First time around, I could not abide by Rob Mariano, couldn't stand him, never wanted to see or hear of him again. Go Rob! One of the best Survivors ever.
I have been surprised at myself for how much I am rooting for Rob to win the whole thing. He has shown lots of physical guts in the challenges and his mental game is top notch. Although he is quite open about "playing the game", he has never seemed as blatantly conniving as Russell. I rejoiced this go round when Russell's team gave him the heave-ho fairly early on. There's just something about how Rob does his manipulating that allows him to stay likable.
I just love this show. I'm enjoying this season so much, esp. with Russell gone early on. I am absolutely rooting for Boston Rob to win! He's fun to watch. Agree with Michaele - Rob is very likable even when he's stabbing someone in the back!
I'm for Rob, all the way. But there's two under-the-radar girls, and one "former federal agent", standing between him and the goal line. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Who wants celebrity Boston Rob to win? I don't. He's had his fifteen minutes of fame and made plenty of endorsement money the last ten years doing survivor and amazing race. They should have dumped him on day one.
If you want someone worthy, vote for the special agent. Anyone over 50 has to do some massive camp work and mind games to stay on the Island as the 20 something's always vote them out early.
Or vote for our dark horses still on redemption island. Matt has played as hard as any player in staying alive challenge after challenge.
rhhardin, David Cook and David Archuleta on American Idol, presumably. But don't take my word for it, that was osmosis, I don't know anything about these shows.
Chez Meadhouse, we're rooting for Phillip because we root for interestingness, and Rob controlling the whole game all season is boring. But in the end, he deserves to win, I supposed. Especially after that time he almost died running up the stares. It was very "other Russell."
I agree that Rob controlling the whole season has been somewhat boring. But Rob himself is interesting, and I love his talks to the camera. It should be fun when the whole group finds out the real meaning of the word Murlonio! I can't wait for the reunion show to find out the real scoop on Philip. You know that's gotta be a great backstory.
Rob's performance has been impressive, but fades under scrutiny to some degree because of the AWFUL performance (or perhaps non-performance would be more accurate) of those girls in his 'harem.' Never have seen worse, less strategic players in any season. I don't know if it is due to the fact that they were casted rather than having submitted audition tapes (as diehard fans have done previously) or what. But for none of them ever to even have discussed getting rid of Rob shows a sheeplike mentality and blind allegiance that goes against the very essence of the game. Can't wait to see what happens tonight though. Also, if you enjoy the show, take a look at Jeff's blog which is posted the morning after each episode at jeffprobst.com. It gives some interesting insights from his perspective.
Whats with all the sore losers? Whining about how they "played with integrity". Bullshit. Every single one of them would have been Natalie if Rob had given them the chance.

What's the battle of the Davids?
You'd think there'd be a Goliath for one of them.
No longer a popular boys' name either.
I wouldn't know what's going on this year. I stopped watching because Survivor started being overwhelmed with the likes of this creep.

Yeah, the Davids are Cook and Archuleta. It was a stark showdown between a pretty cool rocker guy and a cheesy teen idol.

If playing for the fourth time with newbies is what Rob needed to be "best", I don't know what best is anymore.

Survivor is crap. You need to watch the Celebrity Apprentice.
Tonight the Donald demands that Obama produce his report cards.
What if you watch Survivor and DVR "Celebrity Apprentice"? (that's me!) :)
Rob is from Boston, natch.
YAY ROB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I completely agree with Jeff: best strategic game EVER played. He deserved the win.
Any bets on who the two returning players will be next season? I'd personally really like to see Lex come back. Maybe Coach, too...
Most boring season ever! Doubt I'll be back.
