leader for these 57 states.
I knew it was press related!
chickenlittle here's the context:
From Joe Biden to Howard Dean, presidential candidates have made some pretty interesting remarks on their way to the White House. Rick Perry’s dirty-mouthed moment came back in 2005 and is set to haunt him by way of an upcoming book.

He ain't gonna git that far. I hope stays for a while though, the gaffe a minute machine should be pretty entertaining.
the gaffe a minute machine should be pretty entertaining
Gaffe a minute like TOTAL RECALL!? Or gaffe a minute like the support Obama loses each minute he is president?
Oh, Reagan saying into the mike:
We start bombing Russia in five minutes. (When he was supposed to lean forward and just say "test.")
I love the way we've put fuck into our language. My mother would have covered her ears by now.
Speech has consequences.
Here, at 1:14, for example, you can see the lasting damage from umlauts.
Obama isn't losing support.
Remember this. Dubya got elected twice!
Never underestimate how well a candidate can do. Where Americans vote holding their noses, a lot.
Given that this was one of those "caught on the mike" mistakes, I am surprised Perry abbreviated the expletive and said "mofo."
Lyndon Johnson would have said "motherfucker."
Obama isn't losing support.
Carol -- Do you ever stop posting comments and, say, read the news? Of course Obama is losing support. His approval is in the high 30s, down from wherever it was when he was lowering the ocean levels and speaking in Berlin.
So did Rove leak it? Why is he going around bad mouthing Perry? The Bushies are not thrilled and why not?
@madawaskan: Thank you for that context!
Now we can all move on!
So did Rove leak it?
No.
Yes, I'm sure Obama's manly magnanimity, spontaneity, and charm will win over the undecided voters.
Wv: debone

Obama isn't losing support.
She has her fingers on the nation's pulse, looking forward to his re-erection!
Chickenlittle, they only have erections in Japan. They say it's for their diet. I don't get it.
El Pollo & Scott
LOL!
@Michael
Christie wouldn't beat Obama in his homestate. [and speaking of pants, why size do you think this whale wears?]
Perry is temporary clown show. Romney is the only one that can beat Obama, that's probably why Rove is all wigged out.
They say it's for their diet. I don't get it.
It's the softening economy. People don't like a soft economy or a soft currency, or soft power.

Rove might be wigged out because Perry means no stealth Jeb. Until 2020. If then even.
Plus even if Perry isn't the whole picture, he's a big part of what's needed.
Garage -- Any Republican beats Obama. The man is polling in the 30s. That means that two in every three people don't support him.
If you are so confident, why are you so defensive? Those things don't go together.
Okay, either he was presenting "Adios, mofo," as what the reporter was likely thinking, or he was saying it *to* the reporter.
As far as I can tell, since it was a reporter involved, that's a win either way for him.
BTW, how does one have an "unsuccessful" interview?
So at the signing of the signature legislation of Obama's presidency the Vice President of the United States of America says loud enough to be heard on camera, "This is a big f***ing deal." Chuckles, embarrassed titters (leave it alone Titus) and then crickets.

Yippie-ki-yay, mofo.
Remember Chris LeHane Seven? Boy that guy was a piece of work. Saw him in the news recently, I can't remember what it was about.

If this turns into a contest of macho, it's gonna be hilarious, so I hope it does.
My candidate can kick your candidate's ass. Maybe even an all or nothing cage match. Thunderdome!
Cruel neutrality would require accepting the victor of any test of strength without reservation.

Just because Obama gives the finger should Republican presidential candidates lower themselves to that standard?
McCain's high standards didn't do him much good.

Obama isn't losing support.
Black approval is 80%. Approval in NY is 36, in Jersey, 44.
He's hemorrhaging, dear.

