"Have a couple of iterations of: 'This is silly. Like so many others, I follow Rep. Weiner on Twitter..."

"... I don't know him and have never met him. He briefly followed me and sent me a dm saying thank you for the follow.  That's it.'"

Weiner's June 2d email advising porn star Ginger Lee "to have a short, thought out statement that tackles the top line questions and then refer people back to it."

This is how a criminal conspiracy to obstruct justice looks, folks, when it is unraveling.

So, Weiner offered his suggestions to her gingerly?

"The day after his deposition in the Jones case, Clinton discussed his relationship with Lewinsky with his personal secretary, Betty Currie, in the Oval Office.

According to Currie's testimony, Clinton said, among other things, "We were never really alone," "You could see and hear everything," "Monica came on to me and I never touched her, right?," and "She wanted to have sex with me and I can't do that."

In his testimony in the Jones case, Clinton made several references to Currie as Lewinksy's close friend, almost inviting the lawyers for Jones to depose her. This suggests that in his conversation with Currie the next day he was focused on preparing her to testify falsely, should she be added to the deposition list in the Jones case. "

And the thing is... the advice worked. Once Ginger Lee went that rout, the press left her alone. This thing almost died down before the Weiner was uncovered.

Clinton, for all his education, remained a white trash scumbag. Re-read the Starr report to see what Billy liked to have her do and where.

Debt? Unemployment? Nah.

Getting back to "the people's work" means using (taxpayer- funded?) PR consultants to advise a porn star about a your crotch shot.

Tar and feathers. Now.

RuyDiaz said...

Also notice: of the four women whose identities are known three seem to have been total grouping--fully standing with the Weiner politically. The one who wasn't a total groupie, Meagan Broussard, was the one who came forward.

Chip S. said...

TM, Since there was no investigation by any law-enforcement agency, what could he be indicted for? Just wondering.

RuyDiaz said...

"total grouping"=total groupies. Sigh. I'm not a pervert, I swear.

Imus wondered the other day what a porn star might be, thinking that perhaps star was being misused.

He considered actress, but decided that all women are actresses.

The mot juste was not found.

Chip S. said...

Ruy, I figured it was a typo, but I thought you had simply put an extraneous "u" in "groupingly."

So, is this press conference worthy? Not sure I'm up for another one so soon, but this is "new" information that belies what he said in yesterday's presser (unless I'm mixing up his statements) when he claimed that neither he nor anyone else engaged in "cover up" activities.

Patrick said...

How sweet, he offered his PR people to her. Actually, that seems quite mean, given how well they performed.
"Want my PR people to screw this up for you too?"

Crimes have been committed. It is a crime to convert government property for your personal use.

Weiner was stealing long-distance telephone calls from inside his House office and using that money to have phone sex with young girls he was meeting on the internet.

He illegally converted his public House office space into his own little sexatorium - into his own little perverted masturbation room.

And to prevent this crime from coming to light, he has conspired with others to cover up his crimes. That conspiracy to obstruct justice is a felony crime in and of itself.

John Edwards can tell you, since he was just indicted for conspiracy also.

Where is the FBI?

Why are they not investigating these crimes against the taxpayer committed by a sitting United States Congressman?

Are Democrats going to get away with this sort of thievery of the public treasury? Just because they have a friend in the White House covering up for them?

It's time for the House of Representatives to eject this unethical bastard from their midst and for the proper authorities to arrest Democrat Anthony Weiner for his crimes.

@ChipS

Don't be such a buzz kill. Who needs a legal theory when the TMZ article says he could run "afoul of house ethics rules as well as the law"? If you can't trust TMZ's analysis, who can you trust?

The Crack Emcee said...

Wow - this is the very essence of "Liar, liar, pants on fire!"

Talk about relying on the kindness of strangers. Weiner really is an unbelievable idiot.

I agree with Imus on that score. What about "pornbot"? It seems to suit the nature of most porn "acting".

I'm starting to embrace the logical-punctuation movement.

Well, a porn star couldn't say, "It’s really outrageous. The implication is outrageous. First of all, if you ask the question, I have a right to say it’s outrageous."

Not without folks laughing.

Chip S. said...

"afoul of house ethics rules"

hahahahaha. I love that one. Thanks, TM.

