I see the Casey Anthony trial went to the jury now. Thoughts? I saw a clip from the defense's closing remarks, and it seemed like he didn't practice very much...kind of looked like he was winging it!
@MadisonMan: Did you go to the new Target at Hilldale? I took my mom there last time she came to visit, and she had never seen a cart escalator before! hehehehe
The lawyer I hired to handle my divorce did his closing off the top of his head. He had either prepared well or was used to doing it - it was brilliant. He was a former Airborne Ranger, Vietnam vet, tough as nails and he pounded the fat broad my ex- had representing her like she was a rented government mule. It was a thing of beauty. Beauty, I tells ya. We won, too. Thank goodness not all judges are mommy judges.
I first heard of McCotter (I think) when he delivered a speech on the House floor, sprinkled with Zeppelin references. Quite amusing.
Cain's staff is bailing. What is it with Georgia boys losing their staff? Is it that America is loathe to elect another Georgian to the White House, given our last experience?
I have very strong feelings about succulents. Our 1 acre yard was landscaped and developed by my late in-laws - primarily my Japanese-born mother-in-law, starting in 1973. She experimented with all kinds of succulents as ground cover. Unfortunately, one in particular, Sedum album "Chubby Fingers", would take over the entire acre if I let it. I peel off pounds of the stuff in solid masses - like pulling up an old carpet. I've got so much of it, I've thought of putting an ad in Craigslist that reads: "Need some succulent groundcover? Bring your own containers and harvest your own." That's probably the only way I could ever get it under control. Nice flowers in the heat of summer though.
Yes, to pay the bill. I've noticed that prices at that Target are higher than the prices at the other two Targets. So I try to do my shopping at the one in Fitchburg, even though that's a ways away.
I want to wish you a very happy Independence Day since you are one of the happy small band working to keep alive the idea of liberty. We will prevail, the Republic will be restored, we will have a constitutional convention within 10/15 years. But it is going to be bloody hell. Keep alive dear lady and thank you.
Went to Xtreme Fireworks and Mars Cheese Castle. They've just built an entirely new castle that looks much more like a castle than the original 1947 building.

Richard Epstein, in an excellent podcast on happiness, pronounces variegated with a soft g.
God Bless America... now for some succulent BBQ.
Very nice photos, especially the top one.
Just rode my bike 70 miles in the Texas heat.
I just wanted you to know.
Is that your garden? If so, please give more info. Succulents are such great plants! Those are very cool varieties.
Took a break from weeding to watch the second half of Brazil-Norway at the Women's World Cup.
Hauled a load to the yard waste site. Now I'm on another break.
Crossword puzzle, cup of tea, and Althouse.
I'd pay good money for a massage right now.
@Bob It's at Olbrich Botanical Garden.
Hey I heard a French tourist just stuck his penis in that purple flower.

On purpose?
Are you bragging, complaining? Can't tell.
I biked today to Target, but when I got there, I realized by bike lock was at home. So I biked back home, and then drove to Target.
Thad McCotter has announced that he's going to run for the GOP nomination. Born in 1965, I think he's the youngest of the field.
To the best of my knowledge, I had never heard of him before today.

re: McCotter
He plays guitar and digs Led Zeppelin. We could do worse. Hell, we are doing worse.
Beautiful succulents, with their shallow roots.
Dr Seuss vegetation!
Those flowers smell like the fruit of a ginko tree

When I think of succulent, the image of plants whose petals look like butter cream candies does not come to mind.

You will hear a great deal more. He's one of the Republicans' better thinkers on finance and very sharp, very witty.
Strong Conservative and not a Party man - voted against TARP, as well as ZeroCare.

Trooper York: Hey I heard a French tourist just stuck his penis in that purple flower.
I heard that purple flower is a whore.

Can't be complaining, because it was my own goddam retarded idea.

Beautiful pic, love the purple succulent. Happy Fourth!
I bought some nice mortars. They are quite succulent. They will start blooming tonight.
"Beautiful pic, love the purple succulent."
And I'm partial to the green.
We both agree though.
This snapshot is lovely.
Did you see the new PM of Thailand? Kinda hot... Just sayin'. Not that I have "yellow fever" or anything...
Seriously, when you think the new leader of a country is "kinda hot," even if she is, you're getting old, my friend. Sigh.
Dropping acid for the holiday?
No, seriously.
Gorgeous.
Been putting up hay. Most are 4x5s. Plus 100+ squares, which are a nuisance.
We live in a great country.
Party like it's 1776!
"Party like it's 1776!"
Ha ha OK!
Guess I would be bone tired by now, and looking forward to some wet dreams?
How perfectly lovely that succulents were so adaptive.

Yeah, well, try not to cry about it.
Crossed the Cheese Curtain today.
Went to Xtreme Fireworks and Mars Cheese Castle. They've just built an entirely new castle that looks much more like a castle than the original 1947 building.
Good Cheese.

Does McCotter appeal to the voters who wouldn't consider Romney? Does he divert voters away from Bachmann?
Beautiful Pics .... Superb
