On the Capital City Trail today...

... I stopped to photograph the Queen Anne's lace and (especially) the gayfeather:

Enlarge to see the gayfeather, the spiky purple wildflower. And here I was, just about exactly a year ago, stopping in the same place, for the same flowers.

Queen Anne's lace

Wild carrot. You can eat the root

but don't try. I did as an adolescent after reading Euell Gibbons. They're stringy, tough and tasteless (but free!)

Given what the democrats are saying "dead on arrival" and so on, default cannot be as catastrofic as the democrats are saying.

If I follow the democrats logic correctly the president and the democrats are saying that default is preferable to the evil republican plan.

So, as long as the democrats hold firm and reject every evil republican plan, we dont have anything to worry about.. or something ;)

Lovely! My stand of gayfeather is done for the year, just a couple of fuzzy bits at the bottom of the spike.

Except Reid is counting on a Republican filibuster, so he can once again blame Republicans.

Those damn, crazy Republicans. Don't they understand how much we care about the debt!

(PS Harry Reid in May:
There’s no need to have a Democratic budget, in my opinion,)

And I'll bet it warms your heart when you visit this spot. It's always nice to have places that make you smile to mark the seasons and the years.

No default, just shutdown of some Federal services.

Unless Little Zero goes all DeNiro and starts doing his Capone thing and decides to hold up Social Security checks.

At which point, Boehner will have to find someone to show him how to go all Sean Connery.

"Queens Anne's Lace" sounds so beautiful.

Where I'm from, we call it Chiggerweed, and avoid it like the chigger-infested plague that it is.