RuyDiaz said...

How do you determine porn stardom? Number of movies? Awards? Longevity?

Ginger Lee's "acting" "career" may benefit from all of this.

Anthony Weiner has a huge PR staff - over 118 former or current employees all paid for by us, the taxpayers - that he illegally converted to his private use in an attempt to cover up his sexual escapades by making this PR staff available so a porn star could help him lie.

Where is the FBI?

Where are the Congressional investigators?

Why can't the taxpayers get any protection from this thief of services?

If you can get a Congressman to show you his cock so you can take a picture of it ... you're a fucking ROCK STAR, baby.

"The one who wasn't a total groupie, Meagan Broussard, was the one who came forward."

There are at least two underage high school girls who are being protected by their parents but who will eventually make statements to investigators.

Weiner is a lying sack of shit. He was advising women last week who were "following him" to speak to his team on PR tips.

Nancy called for a House investigation, but that investigation will not be controlled by the Dems. Maybe the Dems will do damage control and get Weiner out before more embarassing things come out? Here's for that hope and change.

When will people understand that conspiring over e-mail is stupid? Pick up the phone and have a conversation. It's deniable.

KCFleming said...

Given the perennial problem of Congressmen having trouble keeping their pants on, perhaps a gubmint program would help.

I suggest Sexicare, a nationalized sex service, with set rates and government employees.

The prices are low, and there is no discrimination, so you cannot request a particular person or gender.

Enjoy!

Fen said...

Yup. I'm on an e-list and the "reply/reply to all" buttons often get people in trouble. But the worst are those who don't understand what "private conversation" means. You take a topic off-list to have a frank discussion, and when they respond they fwd it all back to the public list. Fortunately, I never had to learn about this first-hand.

Bottom line: Never ever send anything in email that you wouldn't send publicly.

PatHMV said...

Fred4Pres, TheSmokingGun today has some e-mails indicating that "Dan Wolfe" and Mike Stack, who "uncovered" this story solicited, and may have received, advice from Darryl Issa's press secretary for the House Committee on Government Oversight and Reform, regarding how best to disclose the info they had on Weiner. Count on the Dems making a lot of hay out of that as a possible misuse of government funds, to distract from any improper use of government resources by Weiner.

This reminds me of the taped telephone conversations between Bill Clinton and Gennifer Flowers where Gennifer was telling Bill how she would going to respond to various questions and Bill would ask her if she really needed to say that (i.e.,he was tellling her to lie).

Why assume a porn star would be short of good legal, or PR advice?

Along this line, I'd suggest you NOT defranchise blogger. Because some will spend good money on running your name through the trash heap.

It's no cost to you not to change.

Meanwhile, weiner's roasted.

And, it's funny that Nancy Pelosi didn't quit when the democraps lost their House majority. My bet? Weiner sticks it out for as long as he can.

Wince said...

It looks like that TSG story came out yesterday before the press conference.

Effectively, its salience collapsed along with the Weiner "hoax" defense it was meant to support.

William said...

Rep. Lee looks better and better. If you get stuck in this kind of tar pit, just resign and go gentle into that good night. You're doomed. The trick is not to drag others down with you and you disappear into the sucking mess. It's a shame that this porn star has had her reputation sullied by her involvement with Weiner. She should go to Charlie Sheen for redemption.

A "Shotgun" Gold said...

You're lucky Ann. You're 40 years beyond Weiner's preference in women.

Pelosi is calling for an investigation now, before this thing gets radioactive. The Demos want to be well away from this before it goes critical.

And I don't blame them.

Again, concerning this supposed need for politicians to tweet; I have to ask...

What's the point?

What do they think they will possibly accomplish?

Are they trying to show how connected to technology they are?

Are they trying to show how much they care about their constituents?

Are they trying to look hip?

I just don't get it. You can't really convey anything of substance on it. It's great if you want to tell friends you're at the movies, where you're eating lunch, or when you're taking a shit. Granted, it works great for Sarah Palin because she's in campaign mode, and, well, her mental capacity often seems to just match the limit of 140 characters at a single time (OK, that was just mean). But I mean really... What's the point?

James said...

None of this is surprising. And I'm also willing to bet that Weiner or his people had a hand in preparing Genette Cordova's statement last week.