So did Rove leak it? Why is he going around bad mouthing Perry? The Bushies are not thrilled and why not?
Perry apparently didn't like the Bush machine looking over his shoulder.
This will help him with the base.
Obama bets Perry even here in Tejas.
Why do people bother writing stuff like that?
So far, Obama has managed to bring his own patriotism, his own handling of the economy, and his own manhood into question, all while tilting at someone who got in the Republican race a couple days ago. Hilarious.
Also, why is it that you leftists here are so confident that only Romney can beat Obama -- yet you never have a bad word to say about Romney? Why is that? You'd think that the candidate most likely to beat Obama would generate spasms of criticism.
Color me skeptical.
I think Althouse should run a poll to see the results for Perry vs. Romney.
Mofo is funny. It has a childish cadence to it.
Indeed. This is nothing except funny. Adios mofo! That is going to make an awesome bumper sticker, as coketown mentioned.
So, bring back the 90's, and draft the Presinator
If we bring back the 90s, won't get be too busy making watchable movies?
Nope. Not wrong at all.
I am surprised to be hearing it now, though. Adam and John have been playing it on the No Agenda podcast for a couple weeks now.
I've been thinking of making a ringtone out of it.
John Henry
Hey Mofro!
Adios mofo?
Best campaign theme, ever.
It should be interesting.
And yes, I think Bachmann is the third best choice in the current field, at best.
Great tune Trooper, and new to me. Thanks.
Bag -- On your theory of black support, you are discounting Black identity. Walter Russell Mead discussed it tangentially in a long essay recently.
In a nutshell, though, there are factors at work much more complex and much more reasonable and justifiable than mere racism.
And, yes, I would vote for my own mother even if we disagree with each other politically. Politics is so much less than everything.
Ryan, Christie, Perry, Romney - all far superior to any imagined generic Republican. It's a strong field. I wish they were all running. Any two would be a winning ticket. Hell, let's elect them all.
@Seven Machos, Garage? pm?
huh! don't put me in the same group as Garage.
Drudge has this pic and a headline about Black caucus being angry with Obama.
pm -- I grouped you with Garage because, like Garage, you apparently believe that a campaign manager has svengali-like powers. I base this on your comments in this thread.
I like Garage. Stand-up guy. Just woefully wrong about everything.
yep, too many mojitos-meant to say beats Perry not bet. Golly.
That's pure awesome.
I like Garage. Stand-up guy. Just woefully wrong about everything.
That might be in part to misreading. I said Rove was wigging on Perry entering the race, not that he had any svengali-like powers.
you apparently believe that a campaign manager has svengali-like powers
Bush needed a Rove and Obama certainly needed an Axelrod
Which presidential candidates have not needed a campaign manager?
A friend of mine is a state senator. He has a campaign manager.
Well my question with the Perry show so far, is the Texas strut and bravado:
1) A smart strategy to nail the base thus pushing out Bachman and leaving it just a two man race
2) Determined opponent research by the Dems to damage a new candidate with a lot of buzz.
3) Just who Perry is; deal with it!
I don't know
I think it has a nice ring to it. It should be a battle cry of the 2012 campaign!
Karl Rove is the Tom Hagen of the Bush Family.
The problem is the only one left to run is Fredo.
So he is feeling kinda desperate.
E tu, Trooper?
Karl Rove is a campaign consultant.
Wiggling?
No! Wigging.
Who ran Bush I's campaign? Who was Clinton's campaign manager? or for that matter Reagan's?
Seven Machos, quick.. tell me.. 1 2 3..
The real reason for Perry's "Adios, MoFo" comment was that the obnoxious reporter made him thirsty.
So is Jeb Bush Fredo?
We can only wish Rove was a genius. The guy is a campaign manager. Once, 12 years ago, he didn't screw up. Sure, he's a smart guy, and so is Buck Showalter.
Oh, my bad. So it is your belief that Rove has been freakin' out, being creeped out or freaked out by something or someone. That's how your describe Rove's behavior?
Really?
Note the author.
A friend of mine is a state senator. He has a campaign manager.
Can that campaign manager make your friend the President of the USA?
Who ran Bush I's campaign?
Lee Atwater. I mentioned him upthread. Further, the point of the trickster explanation is that it's Democrats using it to explain the rise of Republicans. Therefore, Clinton's campaign manager (Carville) doesn't matter.
Please pay attention.
Not you.
Is that wrong?
Another blonde question.
Context???????????
No it won't hurt him. He's not getting the pussy vote anyway.
Perry may be brilliant or he may be an idiot, but he sure is off to a hell of a start. Lots of attention, and he is already in Obama's head.
garage mahal said: No! Wigging.
Infinitive verb: "to wig"
Gerund form: "wigging"
Agent noun form: "wigger"
Carville, oh yeah.. I forgot. I give him a lot of credit too. Smart guy but he was also working with Clinton.
My observation about Rove was just that -- why is he being critical?
He's not getting the pussy vote anyway.
They wouldn't even vote for him for dogcatcher.
"So you admit ascribing to the trickster theory -- that the candidate is not who the people are voting for, but there is a trickster behind the candidate compelling people to vote for the candidate."
Proves that the candidate can make effective hiring decisions, don't it.

