"This one looks more real."

Comment I made last night, channel surfing, from Movie A to Movie B. It was true — Meade agreed — and a very funny realization.

Guess the movies. I'll reveal the answer later today.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith was more real than Mr. Smith Goes To Washington.

I love naming movies with minimal clues, although, in this case, it's TOO minimal for a correct answer.

Keeping with the theme though:

Less Real - OJ Simpson Trial 1995

More Real - OJ Simpson Trial 2008

LOL! WV - "jurizess"

Movie A was "Avatar" and remember it was *funny* to say that Movie B looked more real. And I'm speaking of the visual look of the thing, immediately upon Movie B appearing on the screen. You would have laughed and agreed (maybe).

Based on the latest clue, I'm thinking that it was an animated film, but I cannot think of one.

The clues all point to Ferngully as the "more real", but I can't imagine that it was on last night.

Movie B must be some scifi B movie with primitive special effects, like "Plan 9 From Outer Space", "Barbarella", "Westworld", something like that.

I was going to say More Real = Clockwork Orange... guess I accidentally took a double dose of my morning cynical pills.

Cowboys and Aliens is opening this week.

From seeing the previews, it maybe competition for True Grit. It is Colt 45's versus Star Wars weapons... what an original thought.

ENTERTAIN ME!

Less real: Star Wars, A New Hope.

More real: The Empire Strikes Back.

You can't argue with 1980s special effects.

Given the rugrat situation, I have to pick and choose my movie dates with the wife. We both want to see Cowboys and Aliens if for no other reason than the sterling cast. However, we decided we're going to see Captain America at the theater instead and Netflix C&A when it comes out.

I finally got Windows 7 installed and the computer hooked up with an HDMI to the bedroom flatscreen. I'm actually quite happy with Microsoft's included media center and it's web tv applications. Netflix is built right in.

Mutiny on the Bounty, Version 1 being more real.

Should have read the Althouse hint--

Sorry Scott, read that as the "bathroom flatscreen" and thought "WTF?"

Before I saw what movie A was, I was going with Robin Hood. Just because 2 versions were on different channels last night. While not a movie, "Falling Skies?"

Was there a Smurfs movie on last night? A trailer for one?

I watched the end of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels before walking the dog last night... Tuned in too late for the "most memorable" scene, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

Movie B = Inception.

Who knows what's on TV any more?

Fern Gully and Smurfs being rules out, I'd guess maybe something like Forbidden Planet or something which had one of those great old mattes.

The Wizard of Oz looks more real than Avatar.

I was going to guess an animated, claymation or one of those newfangled computer generated cartoon movies for Movie B.

But now that Movie A is Avatar, I'm thrown off.

Is Movie B a Wallace and Grommet short?

Mutiny on the Bounty, Version 1 being more real.
Version 1 being: The one with Clark Gable
o the one with Brando?
Version 1 was more real because Blihgt looke less crazy. he was absolved by the martial Court because he was a great captain and his behaviour was the standar with a crew of criminals and drunkards.

Version 2 Brando has to be the heroe but doesn not look less real even if inaccurate
Version 3 : Mel Gibson´s

Movie B was "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America."

Did you like Beavis and Butthead Do America?

I've enjoyed all of Mike Judge's films as I watched them, but the more I think about them, the more I like them.

I could hardly get through Idiocracy, but I find myself thinking about it a lot. Very effective satire. I think it will rise in esteem over the years. It has nowhere else to go but up.

Extract was good, too.
