A cool little recording by The Deadly Snakes. Amusing use of the "Be My Baby" riff. (You can buy the whole album here.) I'd never heard of this group, but I like this kind of music, which tends to play on the "Underground Garage" channel on satellite radio.
Cue Crack Emcee to come in and tell me this kind of music sucks. (Hey, did you see he got Blogger to restore his blog?)

Google's mendacity has no bounds. First Althouse now Crack.
The song is not one I would seek out to listen to, but it would be fine to see them play live (I think). Maybe once.
I didn't see Scott Pilgrim vs The World in theaters and wasn't up on the graphic novel (if that's what you want to call it). It just hit cable, however, and I have to admit, it's a fairly hysterical piece of indie-music surrealism. Extremely well-done.
As far as the soundtrack, the one I can't get out of my head, both for the version/presentation in the movie and the actual band's album cut, is "Black Sheep" by Metric. Excellent indie rock with commercial accessibility.
I don't think Crack will be alone with his suggested opinion. LOL, of course I am a bit older than you, but that song is no better than finger nails on a chalk board.
I don't think we should road trip together.

Let me fill in till he gets here: this kind of music sucks. Tuneless caterwauling of inane lyrics and monotonous piano plonking--this group will never get out of the garage.
I just went to his site and he has a picture of a woman getting fucked by a stuffed animal. The stuffed animal has a dildo.
I believe that is crossing the line.
Just clicked on Crack's blog. Interesting. I think.
What are you talking about? Both links lead to a not found page.

Titus,
I just went to his site and he has a picture of a woman getting fucked by a stuffed animal.
That stuffed animal represents Newt Gingrich, thank you very much.

Crack's problem preceded mine.
Crack's problem preceded mine.
Well, that's axiomatic, isn't it?
The Underground Garage is excellent, especially Bill Kelly (aka the Garage Mahal) and Andrew Loog Oldham, who seems like he has had an interesting life.
Titus:
Be more specific. Is the stoffed animal holding the dido, or is it a strap-on?
And don't be coy, do you have some objection to stuffed animals using strap-ons?
Kind of sounds like the Animals.
Althouse is on the topic of death today.
Not a bad topic, since we all die. Funny we don't spend more time on it.
Love it.
Crack's problem preceded mine.
Here's the solution for all your crack woes.