Oh great prognosticator Garage, how's that Wisconsin recall thing working out for you?
So you admit ascribing to the trickster theory
oh, yes. the 'trickster/s' create the narrative, the branding. It is all about branding..especially with what happened with Obama (and I think he is incapable coming up with all that himself.)
Nothing explains McCain. Branding, my ass.
Proves that the candidate can make effective hiring decisions, don't it.
I know you are being sarcastic, but it is more like the 'tricksters' hunt for the 'right' candidate..
pm -- Rarely do we see people embrace the exact, very thing that exposes their worldview as primitive and superstitious.
So, uh, way to go, dude.
Oh great prognosticator Garage, how's that Wisconsin recall thing working out for you?
I called both races last night within a point. Thanks for asking!
Considering 'GOD DA*N AMERICA" Wright (one of Obama's friends and pastior for many many years), what is wrong with Adios, mofo?
Yea, that is the bumper sticker we need!
"Adios, mofo Obama."
2012 can't come soon enough.
Buster Keaton!
Or China.
Only Trump does.
And, Trump hits home!
Seems to me that he was just giving a friendly goodbye to a member of the liberal media. If he'd said what he really thought, well "we treat people like that pretty ugly down here" would apply to his true sentiments towards this journalistic jackanapes.
At a minimum, the clip reminds us how Obama Spock, with his quips about Michelle's dresses, lacks any discernible sense of humor.
Last night's recall wasn't a piece of cake for either team.
Walker realizes his edge is close.
Kim Simac realizes her own neighbors turns o her ... But then again, this was her first time out.
She just needs to find 2000 more friends.
While both sides in these two democratic districts came out in large numbers! BOTH SIDES.
Of course, it doesn't represent the whole state! That's in TOSS UP, for November 2012.
But if there are fault lines? This issues aren't economic dividers, as much as religious ones.
Buster Keaton. Harold Lloyd. The guy whose famous for hanging off of a clock face.
He wasn't clowning around!
You get comedy gold when your character builds sympathy with missteps.
KAPISH? 60 grits. KAPISH?
Trump doesn't have to run to be on TV!
He's got more professional face time being on TV, though, than Perry!

Nobody.
Watch Barry say Yippie Ki-Yay motherf*ckers at his next stump speech
Anyone that uses the word "adios" loses my vote, Mofo.
Funny, 60, I like both Garage and Titus. Their arguments strengthen this blog. Gives it diversity.
Meanwhile, 60, all you do is ad hominems. Kapish? It's a fallacy on your part. Not worth the time of day.
Everyone,
The new trickster du jour for Republicans is named Dave Carney.
He's Perry's campaign manager.
Just so the Lefties know which name to put in the (fill in the blank) standard attacks that they have used against every Republican campaign manager.

Here.
Okay, yeah. What Chip said. ^^
Master cylinder, way up thread: Perry didn't win the last election by less than 40%; he won 55-42 over popular Bill White. Are you sure you're from Texas?
Chip,
"The t-shirt is already available."
Did you read the fine print? A white t-shirt???? That's racist.
Synova,
"BTW, how does one have an 'unsuccessful' interview?"
Kirk, True enough, but at least the lettering is black.
The fine print also indicates that they hope to sell the t-shirt to O-bots as well as O-ponents. The message can actually be read either way.
Clever bastards.
It's very Bush.

Carol is something of an acquired taste. You have to get used to her and pick out the bon mots.
And she does come up with them.
I can see it now: "Adios, Mofo" bumper stickers with the Obama Hope-O superimposed over the last O.
I don't normally put bumper stickers on my car.
I'd make an exception for that one.
Edutcher--you are indeed correct, and I apologize to Carol for being harsh with her--you are right about her occasional bon mots--they can be quite charming.
Not the worst clip for Rick Perry, but maybe MSNBC can edit it to make
Perry look racist.
Pathetic
Roger
How do you pronounce it when the there are two Zs together. Some people pronounce it like a T and S and others pronounce it like a Z.
Yes, I know I digress.
He's no PC John McCain, and that's all for the good.
""Adios, mofo."
Is that wrong?"
If leaving O is wrong, I don't want to be right.
Regards,
Ric
Turning word: "hasta". Nope, wrong macho man.
As a point of strategy I don't think the Dems should replay the Mofo clip, they should replay the apology.
caplight: wonderful rejoinder--I guess it depends if you speak austrian or italian--In italy it would depend whether you were from campagnia or tuscany--In tuscany it would be the TS sound. Enjoyed your comment sir--thanks for sharing it
plus forty years of responding to Aggie jokes
Oh man, if he becomes President I can drag out all those Aggie jokes I haven't heard in forever! Bonus!
Also, the annual Aggie vs. UT football game will be a national event. All the dem's can root for UT.
Shanna some of my best friends are aggies (I know, damned by faint praise)
is it true that the aggies actually served Bebo up to the UT football squad in the form of BBQ?
Admit: I would definitely buy a "Adios, mofo" bumper sticker, and display it proudly.
...the annual Aggie vs. UT football game will be a national event. All the dem's can root for UT.
That works -- after all, the converse has been true for half a century. But will the Republicans have a bonfire?

Ric
Is what wrong? Calling someone from the lamestream media a "mofo"? I agree with Coketown -- what a great bumper sticker!
Kinky Friedman likes Perry, the guy who ran against him for governor of Texas. Approximate quote
"Everybody else dismissed me as a performer and an entertainer but he always treated me with respect."
The interview is pretty good and ought to show up here when they get the 18th's segments up.
"Stop it, you're kill'n me over here.
Capisci is Italian for 'you understand'."
Chip, it's not worth the effort, "old dog, new tricks etc"
I always wanted to start a business called MOFO CO.
Wrong, no. Hilarious, most definitely.
Oh, for the love of Sophie Tucker -
"You understand?" in Yiddish is "farshtay?" (I have also heard "farshtayst").

Not true.
